Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!
1. Oh hi there!
I thought I’d start off this Thursday with a smiling face and proof that I actually wear something other than black and/or grey… even if it’s just white and grey π I know, I know — it wouldn’t hurt me to introduce a little more colour into my life — but wearing colour just makes me feel all out of sorts. I can do pops of colour with accessories and makeup and what not, but when it comes to actual clothes? I like to stick to a pretty neutral palette. It just feels more me.
2. Speaking of colour, remember how I ordered this Enchanted Forest adult colouring book over a month ago? Well, it still hasn’t come. Heck, I haven’t even gotten an e-mail saying it’s been shipped yet. I know they said it might take 4-6 weeks because they were out of stock, but daaaaaaamn… I was hoping they were kidding! This is what I get for wanting something that apparently everyone else wants as well. All I can say is that it better be worth it…
3. But at least I’ve had other books to keep me busy…
I’m currently reading Red Seas Under Red Skies, and I’m really liking it so far. It’s the second book in the Gentlemen Bastards series by Scott Lynch, which actually makes me think of a fantasy-world Snatch meets Ocean’s Eleven. Thieves, egos, plots, grand schemes… the whole nine yards. It can be a little vulgar at times, but I love the humour, I love the wit, I love the writing, and I love the main character. I was actually crazy disappointed when I finished the first book, not because I didn’t like how it ended, but because I was sad that it ended… especially because I didn’t have the next book on hand to keep going. In any case… love it. Highly recommend it.
4. Also highly recommend staying away from these if you see them…
Now… I realize I may be slightly biased here since I kind of, sort of developed an instant aversion to them when I made myself sick after eating an entire box in one day, but still… That was probably a good 12+ years ago, and the thought of them still makes me feel a little queasy. You’ve been warned.
5. So guess who’s back at Starbucks?!? This girl!
It’s been a good handful of months since I stopped going to Bux daily (I blame the milk frother), but I had to rekindle my relationship with my window booth after my AC decided to break down on me when it was plus a million (read: 27C/82F) outside. I know I should probably have someone come in and look at it, but I’ve already have 3 different companies come in on 3 different occasions to look at my heating/cooling system over the past 1.5 years, and none of them have done much besides take my money and temporarily “fix” the issue… so forgive me if I’m a little hesitant to do it again.
6. Until then, I’d like to introduce you to what’s been doing it’s best to keep me cool at home. Bloggy friends, meet Bug, my [biggest] fan. Along with my phone for size comparison’s sake…
π π π And I know the iPhone 6s are big, but Bug really is that tiny… hence the name. He’s not good for much unless you set him on the table and point him straight at your face, but I’ve had him for as long as I can remember so I’m not willing to let him go. Sometimes he starts to rattle and whizz like he’s about to die, though, so I give him a rest and bring out the big guns…
7. This is getting a tiny bit long, so I should probably end things here… But not before announcing the winner of the Love Grown giveaway!
Congratulations, Vivian! I’ll be getting in touch with you asap (unless you beat me to it) to get your contact info, and your package should be on its way soon! Thanks to everyone who entered, and keep your eyes out for more giveaways in the future!
8. Happy Thursday, friendly faces! Go make a positive difference in someone’s day π
No questionsβ¦ just tell me whatever comes to your mind! π

Frosted cheerios are the best! Definitely a childhood favorite of mine!
Jamie
That coloring book looks incredible! I feel like that would be such a great, relaxing way to unwind after work… I might have to investigate : ) Happy Thursday!!
Shashi at RunninSrilankan
When you talk about snowboarding in those minus temperatures, I cringe! But when you speak of “plus million” I feel as cool as a “bug”! Saw what I did there! π
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Well played, my dear Shashi. Well played indeed π
Hayley @ Full of Life
Love your selfies – you so prettay. I love black clothing too for day to day, but a lot of times when I go out or do something fun I wear a super bright dress or print. Dual fashion personality over here. Love that coloring book – I just got a mandala coloring book and am LOVING it. I hope yours comes soon!!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
Ooooh, I’ve never tried Frosted Cheerios! I’m intrigued!
