Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!
1. Too soon! We’re losing fall way too soon! If you recall, this is what our trees looked like just last week…
And this is what they look like this week…
So if you’re wondering why I get so overly excited about fall it’s because I have to take advantage of it while I can and concentrate all of my love for it into a few short weeks!
2. Speaking of fall, I hope you’re not getting tired of the recipes because I’ve got another one to share with ya! I recently posted some Crunchy Pumpkin Spice Roasted Chickpeas over on Savory Style, so go check em out if you’re looking for a deeee-licious healthy snack option for these cozier fall days!
3. Can we talk about something bizarre for a second? Like the irrational fear I have of this thing right here?
What is “this thing right here?” That, my friends, would be the moisture absorber for a bottle of vitamins… and I’m afraid of it because I can’t help but think that one day it’ll come out when I shake the bottle (as it often does), and I won’t notice and end up swallowing it instead of my vitamins… which, of course, only leads to visions of me needing to get my stomach pumped or something equally as unpleasant 😯
4. And while we’re on the topic of irrational fears… let’s talk about hiccups. I rarely ever get them, and I’m super thankful for that fact because every time they do come around, I can’t help but wonder if I’ll become one of those poor unfortunate souls (Little Mermaid, anyone?!) that develop never-ending hiccups. I’m sorry, but how terrible would that be 😯

5. Shifting gears to more pleasant topics… how freaking cute are my new socks?!?
I wear plain black socks about 99.9% of the time, but I was after something a little more fun and basically fell in love with those as soon as I saw them. Love at first sight — it’s a very real thing, my friends.
6. So are these teeny, tiny apples!
From what I remember, however, they are not as delicious as they are cute… So keep in mind — looks can often be deceiving 😉
7. Except for when it comes to things like this…
… because that really is as good as it looks. Now hopefully I can keep myself from eating it all so that I can actually share the recipe that involves that wonderfully chocolatey creation with you soon!
8. Exciting news! Well, exciting to me anyways, since it probably won’t make a lick of difference to you. But I’ve finally been seeing some new kombucha flavours here in my neck of the woods!
Normally I could only have the guava and mango ones when I was down in the States, but it looks like they’ve become a permanent thing, so… #happydance. Now if only they didn’t cost $4.50 a bottle…
9. And while we’re on the topic of news, care to see how I stay up-to-date on current events? Voila!
That right there would be my neighbour’s newspaper 😆 Most of the time she doesn’t end up taking it in until waaaaay later in the day (we’re talking 4 – 5 PM), so I catch glimpses of the headlines whenever I go in/out of my home. Heck, I could probably take the whole paper, read it, and put it back without her noticing. And in case you’re wondering — no, I haven’t done it… yet 😛
10. And that’s it for me this week! I hope you guys are having an awesome Thursday, and I’ll see you tomorrow with either a recipe or… something else 😆 … depending on how motivated I’m feeling. Oh, and one last thing! How crazy is it that this is the last Thursday of September?! By this time next week, it’ll be a whole new month… Okay, bye! 😀
No questions… just tell me whatever comes to your mind! 😀

Those apples are the cutest! I’ve never seen any so small!! Also yay for Fall! I can’t believe how fast the trees change, but I love it! Also you are such a great photographer!!
Mary Frances
Hiccups, yeah, there is always that fear that they’ll never stop. As my cousin said though, you’ll have fantastic abs … 😉
Girl, your socks are so cute and look so comfy!
Are those like cherry apples? They’re darling! They’d be so fun to bake with. Like, decorating cakes? Anyways, happy weekend Amanda!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I actually think they’re crab apples, so probably not the best to bake with 🙁 They sure are cute though!
Sarah Pie
Those chickpeas sound amazing!! And congrats on joining the world of fun colored socks, you’ll never turn back now 🙂
Jen @ pretty little grub
I love those bright socks! Brighter is always better 🙂
Janessa
Oh my goodness; where I live, we’re going through another Indian summer (probably the 1400th one in a row) BUT on the bright side, our backyard is starting to get into the autumnal spirit, regardless of what the weatherman predicts!
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I get the hiccups whenever I drink carbonized beverages. Those bubbles do something to me. 😉
Our leaves are still on and just starting to turn, although most are still green. It will actually be very beautiful here come the end of October. I’m hoping to go for a hike to witness just how gorgeous it can be. Road trips will also be fairly breathtaking come late October, early November. Just sayin’.
