Why hello there February. I don’t much like you, but promise not to drag your feet and I’ll keep things civil.
Does anyone else feel like February is one of those months that we just have to get through? We’re tired of winter. We want warmth, and sun, and the ability to go outside again. Gah! I’m sorry – what a horrible attitude to start a new month with. February really isn’t all that bad, there’s just something that I’m really looking forward to happening at the beginning of March, so I’m kind of counting down the days. I’ll share more with you guys in a future post, though, because today I wanted to talk about my January favorites and my February goal. First, the goal.
Lately I’ve been feeling like I’ve become some mysterious voice behind a computer screen. I don’t post many personal pictures and I don’t share many details about my life; not because I have anything to hide, but because I’m shy and have a hard time talking about myself… which is kind of strange considering I have a personal blog. This is something I really want to work on changing. My favorite blogs tend to be the ones where I feel like I really get to know the blogger better through pictures and details. Pictures of food and informative posts are great and all, but at the end of the day, it’s all about the people, right?
That being said, I’m going to do my best to try and push myself out of my comfort zone and get more personal, so I need you guys to hold me to that, okay? Okay. I’ve also been toying around with the idea of occasionally posting more than once a day, since sometimes there are things that I want to share with you guys that kind of get lost along the way; that and my list of blog post ideas is getting epically long, and I can never seem to make a dent in it. So let me know what you guys think about that! And with that out of the way, let’s get to the favorites…
. – . – . – .
. Food Favorites .
Given all the cereal love around these parts lately, it probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise to find cereal topping my list of favorite foods. January was special, though, because I rekindled a love affair with an old favorite…
I used to eat Weetabix all the time back in the day, but my love for these wonderfully wheaty biscuits got pushed to the side when I discovered things like Kashi Cinnamon Harvest and Puffins. As luck would have it, I was at my parents’ place one cold Sunday evening, when I got hit with a sudden craving for cereal. Problem was that Mom and Dad don’t exactly share my love for this fine breakfast food, so their supply was pretty dismal. After some serious digging, I struck gold when I came across a box of Weetabix (which I ended up stealing) and we’ve basically been inseparable ever since. I don’t know what it is, but I love the flakey-ness of this cereal. It’s great with milk, but I’ve pretty much just been craving it dry, crumbled over some yogurt…
Another rekindled love? Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies…
These have been my all-time favorite cookie since as far back as I can remember. My mom used to bake them for me all the time when I was little, but just like with Weetabix, they got lost in the sidelines as I started experimenting with different things. January saw them come back with a vengeance, though – I actually just baked my fifth batch of the month last night and enjoyed a couple alongside a cup of Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride…
… which just so happens to be another monthly favorite. And finally…
… Maisie Jane’s roasted almond butter. This has been my go-to AB for years now, but lately I’ve been getting some questions as to what I love about it. First, the taste: the roasted almond give it a wonderfully rich and nutty taste. Second, the consistency: it’s always drippy and never gets stiff. Third, the ingredients: no added salt or sugar, and no traces of peanuts! Woop!
. – . – . – .
. Beauty Favorites .
Another month, another Lush favorite; this time in the form of Honey Trap lip balm…
I’m not going to gripe about the weather, but it’s been bad. Cold. Windy. Dry. Basically the perfect conditions if you’re looking to ravage your skin/hair/nails. I’m not really into the dry and flakey look, so I’ve been taking extra precautions. Made with oat milk, almond oil, white chocolate, olive oil, and shea butter, this balm has been working wonders – no chapped lips for this girl.
No dull and lusterless skin either, thanks to MAC’s Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle…
Dry winter air means dull winter skin – not a good look for me. To help brighten up my skin, I’ve been sweeping this highlighting powder across my cheekbones, nose, and forehead. It gives me a nice summer glow without making me look shiny or greasy.
And for a little extra radiance, a spritz of MAC’s Fix+…
Not only does this blend of green tea, chamomile, and cucumber help set face makeup to make it last longer, but it adds that nice dewey glow that’s so hard to get in winter. I’ll often spritz my face a few times throughout the day if I feel like my skin is starting to look a little tired – it’s wonderfully refreshing.
