Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!
1. Too soon! We’re losing fall way too soon! If you recall, this is what our trees looked like just last week…
And this is what they look like this week…
So if you’re wondering why I get so overly excited about fall it’s because I have to take advantage of it while I can and concentrate all of my love for it into a few short weeks!
2. Speaking of fall, I hope you’re not getting tired of the recipes because I’ve got another one to share with ya! I recently posted some Crunchy Pumpkin Spice Roasted Chickpeas over on Savory Style, so go check em out if you’re looking for a deeee-licious healthy snack option for these cozier fall days!
3. Can we talk about something bizarre for a second? Like the irrational fear I have of this thing right here?
What is “this thing right here?” That, my friends, would be the moisture absorber for a bottle of vitamins… and I’m afraid of it because I can’t help but think that one day it’ll come out when I shake the bottle (as it often does), and I won’t notice and end up swallowing it instead of my vitamins… which, of course, only leads to visions of me needing to get my stomach pumped or something equally as unpleasant 😯
4. And while we’re on the topic of irrational fears… let’s talk about hiccups. I rarely ever get them, and I’m super thankful for that fact because every time they do come around, I can’t help but wonder if I’ll become one of those poor unfortunate souls (Little Mermaid, anyone?!) that develop never-ending hiccups. I’m sorry, but how terrible would that be 😯

5. Shifting gears to more pleasant topics… how freaking cute are my new socks?!?
I wear plain black socks about 99.9% of the time, but I was after something a little more fun and basically fell in love with those as soon as I saw them. Love at first sight — it’s a very real thing, my friends.
6. So are these teeny, tiny apples!
From what I remember, however, they are not as delicious as they are cute… So keep in mind — looks can often be deceiving 😉
7. Except for when it comes to things like this…
… because that really is as good as it looks. Now hopefully I can keep myself from eating it all so that I can actually share the recipe that involves that wonderfully chocolatey creation with you soon!
8. Exciting news! Well, exciting to me anyways, since it probably won’t make a lick of difference to you. But I’ve finally been seeing some new kombucha flavours here in my neck of the woods!
Normally I could only have the guava and mango ones when I was down in the States, but it looks like they’ve become a permanent thing, so… #happydance. Now if only they didn’t cost $4.50 a bottle…
9. And while we’re on the topic of news, care to see how I stay up-to-date on current events? Voila!
That right there would be my neighbour’s newspaper 😆 Most of the time she doesn’t end up taking it in until waaaaay later in the day (we’re talking 4 – 5 PM), so I catch glimpses of the headlines whenever I go in/out of my home. Heck, I could probably take the whole paper, read it, and put it back without her noticing. And in case you’re wondering — no, I haven’t done it… yet 😛
10. And that’s it for me this week! I hope you guys are having an awesome Thursday, and I’ll see you tomorrow with either a recipe or… something else 😆 … depending on how motivated I’m feeling. Oh, and one last thing! How crazy is it that this is the last Thursday of September?! By this time next week, it’ll be a whole new month… Okay, bye! 😀
No questions… just tell me whatever comes to your mind! 😀

your colourful socks make me want to buy new socks…except I really, really shouldn’t because I have so many pairs of socks it’s ridiculous. Last year for Christmas, my ex’s mother literally bought me like 40 pairs of socks. I have told everyone in my family that they are no longer allowed to buy them for me.
My health food store started stocking the mystic mango flavour!! Which makes me happy because that is definitely my favourite. The guava one is awesome…but I have to give it to mango as being the best.
Also, I don’t know what that chocolate thing is but I want it. Of course.
Brittany
OMG WHAT!? Your fall is so sad, WHY does it come and go so quickly. NOT OK. Those apples, SO CUTE. I actually used to get only one hiccup, it was very bizarre and it was a BIG one that was quite obnoxious. Now I think I’m “normal” and get multiple in a row.
Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat
I’ve actually only roasted chickpeas one time. I loved them, so I have no idea why I haven’t done it more than once. They’re definitely a perfect crunchy snack! I totally need to make them again. There’s no excuse because it was super simple!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
It’s always like that tho, eh? Sometimes the simplest things are the most difficult to get around to making yourself. Like how I can’t seem to bring myself to make hummus 😆
Nessa @ Ness Runs
September has gone by ridiculously fast, winter is officially on its way and I’m a kinda excited/kinda sad about that!
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment
That is really cool for vitamins! I will have to check it out.