Way to branch out with the foot apparel there. I’m impressed and remind me to show you my sock drawer sometime. It’s an explosion of color.
Ashley @ MilesonOats
I am thinking that I could go for a huge Amanda hug right now and maybe ninja a pair of your skittle socks because I am diggin them. I am also thinking that seeing pictures of those gorgeous trees has me excited for my first fall here in Illinois where I can experience all 4 seasons, finally! Trees with leaves that change colors!! The things I am excited for…I’ve been a sheltered child. Clearly.
Now back to the rib crushing hug… 🙂 Missing your positive energy and smile lovely. I hope you are well <3
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’d be excited for changing leaves too! It’s honestly hard for me to imagine living in a place that doesn’t have all 4 seasons… and that has scorpions 😯
Brooke@SweetnSweaty
I can’t wait to make those chickpeas!!!!!
She Rocks Fitness
I have been so excited the past two nights that I was able to turn off the AC and open the windows…FRESH AIR please…My seasons are a heck of a lot different than yours…. 😉 XOXO
Sarah
Cutest socks ever! While one the subject of feet, aren’t the silica packets found in vitamin bottles the same that come in shoeboxes? (Shudders)
I cannot believe the difference in the trees. It is as though autumn is on fast forward.
In the interest of full confession, I stole the Sunday crossword puzzle from someone’s newspaper whilst on a morning run in college. I’m a thief.
Davida @ The Healthy Maven
Hi! I cannot believe fall is ending for you! It’s just starting here but in fact it’s in the 20s today and I was in shorts and t-shirt! DON’T END SUMMER!
Chelsea @ Chelsea's Healthy Kitchen
I hate how the leaves fall off the trees so quickly! Why can’t the trees stay leafy and colourful until November? It’s so gloomy once they fall off.
I had that guava GTs when we went to Whole Foods in Minneapolis – it was so good!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I honestly can’t believe that was over a year ago! I hope to see you again SOON.
Meredith
THE PILL BOTTLES! That’s how I feel about those stupid silica packs that they put with kale chips and in all of these bags claiming DO NOT EAT. I mean would anyone actually inspect it and then decide to eat it if the label wasn’t on there in shouting capital letters?
And i felt compelled to comment on this because i have never ending hiccups and the amount of times people ask me if I’m going to murder someone (literally there was a case with a lady murderer with chronic hiccups) is not okay. Mine is like one-two every half hour but still. Sitting in a silent lecture or church or anything without noise is awkward =l
Can’t wait to MAKE the chickpeas #pumpkineverything <3 and SEEEE that epic chocolate recipe Ah!
Laur
You should seriously consider asking your neighbor if you could read it, then return it before 4 every day. I am pretty sure she’d be okay with it! This way you don’t end up with the police at your front door 😀
Is this pudding made with green things cauuuuuse I tried a recipe for avocado pudding and it was delightful!
I can’t believe the trees change so fast. I just realized all of the ones around here are orange/red, so this means they’ll be naked in about 4 days. Of course we’ll get a storm which blows them all away when they’re at their pretty. This always seems to happen ><
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
😆 The green thing. And nope! Not avocado pudding… although I did try that before and it IS delightful. And that’s actually exactly what happened to us. It was super windy on the weekend, and it was bye-bye leaves…
Sarah @ KS Runner
I had surgery on my stomach/esophagus a few years ago and when I was healing, eating or drinking ANYTHING, even just a tiny bit, gave me hiccups. And it was the painful, last-way-too-long kind of hiccups. So I completely understand the fear of being one of those people who has never-ending hiccups.
It’s been in the mid 80s here the last week or so now, so it doesn’t even feel like fall right now! I’ve been waiting for fall since June! Argh!
Have a great rest of your week! 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Oh that sounds awful 🙁 I hope that you’re feeling better, Sarah!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
Wow, I can’t believe how quickly the weather is changing by you! Crazy. Definitely soak it all in! 😉
I LOVE your socks!! I’m usually a white sock kinda gal, but I’ve been eyeing some of those bright ones lately. How fun!
Ang @ Nutty for Life
CHOOOOCOLATE! need whatevs that is now.
So sad the leaves are already falling! Luckily we still have all of ours, they haven’t turned yet. I read that western PA will see peak foliage mid-october!