This next beauty favorite takes a bit of explaining, so hear me out…
Baby shampoo. No, I haven’t been cheating on my Lush solid shampoos – this stuff hasn’t touched my hair since I was a teeny-tiny human being. Instead, I’ve been using it to clean my makeup brushes. If you use brushes to apply your makeup, it’s important to clean them regularly to prevent the build-up of bacteria, which can lead to some nasty breakouts. I used to use a designated makeup brush cleaner from MAC, but that stuff gets expensive. After hearing that baby shampoo could be used instead, I gave it a shot and never looked back. All you have to do is wet your brush, squirt a little bit of baby shampoo in your hand, and swirl your brush around in it. When you work up a nice lather, wash our the shampoo and voila! Clean, soft brushes at a fraction of the cost.
Aaaaand I couldn’t end my beauty favorites without mentioning my new favorite nail polishes…
You guys have heard me rave about the Revlon Colorstay polishes enough already so I’m not going to say too much about them. They’re fast and they last. In short, they’re wonderful.

. Book Favorites .
My book pick for this month is The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss.
Oh.my.goodness. Where do I even start with this one. I’ll give you the description while I think…
The riveting first-person narrative of a young man who grows to be the most notorious magician his world has ever seen. From his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, to years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime-ridden city, to his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic,The Name of the Wind is a masterpiece that transports readers into the body and mind of a wizard. It is a high-action novel written with a poet’s hand, a powerful coming-of-age story of a magically gifted young man, told through his eyes: to read this book is to be the hero.
If you like fantasy books, I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll love this one. It’s been compared to works like The Lord of the Rings and The Song of Fire and Ice, but dare I say that I think I might like it even more than either of those. First of all, Rothfuss’ writing is just beautiful – there were countless instances where the beauty of the prose took my breath away. His choice of words and the manner in which he delivers them is almost poetic in nature. Rothfuss creates a vivid world that you can easily picture in your mind, giving just the right amount of detail without losing you in it.
The Name of the Wind is a bildungsroman, a coming of age story. It focuses on the growth and development of the main character, which the author goes about doing in a brilliant way. The story of the book takes place over the span of a few days, but covers years of the character’s life. When we’re first introduced to the present-day Kvothe, he’s already grown up and living as a simple innkeeper in a quiet town, hiding who he truly is. Certain events unfold that bring his true identity closer to the surface, and the reader begins to realize that there’s more to him than meets the eye. Pushed to share his story by a Chronicler, Kvothe sits down in his inn and begins to tell it. At that point, the book delves into the past, with several interludes that bring it back to the present. The stark contrast between who Kvothe is and the man he was in his youth makes the reader wonder what it was that happened to get him to where he is now.
Kvothe is a powerful hero, but at the same time he’s incredibly fallible and human. He makes mistakes, he gets badly beaten, he suffers, he barely manages to get by – his story is real. It’s the good and the bad. The joy and suffering. The great acts and the stupid mistakes. Stop listening to me rave about it and go pick up your own copy! You won’t be sorry.

How do you guys feel about more than one post a day?
I could use some encouragement! I could definitely get a little more personal, eh?
Alouise @The Life of Alouise
Ooohhh I love weetabix! In Australia we get weet-bix. Sound the same but is so much worse! I hate it when it goes soggy though. Bleugh.
I love personal blogs, so a bit more insight would be great! I think I’m probably a bit too personal on my blog, I should work on that! And more than one post a day? Count me in!
Lisa
Hmm. Wheatabix. Where do you buy these? I don’t know if I have ever seen them in the stores? Does TJ’s carry them?
And yes, please share more about YOU! I read just a small handful of blogs (yours being one of them) and I’d love to find out more about you. 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m honestly not sure if TJ’s carries Weetabix because we don’t have TJ’s up here in Canada 😛 But I find them in basically all of the chain grocery stores so I imagine it would be the same down there?
