I didn’t have much time to sit down and write up a proper post today because I was busy spending most of the day with my mum. She’s hopping on a plane tonight and heading off to Europe to spend the summer with our family over there, so I was helping her pack and picking up some last minute travel essentials at the store. I love visiting new places and all, but wow 😯 … the whole packing/travelling process is just so stressful. Home sweet home, right?
Anywho, I came across this survey on the wonderful Alexandra’s blog, and since I always appreciate a good survey to help me out in a pinch, today seemed like as good a day as any to fill it out. It’s kind of something different, so I hope you guys enjoy. Much love until tomorrow! Oh, and speaking of love…

You’re going to be stranded on a beautiful but lonely deserted island for 1 year. You’ll have all the food you need, shelter, medical supplies, electricity, and even a rustic but comfortable hut. The only catch is that you cannot have any contact with the outside world.
Dun dun dun…
What shoes do you take?… What. on. earth? What am I? Packing for a lovely deserted island getaway vacation? If that were the case, I’d probably pass and just stay home. But I’ll play along… I’d take my Sketchers because they’re so comfy and basically good for everything.
Do you take underwear?…Â I’m tempted to say no so that I can get my tan on without having to worry about tan lines. Buuuuut for the sake of acting in a socially acceptable manner, my answer will be yes. Although, like I said… with tanning? Anything goes when no one is around…
Lunch had to be quick so I threw together a snack plate made up of a hardboiled egg, guac, hummus, and mixed veggies, and used a toasted wrap to get it all from Point A (plate) to Point B (mouth).
Reading Material?…Â I’ve given it some thought, and although I really love reading, I’d prefer to have endless supply of notebooks and writing utensils because I’d get bored reading the same thing over and over again, but I never grow tired of writing.
Music?…Â Would I like some? Yes, yes I would. What kind? A whole iPod loaded with everything from Bon Jovi (closet Jovi fan here!) to Mudvayne. Oh, and if you’re looking for some new tunes, I highly recommend you check our Celldweller. Love him.
Toothbrush or razor?… Ack! Being without either of these would be sheer torture – I don’t like dealing with either fuzzy teeth nor fuzzy legs, thank you very much. But in the end, I think the toothbrush wins out because, while getting hairy feels gross, having a dirty mouth just is gross.
Hair brush or mirror?… My hair doesn’t really get tangled, so I don’t brush it that much to begin with… I’d go with the mirror because I’d be curious as to how I looked after a few months of roughing it up. And, if anything, having a face to look at while I was talking to myself would be kind of comforting… even if it was my own and it meant that I was going crazy from isolation/exposure.
Pick two forms of recreational entertainment…Â Recreational entertainment? Isn’t that just two different words for the same thing? Anyways, for recreational purposes, I’d want a bike because I’d probably get tired of walking everywhere; and for entertainment purposes… oh geez… is it sad I can’t think of anything besides the computer? But since there’s no contact with the outside world… hmm. Oh! A Wii so that I can get my Dance, Fit, Mario, and Guitar Hero on.
How do you spend your first day alone?…Â Uhm… weeping like a baby? And wondering why on earth I signed up for a deserted island vacation in the first place? I’d go exploring to see what I was dealing with, and then come home to my “rustic but comfortable” hut to drown my sorrows in chocolate…
What foods would you need every day?… See above (^^). And thennn… oatmeal, bananas, apples, almond butter, Greek yogurt, hummus, and eggs… I’m pretty sure those would get me through. Although I’d have to get creative with how I combined them so that I didn’t get sick of eating the same thing all the time. But we all know that I can do that…
Drinkables? (choose two — water is supplied)… Coffee and my favorite cinnamon spice tea. Can we say caffeine addict? M’yes we can. And I enjoy every moment with my black brew, thank you.
What would you do if you found out there were other people on the island?…Â Well, put my underwear on first if I happen to be tanning, and then hope that no one caught sight of me in my birthday suit. I guess I would be a good neighbor and go on over to say hello. Although, if they tried to eat me, I think I’d redirect my efforts into putting up a fence. And setting booby traps.
Choose one movie to bring… As with books, I can’t pick just one movie to watch over a year because I’d go crazy when I could recite it word for word. Instead, give me a video camera so that I can make my own movie. And no, not that kind – get your minds out of the gutter, people!
Mmm hmm. Kaiah knows what you’re thinking. And she’s rolling her eyes at you.
Would you rather have access to a toilet or toilet paper?… Toilet paper, no questions. The bushes provide a perfectly fine ladies room, and years of camping have perfected my squatting technique – there is no way I’m using leaves to wipe my bee-hind.
Bow and arrow or fishing line?.. Well, considering that I don’t eat meat or fish, neither of these is too appealing, really. Although I suppose I would take the bow and arrows so that I could take up archery if I ever got bored… and I hear it’s great for toning those arm muscles, too 😉

I love travelling and seeing the world/other cultures. After college, that’s what I plan on doing before I get into a serious career. My favorite place I’ve been outside the U.S. (and only) is the Bahamas on a disney cruise. My dad thought it would be a good idea for him, me, and my twin sister to “bond.” However, my sister and I were the only kids on board that were over 6 years old. We were 16. So even though it was nice waking up to mickey mouse pretending to steal my waffles every morning, it would have been nice to meet some people my age.
Haha! I can imagine. I can also imagine clockin’ Mickey on the nose if he tried to mess with my breakfast. I’m not generally a violent person, but neither am I quite myself before breakfast and a cup of joe…

I would DEFINITELY say toothbrush…besides after hair grows long enough, you could recreationally entertain myself with braiding it! Lol!
I love everything about traveling. I haven’t done much but last summer I went to St. Augustine, FL and had the best.vacay.ever!
That definitely wouldn’t be my first choice of recreational entertainment, but by the time my hair got long enough to braid, I’d probably be a lot less picky 😉

haha this is such a fun survey!! and so interesting to read. i love traveling, but i am kinda totally traveled out right now (from the past year), at least internationally. and because i am constantly going back and forth between east and west coasts – and feel like i currently have no “roots,” it is kind of nice when i can just spend a longer period of time in a familiar place! but i know i will always love traveling =) i really love london (i’m a city girl) but i also love the great outdoors… yosemite, yellowstone… i even hiked the appalachian trail!

I LOVE travelling! my favorite place I have visited in the country would have to be arizona, out of country- China.