Erin
Oh my word- I love tiny foods! Those apples are adorable. Too bad they don’t taste as good as they look!
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves
Oh my goodness, when the leaves fall there, they FALL. I hope you enjoyed your fall season while it lasted. ♥
I really need to keep more up to date with current events. Since I don’t have access to the news via TV (laziness at best), I should probably check CNN.com at least, so I know what’s happening with the world around me. Thanks for reminding me!
Emily @ Sweets and Beets
The fall leaves are so pretty! And those socks are adorable! Sketchers- who knew? 🙂
Sammy @ Peace, Love and Ice Cream!
So much to comment on here – but I’ll leave you with this….I LOVE your fear of swallowing the vitamin moisture absorbent….so irrational yet YES it would be so scary!! LOL I’m full of irrational fears so I can appreciate it! Love Thursdays with you! XO
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Like not being able to sleep with the closet door open? Or not being able to sleep with even the teeny tiniest part of you going over the edge of the bed? YES!
Sammy @ Peace, Love and Ice Cream!
Aaaaand we’re like twins!!! 🙂
ganeeban
Those mini apples look so cute! Sketchers is coming up in the world, those sock color combos are awesome and bright, just how I like my workout clothes 🙂 xoxo, ganeeban
Carly @ Snack Therapy
Those apples! Awww :). Ugh and hiccups are the worst. I always get really violent and painful ones, usually when I’m somewhere super quiet. Awesome.
Brittany @ Delights and Delectables
My husband will hiccup twice and be done… i have the hiccups for 24 hours or more! 🙁 Fall is just starting here.. COME VISIT!
Leslie @ Life Begins at 30?
I love your fun socks! Those tiny apples are so cute. I wouldn’t be able to eat it! 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
That’s a good thing! Those suckers are as sour as lemons!
GiselleR @ Diary of an ExSloth
Clearly, you guys are hardcore with the cold up in Edmondon…I’m in shorts today cuz it’s getting up to 20C. And LOL @ your neighbor’s paper. I’d be that girl if I ever got the paper delivered haha
Flora
I love to see trees change colors during fall; most of the trees surrounding my home stay green year-round.
Hiccups are the worst! Especially when they go on and on.
Irina
Haha I use those vitamins too and always mentally complain/wonder about that weird little moisture absorber too! My thoughts are the same as yours…what if I swallow it accidentally one day? So weird…
The leaves are starting to change here in NYC as well, but one windy day often times means the end of those gorgeous colors 🙁 Fall is seriously the most fleeing season which is sad considering it’s perhaps the most beautiful!
Christine@ Apple of My Eye
Those socks are too cute! I’m actually on the opposite side of the spectrum of you and I don’t even think I own a single pair of black socks haha 😯 . Also, I’m jealous that you even have a Fall to lose…. I woke up sweating in my bed this morning since it was around 80 degrees at 7 am. California needs to step up its game haha.
LOVE the recipe for SS! Perfect for Fall (or whatever you can call the season I have around here..) snacking!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Yeah, Cali needs to hop on board the fall train. The palm trees need to lose their leaves or something 😛
Katie
Those chickpeas look amazing. And our fall is super short too, but on the opposite end- we don’t get “fall” until like Halloween or later!
xo
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
Wow you had a really short fall! It’s still 100 in AZ. Can you believe that? It’s usually in the 90s this time of year. I would be ok with a 10 degree difference so that I could bake more!
Shelly
I hate hiccups, but I do love me some Little Mermaid and Game of Thrones, and delicious chocolaty goodness.
Jo @ Living Mint Green
Please explain those tiny apples to me! Wait, are they crab apples? No thanks…
Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne
So I definitely think you should borrow your neighbor’s paper hahaha. And that apple!! I want to get a bunch of those and decorate my house!! And those leaves being gone is sad :(. Over here in California, I have yet to see much color change, but woke up this morning to it pouring rain, to say I was happy about that was an understatement haha. And yay for the Guava!!! I drank that one this morning 🙂
Lauren
Boo I miss summer. I’m already feeling too cold. That chocolate sauce or frosting looks AMAZING.
Cassie
Yesterday I got soooo sad thinking about how I have to start wearing a coat in the mornings soon! I don’t want winter to come!!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
But fall/winter fashion is SO pretty!