Alex @ Alex Tries it Out
It’s so funny how people are about socks – like, I never where anything but white socks. But you stick to black. But then sometimes I want to be one of those people that does own like a thousand pairs of fun colored socks. You know??
Also, I always wondered why that weird thing was in my pill bottle. Lol!
Arlene
Hahaha that moisture absorber, I have the same fear! The first time it comes out of the bottle I get rid of it! Annoying bugger….. Have a great day Amanda.
Sam @ Pancakewarriors
Amanda I laughed so much as your hiccup thought. I have annoying never ending hiccups and Dave actually makes fun of me for how annoying they are. Hope you have been able to enjoy your short fall. I have a feeling it will be like that around here too. 🙁 cant wait to see your chocolate recipe!
Meg
This is going to make me sound like a moron, but when I was little I actually did eat one of those “do not eat” things in a package of beef jerky…I mean it’s questionable as to what kind of affect it had on me…somedays I wonder. Haha! But really, they should make those suckers larger. Or neon pink…or something, you know?
Have a wonderful day.
p.s. that is the cutest apple EVA!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Well it’s good to know that nothing horrible happened to you! Maybe now I won’t be so wary of those suckers…
Sky @ Blonde Freedom
I’m dying for fall to really get started down here, but for now I’ll enjoy fall vicariously through you! And yeah that weird thing that comes in vitamins is just…weird. I always wonder what is inside and what it does. I want some of whatever your making with that bowl of chocolate! Yummm!
eisha
I love your Thinking Out Loud Posts!
You are sooo cute! I totally agree with number one – the cold is coming too quick! I want to walk on leaves and hear the crunch! That’s my favorite fall activity! I LOVE playing with the leaves lol
And I want that yummy-licious recipe too! LOL

Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Awwr thanks, Eisha! 🙂 Happy Thursday to ya!
Alyssa @ For Food and Health
Wow that stinks about the leaves already! Here in Buffalo, they’re still as green as they were in July!
Christine
I would totally ask your neighbor f you can share the newspaper! Why not! Once I read my magazines, I usually hand them out to friends. And I’m glad more people can make use of it.
lindsay
we have yet to see a change in fall here.. now maybe you should come visit. And we have all those kombucha flavors! i’ll share!
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
New kombucha flavors is always reason to celebrate! And those socks are really cute! Me and my girls seem to have a weakness for neon socks. They always mix up their pairs to get really crazy too.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More
I’m aware it’s weird but I DO hiccup once…not all the time, but it’s not uncommon for me to get a single hiccup! LOL!
Jen @ Bagels to Broccoli
Ha, oh my gosh…the mini apple thing has totally gotten me before! I’m going apple picking on Saturday so I’m really excited to come home and bake bake bake! Sad about the leaves changing so quickly there – they just started to in Boston!
Ashley @ KickAshMom.com
I can not wait to pick some apples. Those are pretty darn cute. I actually do have a problem with hiccuping once. It’s weird and my mom does it too. I hate when I get a full case!
Diana @sosmallsostrong
OMG I don’t own a pair of black socks. I’m so happy you’re going colorful! It’ll brighten up each day I promise.
Idk why but I can imagine you with mug in hand sitting on your neighbors door, reading her paper and just nodding at people walking past…hahaha I know we don’t know each other well but you should totally do that!! 🙂
Have a beautiful day. xoxo
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Maaaaaaybe I would 😉 Happy Thursday, Diana!
Tina Muir
WHOA! Your leaves are almost gone already! You need to take one of your trips and come stay with my in KY, ours haven’t even started yet 🙂 That apple is adorable, but the complete opposite of what I love, all about big apples! Oh yeah, and hiccups…..somehow, I often just hiccup once or maybe twice….cross between a burp and hiccups I guess…..a biccup!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ll bring the maple. You stock the AB 😉
Katie @ Daily Cup of Kate
The leaves are just turning here in Wisconsin and it is bittersweet for sure! I know within a week or so we will be spending or evenings raking leaves in the backyard 🙁
Brynn
Kombucha is so delicious. It freaked me out when I first saw it and was almost too intimidated to try. But I love it and there are so many awesome flavors.
Also, I love the socks! Happy feet!
David
Loving the new colourful socks!! 🙂
Susie @ SuzLyfe
Our dogs used to retrieve the newspaper for us, and often would grab the neighbor’s as well, particularly if ours hadn’t come yet (Peach, who was in charge, would get very frustrated at the prospect of failure). It’s hard to pretend that your dog hasn’t stolen the newspaper when their are giant bite marks involved…
Jen @ SavedbytheKale
When I was younger I remember seeing something on the news or a show or something about people who got the hiccups and never stopped. It scared me to death!
