Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!
1. I’ve had a few people mention that they were missing the days where I used to include random facts in my ToL posts, so they’ll be making a comeback!
1. Wellllll, he helped make it popular on this side of the ocean, anyways… which is good enough for me!
2. It’s also considered an offense to push a live moose out of a moving airplane… Just saying.
3. Here are a few recipes if you’re interested!
4. … which is exactly why I used to drink straight from the honey bear when I was little.
5. Admit it — you just did it. Confesion — I did 😉 And I’m in the clear! Thank you, oil pulling…
2. And here’s a little random fact about yours truly — I always keep my phone on silent because otherwise I find the texts, tweets, e-mails, and other notifications to be way too distracting. I totally lose my train of thought if I’m writing or working on something and I get a ping, so I just leave my phone off and check it at random intervals. I actually don’t even know what my ring tune sounds like 😯
3. I do know what I’ll be doing with these overly spotty bananas, though!
Can we say flourless banana bread muffins?!? Oh.heck.YES.
4. The other day I almost bled to death from a nick on my finger that had a diameter of about 2 mm (that’s 0.08 inches for all my American peeps). Not even kidding. I didn’t think much of it until I looked down and saw the entire tip of my finger covered in blood. The dratted thing ended up soaking through a whole sheet of Kleenex and 2 Bandaids. Seriously… you’d think I sliced off a chunk of my finger or something. I’ll save you the gory visuals, but this is the cut that was responsible (hint: it’s on my index finger). I know — I couldn’t believe it either…
5. Lookit what I came across when I was in the bookstore the other day…
Emoji stickers! They didn’t end up coming home with me, which is a fact that I’m kind of starting to regret… I think another trip to the bookstore might be in order.
6. As for why I was in the bookstore in the first place… new books!
I tried to get into one of the books I already had in my stack after finishing Throne of Glass, but I really wanted to know how the story continued so I went out and bought the next two books. I foresee a few late nights in my near future…
7. I also foresee sharing the recipe for the crepes that I showed in yesterday’s WIAW post since so many of you were interested. Now to actually pay attention to the measurements so I don’t end up with a recipe that says “just add a little of this and a splash of that until you reach the right consistency.” Not helpful.
8. I can never decide whether I prefer smooth or crunchy nut butters. Remember how I announced the death of my Wowbutter stash last week? Well, I went to pick up some more only to find that they only had the crunchy kind in stock. I’m usually a smooth kind of girl, but I figured that crunchy Wowbutter was better than no Wowbutter at all, so I brought a jar home with me.
Verdict? Not bad at all! The crunch makes things interesting 😆
9. Speaking of Wowbutter… guess who got her mom hooked on it?!? I never thought I’d see the day where my very traditionally Polish mom would jump on the banana & nut butter snack bandwagon, but miracles do happen! And the fact that she was willing to let me take a picture of it is more proof of that.
10. And speaking of Mom… Mother’s Day is coming up soon and I managed to convince my momma to take a trip to the mountains with me for a girls’ weekend away 😀 Maybe I’ll even get lucky and be able to sneak another snowboarding trip in there too! But for now, off to get my hair done. Happy Thursday!

That crepe looks delicious!! Loving the emoji stickers!!
Mollie @Sprinkles of Life
Those crepes look perfect! Excited to check out the recipe!!
Have a great weekend in the mountains with your mamma!!
Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne
I seriously need to make those flourless muffins or some kind of GF muffin this weekend, I’ve been craving them like crazy lately. Or really, I’ve been craving those coconut donuts I made for easter last month. I have a huge sweet tooth lately haha. And I’m the same way! I have to keep my phone on silent or I’ll never get anything done, one distraction always leads to me just wandering around the internet.
Brianna
I laughed out loud at the emoji stickers.
I love the idea of keeping your phonon silent. I should start doing that too. The one problem for me is my iPhone vibrates so loudly that I can hardly call it “silent” while it’s just sitting on a counter. However, the do not disturb feature might have to be used more often.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Oh the vibrating drove me NUTS before I turned it off. You can just switch it off in the settings 🙂
Erin @ The Almond Eater
The return of the uber facts! Yay! I am sooo bad at remembering to measure out ingredients and then it takes me at least 3 tries to get a recipe right… one day I might learn.. maybe.