Rachel
I know what I’m doing this weekend.. getting that book! haha! You know me and LOTR’s are basically loves lol and I think Sugar Cookie Tea is up there on my list of favorites.. definitely the best tea out there 😀 I’ve been wanting to try it in oatmeal but have yet to make some lol
molly @ heart, sole & cereal
i think i’m going to be ordering some of that almond butter. i am so jealous of it every time you post a picture. might need to happen. also i love the idea of using baby shampoo for cleaning makeup brushes – i also need to be better about cleaning them with really anything at all, but baby shampoo would be a great start. and i covet your fingernails. i wish i could stop biting mine :/
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
If you feel particularly lazy about cleaning brushes, you can use an antibacterial spray to spot clean them, which means you don’t have to shampoo them that often. And I used to bite my nails all the time… I have no idea how I stopped – maybe it was because I started chewing gum? Or being afraid of germs… one or the other.
Natasha
I think that multiple posts a day would be awesome – you take amazing pictures and always have very interesting posts!
And I’m all for about letting people glimpse into my life – I find personal posts to be the most interesting to read!
Sharsti@theblondehairblueeyedrunner
New reader, and I absolutely love the nail colors and that mac warmth glow! Ahh, I totally need that for my pasty white skin haha I currently use bare minerals, which I love, but Mac looks goood!
Aimee
More than one post a day 🙂 would be FABULOUS! Your blog is definitely a favorite of mine!!
I would love more of your makeup tips – I’ve already tried many of the products you have recommended and I have never been disappointed!!
Can’t wait to hear what you have in store for March!!
Miss Polkadot
Yes please to you posting more than once a day! There can’t be too many of your fantastic posts to read for me! Another yes to getting to know more about you – as long as you feel comfortable sharing! Don’t push yourself too much if it doesn’t feel right, honey! … and are you honestly expecting anybody to disagree with more posts ;)?
Thanks for the beauty reviews! I’ll definitely have to look for the Honeytrap lip balm next week – it sounds lovely and chapped lips are no fun. I’m usually a lipstick kind of girl – my current favourite is an organic vanilla-tangerine flavoured one – because they’re handier when on the go but I’m still curious about it.
Weetabix! Finally a cereal favourite I can find around here and have been enjoying ever since traveling to England way back. Maybe not the fanciest of cereal but I truly like its “wheaty” only ever so sweet taste.
Don’t laugh at me but I’ve been using baby shampoo and am still using baby oil instead of lotion long after I had stopped wearing diapers :D. They’re perfect for sensitive skin and – let’s face it – have a lovely scent, too.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Hehe well I know that some people are super busy and don’t like to read more than one post a day. To be honest, I still have no idea where I’d find the time to actually post twice a day, but maaaaybe I could figure something out. And I think that using baby oil is a great idea! My skin is super sensitive too, so I really have to watch what I put on it otherwise it doesn’t hesitate in letting me know that it’s not pleased.
Joi @ Rx Fitness Lady
That’s what I can’t figure out is where you will find the time. I read but don’t comment much. It seems to me that whenever I’m browsing that you actually comment back on soooo many of these bloggers! Every time I see your face, I’m like she is a little blogging ninja. I think it would be stressful, but you are so engaging. You leave great comments on other people’s blogs, to your followers and your post are on point. If you start 2 a day then, more will do 2 a day, then what the heck are you gonna do lady! I’ll keep reading either way:)
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Haha! Blogging ninja… I like that 😉 And yes, it does get to be a little bit overwhelming at times, which is why I’m still trying to figure out how I’ll manage it – I just really like connecting with people!
