1. Coffee is good. But a surprise afternoon coffee date with Mom is better. Going in the memory jar for sure.
2. Why does my nail polish chip so quickly?! It barely even lasted a whole day! This reminds me of why I go through phases of not painting my nails for months, but given how ridiculously cloudy and gray our weather has been lately, I decided to cheer myself up by putting a bright and happy color on my nails (OPI’s That’s Hot).
3. Anyone remember the show Whose Line Is It Anyway? I miss it! Always good for a laugh…

5. I think I’m going to have to start buying floral scented hand soaps. It’s not a good thing when I get hungry every time I wash my hands. Bath & Body Works is trying to ruin my waistline.
6. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this, but I’m a ninja by night. Just call me Karinka-toteka.
7. I have no idea what to do with my finished puzzle. It seems a bit counterproductive to just tear it to pieces after I spent so long putting it together, but… what else is there? I can’t exactly leave it lying on my coffee table…
8. I think current song obsessions are becoming a weekly thing here on Spoons. This week’s tune? Stompa by Serena Ryder. Kind of freaky how much like Adele she sounds.

I love that soap!! Just used it at my daughter’s dance class and you’re right…it sent my sweet tooth into overdrive! Coffee dates with mom are the best….definitely jar worthy.
I LOVE bath and body works soaps and candle scents…I strictly stick to baked good smells or really good fruity ones. My favs rights now=gingerbread (soap and plug in), frosted cupcake (candle)…nut roll (I didn’t buy this candle but I was SO tempted), smores (plug in…IT’S AMAZING). I really wish they would make BODY fragrances/lotions that smell as good as their handwashes/candles. I stopped getting their body fragrances unless it’s a limited one like mango coconut or something fruity like that. I don’t get anything even REMOTELY close to flower smells because one time I got their lemongrass body spray and I realized after several days of being stalked by bees that it was attracting them! I was hoping the smell would be attractive….to men…not bees.
Frosted Cupcake is one of my favorite candles by B&BW. And omigosh I’d be freaking if I was being stalked by bees… maybe I’ll stick to the baked good smells as well 😆

I loooved this post from beginning to end!! I totally remember that tv show – it was so funny – I remember almost crying from laughing so hard! I have an idea for your puzzle – you can buy puzzle glue and glue it together and then frame it!
Unfortunately I have no ideas on nail polish – mine never lasts more than a day or so – that’s why I tend to wear more neutral colors – less likely to see the chips !!
I usually go for neutrals for the same reason, but I needed some cheering up in this drab weather 😡

I hate hate hate how my nail polish always chips so quickly too! Even the good OPI stuff doesn’t last more than a day without chipping or peeling. But I’m stubborn and love having my nails painted so I pretty much don’t go too long without repainting them.
I love the surprise coffee date with your mom! Mine doesn’t drink coffee but I suppose we could still go to Starbucks and she could just get a tea…
Yeah my mom ended up just getting a tea as well because she can’t drink any coffee in the afternoon. It’s all about the company anyways 🙂

I never wear nail polish because I don’t know how to apply it myself without getting it all over my fingers. Seriously I think a 3 year old could do a better job than me. 😛

i love your memory jar idea! I bet dec 31 will be a fun one when you go back and reread everything! And I totally feel you about the nails!! – It only takes me about 2 seconds to ruin/chip my nails after i paint them. I have found that using OPI’s ‘from start to finish’ clear polish helps with the chips a bit. Lovin that color btw!
Oh and I still haven’t tried sugar cookie tea and am totally curious about how it tastes!
!!! You have to try it! If I lived in the States and could get it any time, I’d definitely be stocking up for the year whenever it was out. It seriously tastes like drinking a cookie – which sounds weird, but tastes delicious!

SERIOUSLY my nails chip so easily. Its really annoying. And then because I have to constantly re-apply polish, my nails become brittle and break. UGH. Its a viciousy cycle.