I totally need a little “Bug” in my life for this summer. Pregnancy + super hot temps will be interesting! π
Stephanie
I am totally in your boat when it comes to neutral colors of clothes. If you look in my closet, most of it consists of brown, black, white, and gray! I really try to mix it up a bit, but I always lean towards those neutral colors! I try to add in a pop of color once in awhile, but it is SO hard!! LOL!

Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Right?! I just don’t feel like myself when I wear colour. It’s like I suddenly don’t know how to act anymore π
Annette@FitnessPerks
Your fan is so cute! I sleep with a fan at night and it helps so much!
Sarah C
Before summer starts, just bite the bullet and get a new system? That always seems to work? I hope! Love your cute little fan and writing down that book series now! Now to just find the time to read all of the books on my night stand!
Lesley
The sweetest Cheerios I can eat are the honey nut Cheerios. All of the sugary cereal I used t eat now make me queasy.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The only one I can handle is Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and even then, I have to mix it with either oats or a more wheaty cereal because the sweetness is a little much for me.
tiff @ love, sweat, & beers
What a pretty house you have! π I’ve been looking at houses lately. I want a new one. My savings account doesn’t want me to get a new one. It’s a battle.
Courtney @ Running For Cupcakes
I would totally buy those Cheerios just because they have Frozen on them. I’m not a huge fan of cereal though!
cait @pieceofcait
LOL .. that little fan is too cute!!!! what a good idea to have one right by the face.. i need that. PS looking gorgeous as ALWAYS <3
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thank ya, gorgeous! <3 Hope you're having an awesome Thursday!
Bri
Ahhh that colouring book!! My coworker has it and it’s amazing. My local book store carries a few but they aren’t as awesome as that one.
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves
That photo of Bug with the big fan made me laugh. Something about the tiny fan being in the middle of the room but overpowered by this big kahuna is just hysterical to me this morning π
Dang! I am so impressed with how popular this coloring book is! I might need to look into it if there’s such a high demand for it π
Also, any frosted cereal makes me want to gag… bleh.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Even Frosted Flakes? But they’re grrrrrrrrrreat! And that picture made me laugh a ridiculous amount as well — it’s good to be easily amused π
Jen @ Bagels to Broccoli
Ahh I freaking LOVE Frosted Cheerios!! They were honestly my favorite as a child (right after chocolate Frosted Flakes…)
Melissa @ Mango About Town
Cute bug! Our big tower fan died on us two days ago so we raced to Canadian Tire to replace it with a snazzy version with a remote!!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs For Food
I hate it when an awesome book ends and I don’t have anything new to read right away! I just started reading the wayward pines books and I like them so far.
Hope you get cool air soon! It’s in the 80s down here in VA already, so I feel like we just totally skipped spring.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m pretty sure spring doesn’t exist in Edmonton. We go from it being crazy cold and wet and snowy in May to OMG I’m going to die. I just want to live somewhere where it’s always fall.
Julie @ Running in a Skirt
Those coloring books are super popular in Brazil! I was visiting my friend who lives there and we did a page. It was sooooo relaxing and pretty fun π I hope yours comes soon!
Erin @ The Almond Eater
Haha! Miguel bought that same fan to set on his desk! Some air is better than no air. I’m also much more into neutral-colored clothing. I wear color, but I just feel more comfortable in black or white (typically white, now that I thick about it). ….or blue. If blue counts as a sort of neutral π
Brittany
Helllloooo gorgeous! Finally joining back in on the thinking out loud link up woo π I love reading yours. I really need to get myself an iPhone 6! My 5c just isn’t cutting it haha
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Before this one I have the 4, and let me tell you… THAT was painful. I couldn’t even load things like IG, Twitter, or FB without it crashing on me. So clearly I needed to get a new one for business purposes π
Heather @Fit n Cookies
Ugh I HATE when things go wrong and you have to call for maintenance. They never help and sometimes make things worse! I don’t blame you for holding off. But, I know I wouldn’t be able to with the ac π It’s been in the 80s for the past week and we haven’t had our air on, but thankfully our house keeps itself pretty cool.
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
I feel the way you feel about repair man about doctors. Tired of wasting my time and money seeing them and getting no help or a temporary fix. Not sure I could long without a/c though. It’s kind of hot in the desert!