Khushboo
Oh heck yes about that crepe recipe- can’t wait! That’s so cute your mom is on board with the banana/nut butter combo! I won’t lie- I was pleasantly surprise when my mom asked me to make her some chia pudding! Glad I’m no the only one who leaves her phone on silent- there’s something about not looking at it for a while and then the thrill of seeing a number of notifications at once.. I just reread that and yes feel free to call me a nerd ;)!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’d be calling myself one as well because that’s seriously one of my favourite things about it. Makes you feel super cool 😉
Sarah @pickyrunner
The vibrating phone. You just named my BIGGEST pet peeve (not when it vibrates, but when someone leaves it on a ringer). I have friends that do that and I get really annoyed/distracted. That and when the phone is on a table and vibrating every 2 seconds. I like it on my body so it doesn’t make noise. Your mother’s day sounds perfect! I miss being home for it. Just one more…
Emma @ Life's A Runner
Oh my goodness that cut thing always happens to me. I will be going about my business and then all of a sudden both my hands are literally covered in blood and I look like I’m an ax murderer…not very conducive to increasing customer satisfaction with making their coffee. 😉
Amy @ Long Drive Journey
My phone is always on vibrate. It’s crazy, but I have learned how to identify my vibration sound even when my phone is in the other room. Also, small cuts can do a lot of damage! Glad you are okay, and at least your nails look fabulous.
Susie @ Suzlyfe
I’ve only had the crunchy version of Wowbutter, so I definitely commend you on that decision! And OF COURSE TJ helped to “invent” mac and cheese. He founded UVA, that bastion of American collegiate and architectural brilliance, and my alma mater, so how could he NOT do something equally as awesome as put mac and cheese together? TRUE BRILLIANCE this man.
Maija
Haha, the random facts are back. Yay! I just realised you are on instagram and then I read this post and as usually, my attention was drawn to the books. 🙂 Have you ever considered keeping track of your reading at goodreads.com? I just recently found it and I’m trying to convince everyone into using it because a) it is awesome and b) it is always so inspiring to see what others have been reading. By the way, I’m also in the silent phone club, but… my phone has a tiny light that lits up so I get distracted anyway. 😀
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I seriously love that site and WISH I had time to be a part of it it. But between writing for the blog, work, studying, and some other freelance work I do, I just don’t have the time. The day needs more hours!
Davida @ The Healthy Maven
My phone is on silent too…which becomes a major issue when I lose it daily or sleep through important phone calls. I also don’t have a case which means I am basically asking for something bad to happen to it! Must rectify that but I legit hate every case I see!
lindsay
enjoy that trip to the mountains! what a perfect gift, along with some wow butter. 😉
Pip {Cherries & Chisme}
YAY so excited for the crepe recipe 😀
Totally do the same with my phone, and turn it over so that I don’t see stuff flashing up on the screen… I guess it would make better sense to just turn it off ha!
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves
Thank you, Thomas Jefferson! 😀 And I totally did the breath-wrist check. I just brushed my teeth though, so I sorta cheated.
What a smart idea to turn off your phone sounds while working! I should definitely do that to avoid the procrastination monster that attacks me every day.
Hooray for Mama Spoons jumping onto the {absolutely awesome} nut butter banana bandwagon! 🙂 I need to get my mom on that.
Heather @ PrettyHealthyMostoftheTime
Did the emoji stickers have duplicate pages? I don’t know about anyone else but I would definitely need extras of the awkward faces!
I’m excited for this crepe recipe!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
It was a pretty thick pack of ’em, but I’m not sure if it was just because there was that many different stickers or if some were duplicate. I have my favourites as well 😀
Shannon
Your phone case is SO CUTE OH MY GOSH. I love pandas. 🙂
I just finished my mother’s day card too for this weekend! Phew. I make mine every year, so that was a fun time 🙂
I’ll take all the flourless banana muffins puhleeeease <3
Heather @fitncookies
Kool Aid can be made into Gatorade?! No way! Whispering in someones ear.. that’s weird, ha. I do love these random facts! More snowboarding?! Oh girl, I’m so over the snow, haha. I have had cuts on my finger like that and they hurt worse than anything! I should get on the mother’s day gift thing.. hmm.. maybe that’s my Saturday project, lol.
Miss Polkadot
Guess who got her mom maybe not hooked but convinced of coconut butter’s magic?! I prepared a batch of Kabocha Lentil Stew when she visited me months ago and added some more coconut butter to my bowl declaring it made it even tastier. She tried it and happily accepted my offer to make her a jar. Which – thinking of it – I still owe her…
The banana dipping is something I could rather see my dad doing. Maybe because he’s the only one in my family who actually eats bananas as is and not just in fruit salad – or oat bran. (:
Also thanks for making me feel less weird about keeping my phone silent all of the time. Though I’m probably still odd for even turning the vibration alert off. That’s actually annoying because I don’t notice calls anymore but it was necessary after I downloaded Viber because the constant buzzing drove me crazy.
Enjoy your mum-and-daughter getaway on the weekend! And you’re off to get your hair done? Any wild plans??