I love surprise dates with my Mom! Mom and daughter time is always appreciated, especially when it includes coffee. I’m SOSO jealous of your sugar cookie tea collection ha! It’s so sad how we can’t find it here. Boo to that. I’m the absolute worst with nail polish. Within a minute or two after painting my nails, I forget they’re drying and chip them. Pet peeve! I’ve heard good things about shellac manicures! Good luck at the Doctor!
You can always get one of those quick drying top coats! You put it on and your nails are dry within a couple minutes so you don’t have to worry about smudging them! Sally Hansen, Essie, and Seche Vite are a few of my favorite ones.
I have started painting my fingernails more often, but I am in the same boat as you. It never lasts longer than a few days before it starts chipping, which is so frustrating. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother! 😉 I am much more likely to paint my toe nails since those paint jobs seems to last A LOT longer.

We bother because it’s so pretty and fun while it’s on there! I can’t help but smile when I look at a happy, bright color on my nails, which is especially useful when the weather outside is so gray and drab.
I wish I could paint my nails… since I’m in the Army and wear my uniform the only colors I can wear have to be ‘subdued’ and ‘match’ with the uniform. i.e. nasty green/greys and boringness. No pink 🙁
I glue all my completed puzzles! There’s jigsaw puzzle glue at all craft stores-works like a charm !
Good luck at the doctors! I go for a yearly check up but always hate going! I have the hardest time getting my nail polish to stay on. It chips usually right away for me especially with crossfit. I’m so bad too once it starts chipping I pick at until it’s off.
Eee that’s exactly what I start doing when my polish starts chipping… I pick away at it until it’s all gone, which I think just ends up damaging my nails a little bit 😕
You should consider getting a shellac manicure. They usually last up to 3 weeks 🙂

GAH I have the same problem with my nail polish..I end up re-doing mine every 2 days because I ALWAYS wear polish for some reason. It kinda does help when you put a base coat and a top coat on but I guess I’m a bit lazy with that.

I spend a lot of time in doctor’s offices lately so I normally know if my blood pressure is in check and such things. For nails, mine chip all.the.time. so I started getting gel manicures. They last about 2-3 weeks and although they are pricey-ish… I think it’s worth the money because they don’t really chip.

I’ve been thinking about gel manicures, but the problem is that I usually get bored of having one color on for so long and end up wanting to change it. 😆 It seems like there’s just no winning.
I have the same problem with nail polish – I never bother because it chips immediately! Although it seems to last longer when it’s professionally done, so maybe I just need to go get a manicure :-p
NO FREAKING WAY, my friday night when i was in middle school was my sister and I watching whose line is it anyways, we adored it. just freaking loved it. my dream was to be on that show. I still crack up at their jokes. I am a huge fan of vanilla smelling anything, i think it is the sweetness that makes me just want to eat myself when i put it on

I know what you mean about the yummy smelling hand soap too…Mine is pumpkin spice scented and it makes me want a pumpkin cupcake every time I wash my hands 🙂

Ok Sugar Cookie tea is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m obsessed with it haha I just stocked up myself 😉 That Twilight picture cracked me up.. anything Twilight related cracks me up though– I was more of a Harry Potter fan myself 😉

Ohh thank you for reminding me about the memory jar! As soon as I read your number 1, I went and filled in entries for the last 4 days and then continued reading ha! Can I come over for tea? I do love me some coffee but the sound of “Sugar Cookie” tea gets me every time! Love that OPI color- so bold! I used to ALWAYS put polish on my nails but then the chipping started to piss me off ha ha…so most of the time I leave them au naturel! My feet, however, are always painted. Living in a city where it’s flip flop weather all year long makes it difficult to go without :)!
Also perhaps you can frame the puzzle? Could be cool to hang up!

I’ve actually noticed that OPI tends to stick to my nails a lot better than Essie does. Sad because I really do love some of the Essie colors… but yeah, I think I’ll be sticking to OPI from now on.
That nail colour is fantastic! If only my nails looked more acceptable I’d totally paint them. But … yes, not so much.

i never do my own nails because they always look like a child went after me with a jar of brightly colored paint. i only ever get manicures when i’m feeling particularly splurge-y and then i always go for the gel because otherwise i get mad with how quickly it chips. also i definitely feel you on the puzzle thing – i hate taking them apart when i’m done (especially when i’ve spent HOURS working on them!!!) but then i also don’t like them taking up space on my table. i don’t do puzzles often probably for this reason. it’s so much work for so little result once you’ve put it away!
Good luck for the doctor’s appointment! I have the same with the nails. It lasts 1, max. 2 days. I have an intention to color my nails for about 3 weeks now. Did not happen so far, even though I actually love it….I even bought new OPI colors!