Susie @ SuzLyfe
It is no bueno to not have air. But the worst times to not have air is when you are sleeping. When I was in Jamaica, one of the nights power went out to the whole block, and so the big industrial fans didn’t work (we didn’t have a/c anyway). Literally 30 minutes of hell until miraculously the power came back on. Until then, I thought I would die.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I can’t even imagine. I’ve been having the hardest time sleeping, because I’m either too hot, or too cold when I turn on the fan. I need a Goldilocks moment.
Becky @ Olives n Wine
My sister used to be OBSESSED with Frosted Cheerios when we were kids. Honey Bunches of Oats were more of my thang π Anddddd now that I see your Starbs photo, a little coffee run is being added to my to-do list today – Must include the important things, hehe. Have a great one!
Erin@BeetsPerMinute
It’s been, like 45 degrees in Glasgow all week. I want some heat lol! I also stay away from Cherrios — I overdosed on the protein cinnamon flavour last summer. It’s like a bowling ball in your stomach, but they are just too addicting once you start!
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Hahaha. the living room rug π
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Mmmm hmm. You know what hides beneath it π
Debbie
Thank you so much for the opportunity. I cannot wait to see what everyone is thinking. π
Lucie@FitSwissChick
Gorgeous Babe!! I wish we had warmer temps here. It’s not too bad, I can absolve my daily swims, but it’s FREAKING cold in the mornings! Send some over, k?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Or, you know, you could just come over HERE π
meredith @ Cookie ChRUNicles
I am hot just thinking about your AC not working. Just saying. Wait- did I remember to tell you last week that I finally got my new iPhone? I can’t remember lol
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Whaaaat?!?! You didn’t! Clearly we need to talk about this…
Brynn
Frosted Cheerios are so good but, like you, I went overboard years ago. Too much of a good thing – oomph!
Lisa @ Running Out Of Wine
That fan is so cute! Hopefully it actually cools you off though:) I have still been using a heater at work because its so cold there. Ive been going to Starbucks at least ones a week again, and my wallet does not like it.
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
I’m the same way with repair men especially if it’s done nothing in the past and they’re expensive. That’s why I still manage my oven even though it shits off every now and then when in use! We’ve been getting 90s and I’m so thankful for my window ACs. That fan is cute, but clearly not what you need!
jill conyers
Now that’s a tiny fan. As always, great selfie. Hope you have cool air soon!
Have an awesome Thursday Amanda.
Miss Polkadot
27 degrees?! And here I was thinking Canada didn’t get hit by the heat – or at least not earlier than we do. It’s been not cold but not exactly warm and appropriate for the summer-is-around-the-corner time around here. Safe to say we packed a wool blanket when out and about at a festival with relatives this past weekend.
AC isn’t usual over here so I can’t imagine what being without it all of a sudden would feel like. But the rattle and whistle of Bug reminds me of the AC in my bathroom that should have been fixed for years but nobody’s making an effort because there’s a way to make it work after all.
Oh and yes, you might have noticed I didn’t need your help today because the internet is mysteriously working for once …
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I tried linking you up anyways and was a little confused when it said “duplicate link detected.” And sorry I didn’t reply to your message, but ugh… Twitter doesn’t always send me notifications so I didn’t get it until this morning!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
hahaha I saw those cheerios at superstore today! I was seriously debating them…actually, I might make the trip back and pick them up π Also – I was looking at adult colouring books on the Chapters website the other day and they actually have a lot of them at the ones in Calgary. Soooo that’ll probably be happening sometime in the next few weeks.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Not EVEN fair! None of the ones I wanted were in stock at the stores in E-town, but I might pick up a different one to hold me over because… colouring <3 Actually, I might have to head over this afternoon...
Khushboo
That fan is so cute…definitely worth keeping around for that alone ;)! I love sugar but those Cheerios don’t sound good at all..sometimes you just need to roll with the classic kind! Speaking of classics, are cappuccinos still your go-to at Starbs? Lately I’ve been hooked on their soy lattes, hot or cold depending on the weather!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve actually just been drinking regular Pikes or Americanos. I tried having a capp on a few occasions, but wasn’t impressed at all π I’ll probably go back to drinking the iced lattes in the warmer months, though — those things are crazy good.