Also side note I am glad you mentioned Hard as Nails the other day. I had forgotten about that stuff and I bought a bottle a couple of weeks ago and my nails have been loving it! 🙂
Linda @ Fit Fed and Happy
I didn’t know such things like vitin moistureizers existed. I just eat the vitamins. Are they gummy form or hard form?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
They actually come in all my pill bottles — gel, capsule, and pill.
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape
David will be sooo pleased when I tell him about your new colourful socks! 🙂
I don’t mind hiccups but I HATE sneezing! I actually get really grumpy or sad when I sneeze, I just don’t like the way it makes me feel and I do everything to try and stop having one. So thankful I don’t have any allergies!
Jessie
You should totally be a bada** rebel & read her newspaper one day 🙂
Chelsea
The exact same thing is happening here with fall…we had a huge wind storm over the weekend and a lot of the leaves are down now!!! It’s also been mega cold!
Uhm. That’s not an irrational fear at all. I totally think those things are creepy. Once I was enthusiastically eating kale chips and got one in my mouth. Luckily I noticed quickly…..
In loveee with your socks!!!
meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles
I finally canceled my newspaper because I felt like I was spending money on something that I can read for free online. It wasn’t an easy decision because I grew up reading the paper and honestly still miss it lol. Online news reading isn’t the same even though by the time I get the paper, it’s old news.
Hollie
I’m honestly really glad this month flew by. I cannot wait for T to get back and this was the “hard month” if you will. It’s also hard to believe how fast the leaves are changing. It seems like in the blink of an eye September is gone and late night daylight is gone with it. I like the chill in the air though.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m glad that you’ll be reunited with your man soon! Being apart is so rough… and I imagine it’s even worse when you’re planning a wedding. But at least you kept busy 🙂
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out
Ha! I love your socks! Fun colors are always more exciting!
Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness
This month FLEW by. I can’t believe its already the last thursday of the month. and wow i cant believe how fast all those leaves fell off the trees! The trees are just starting to turn here, soo they’ll probably be bare by next week. I want those socks! Have a great day girlie!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs for Food
That’s so sad that fall is already leaving you so quickly! Being so close to the beach, our leaves don’t usually start to turn for real until October and I love it.
Whatever chocolatey goodness you’re working on, I can’t wait to see it!
Khushboo
Last Thursday of the month?? Already?? Wow September sure flew by in a blink of a eye! Before we know it, we’ll be toasting to the start of 2015- yikes! OMG I just clicked over to the hiccupping link and my heart reaches out for that poor girl…even just a few minutes of hiccupping makes me miserable! Although they say it’s a sign that someone is remembering you so that’s always a nice thought! I’m obsessed with your socks- so snazzy! I tend to only buy printed socks, which is why 99% of mine are covered in roses, cherries, and polka dots haha! And if there’s one thing I’ve learned about fruit is that the uglier they are, the yummier they seem to be..which explains the lack of taste in that cutesy apple!
Lucie@FitSwissChick
Hiccups!! So mean. Especially when you want to say something and get interrupted by it.
It feels like I am the only one who can not get on that Kombucha thing. I tried it in NYC and both me and Sandro were like…….what? But oh well, that only means there is more for you 🙂
That chocolate cream on the other hand……oh man. Hand me a tissue!! 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
No coffee and no kombucha?! Girlllll! How are we supposed to be friends?!
Lucie
Hm. Chocolate, Almond Butter, Kabocha, snowboarding….?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
You make good points 😛 <3 you
Shashi @ RunninSrilankan
Oh dear – now you have me freaking out about that moister absorber in my vitamin bottle too..would it absorb all the moisture in ma belly -if swallowed??? What would that entail??? GAH!!!!
And double GAH -winter is coming too fast and Iam not ready!!! A friend of mine used to have an apple tree in his backyard and it used to have the smallest, nastiest apples ever – so yup – in this case size does matter!
Heading over to Savory Style to read that Crunchy Pumpkin Spice Roasted Chickpeas recipe…
Ms.J
Welcome to the fun side of socks 😀 ! I’m positive I do not possess a single black pair. We don’t see apples that tiny in these parts 😯 .
Arman @ thebigmansworld
As if you don’t read that newspaper and then put it back in place- your immaculate skills could origami that mofo back to initial style.
Mini apples are very deceiving. I ate one and it was like a lemon…in apple form. Your city gives new meaning to global warming.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I love that you assume my obvious talent in ALL things 😛