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I can’t have my vibrate on either — that’s just as distracting as having pings! And no wild haircuts this time around… just a badly needed trim and lots of choppy layers 🙂
Nicole @ FruitnFitness
I’m sure you and yor momma will have a fab weekend! I prefer crunchy peanut butter but the only kind Costco sells is smooth and smooth is better than none. I follow a few odd facts on twitter, sometimes of just wonder who thought up something like that, and why does everyone want to know about it. But I’m guilty of finding it interesting too!
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables
I’m definitely a crunchy PB fan! And those emoji stickers are awesome!
Laura @ Raise Your Garden
As much as I love your recipe for flourless banana muffins, you hooked me when you said your mom is Polish!
I think I live in the polish capitol of the world where there are butter lambs……I’m sure you know what butter lambs are, no explanation needed! Ha.
I mean, proud and Polish is the way to be here. What a fun blog to read!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Awwr thanks girl! Both of my parents are actually Polish and moved here a few years before I was born. And I’m well acquainted with butter lambs… and sugar lambs as well 😆
meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles
OMG I must get those emoji stickers for a certain someone’s birthday gift! OMG so so perfect. I need to find them today.
Cori @ olivetorun.com
I have always been the same way about my phone… It is ALWAYS on silent unless I am waiting for a call I really do not want to miss. Even then the sound hurts my ears. 🙂
ANDDDD I need those stickers.
Lauren
haha I definitely just licked my hand!
I always keep my phone on silent too – I can’t be doing with annoying notification sounds!
And I had the exact same thing re cut last week. I had one on my thumb that would just not stop bleeding! Like you, anyone would think I had severed my thumb off!
Enjoy your weekend in the mountains with your mama 🙂
Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely
Emoji stickers?! I’m pretty sure I need those. And I’m anxiously awaiting that crepe recipe! I’m so glad you decided to bring back the random facts. I’d totally forgotten about them, but I love them!
Megan @ Meg Go Run
That sounds fun for you two! I hope you and your mom have a blast. I am taking my mom to lunch and still now sure what to get her. She’s so hard to buy for!
Amanda @runtothefinish
Agreed mine is always on silent too, which means I actually miss a number of phone calls for which I apologize but my sanity is so worth it :0)
Ok now I need t o go eat some nut butter
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
😆 I’m the same way with missing phone calls. That being said, I actually hate talking on the phone so I’ll usually text the person back first and see what they wanted…
Hollie
I am the exact same way regarding cell phones. I have to keep mine on silent otherwise it is way to distracting for me to focus. At work I just keep it in my car and don’t worry about it because there isn’t a need to check it. It actually feels really good to be disconnected.
I must have those emoji stickers. They are awesome.
Chelsea
I have alwayyys preferred crunchy nut butters (twss), but I have recently learned to eat the creamy ones too. Basically, I just want nut butter. In any form possible.
Chelsea
Also. I’ve started leaving my phone on silent all the time too. The noise just started annoying me. Plus, it’s exciting to look at it after a while and see a lot of notifications *dork*
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut
I am with you on wanting to see multiple notifications! Like when you wake up and haven’t looked for 7-8 hours. 😉
Tiff @ Love, Sweat & Beers
Those crepes again… droooool. 🙂 Have fun on your girls’ weekend!!!
Carmy
Your phone case is adorable! My phone is also always on vibrate for the same reasons and the couple times I’ve accidentally turned vibrate off, my ring tone would startle me/I wouldn’t recognize it! Haha
Jenn@ Mark My Miles!
I am waiting patiently for that recipe : )
I keep my phone on silent most of the time too, I find it a lot less distracting.
Juli @1000lovelthings
Those stickers are awesome!
My phone is usually silent, too. Way too distracting!
I was already wondering yesterday if you have that crepe recipe anywhere. Hope iot comes soon!
Have a lovely Thursday 🙂
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Don’t worry, I keep my phone silent all the time too! But it has this bar at the top that flashes green if I missed a call or text…or get a twitter notification, etc. haha!
Shashi @ RunninSrilankan
#1: Uber fact #3 – WOW – I had no clue – makes me reconsider drinking another Gatorade!
I am still battling the “..add a little of this and a splash of that” demons… one of my favorites ” a dash or a pinch”…cannot wait for those crepes!
Awww…you are a good daughter – hope you have a blast with your mom on yalls trip! Happy Mom’s day to her 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I think that’s generally why I prefer sharing baking recipes as opposed to cooking ones — it’s so much easier to get the measurements exact since it goes by science rather than taste. Now watch me not be able to recreate the recipe when I try to measure it 😆
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Pretty sure I asked to give you a hair chop. I even have an amazing bowl in mind to put on top and cut around. Crunchy nut butter > smooth nut butter. Seriously.
I think my sister would throw a pie at you to have that phone case..she is obsessed with pandas!