Caitlin
Yes yes yes to all of thr above!! I love it when bloggers get personal esp with pictures and details of their lives…esp when i really enjoy reading their blogs on a daily basis anyway 😉 I would love to see what you post about, esp if you go twice a day! And i just added this book to my amazon wish list…sounds perfect for me 🙂
Lisa
I loooove that Mac Fix! It definitely helps when setting makeup! Especially if I’m out all day, which obviously happens quite a bit. I like anything you post, so I don’t mind whichever direction you choose to take! I’d love to see more into your life though, since I feel like we are twins most of the time;)
I’ve been thinking about the two a day posts, but may wait a bit. I’ll see. You’ll have to let me know how it is, if you decide to go in that direction! Why have I not seen the almond butter over here!!! This makes me sad, because it sounds insanely delicious! I’m hoping next year I can score some sugar cookie tea, since everyone is saying it’s amazing stuff!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m still not entirely sure how to go about doing the two post a day thing either… It definitely wouldn’t be an everyday sort of thing, since some days I just don’t have the time… but once in a while it seems like it would be alright. And I buy this AB in Planet Organic – I know they have a store in Victoria so maybe you can find it there!
Kendra
I think you should write more personal posts ONLY if you really want to–after all, it is your blog:) Certainly, I would love to learn more about you, but I tend to be a very shy and introverted person as well–so I understand your reluctance to talk about yourself! More than one post a day would be perfectly fine–but again, only if you truly want to:) That book sounds fascinating; I will have to check my library for it…
Alex @ therunwithin
I always love learning more about you but I have to say I feel like I know you a bit more. my dad and I were obsessed with wheetabix i loved that stuff when I could eat wheat
Cassie @RedLetterDaye
I say, it’s your blog, do you! I think it’s always nice to get to know someone via their blog. While information is great, when you connect with someone, their story, their passions, it keeps you coming back. I thought I’d focus my blog on typical healthy living tips, food photos, etc., because I do enjoy seeing those on other’s blogs, but when it came down to it, it’s ending up to be more personal. It’s sometimes hard to gauge if I’m sharing to much, but I appreciate when other bloggers are honest. Hey, that’s me, I am what I am, and it is what it is. 😉
I’m sure I’m not the only one be happy to learn more about you!
I’m also interested to see what you have in store for March, because I doubt it’s my birthday your excited for. 😉 I always thought people hated March because there were school breaks in February and April, so March dragged on for everyone else. I guess that all goes out the window when you grow up lol.
Happy Friday!
sarah
Getting more personal & stepping out you comfort zone eh?….I’ll look forward to the vlog then 🙂 (hehe).
I’d actually be really interested to see what you came up with in posting more than once a day. Gotta say though, I think you have this slightly mysterious presence/mystique going on here , like The Dark Horse of the blogworld or something! Haha, I don’t know, ignore me.
Honey Trap FTW! Love that stuff.
Xxx
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I still haven’t forgotten about the vlog! I just honestly have no idea what to vlog about… maybe a favorites video would be a good idea, since they can get kind of long. And I seriously laughed out loud at The Dark Horse comment… it definitely feels that way, but it kind of annoys me!
Sara @ fitcupcaker
I think posting more than once a day is sooo hard, especially if it is detailed…but I work full time also so it just depends on your lifestyle. I love reading your blog though, Ill still read even if you only post once a day!
Rachel @ Undercover Diva: A Sitcom
I think more than one post would be a great idea!! I try to keep my posts to one a day because not too many people read my blog yet, so I don’t want to bombard my few readers with everything that’s going on in my life. How kind of me, yeah?
Brittany
PLEAASSEEE please pleasEEEE post more personal posts and pictures of you and your life and your friends and MAYBEEE one day your Starbucks manfriend (I hope that’s going well for you still!!!) I love learning more about bloggers. I LOVE your posts now, but I know they would only make me love you MORE if you made them just a tad more personal. I am all for it!! PLUS you are super cool, so there is no need to be shy!!! You blog is one of the only blogs that I go back and RE READ posts I have missed while I have been away from the blog world, so if you wrote multiple posts I would have THAT much more excitement to read! YAY..ok I am calming down now.
I think I am the only blogger that hasn’t tried that sleigh ride tea!! AHH I am sure it’s too late now. If I don’t find some in the store, I must try some next year. Please remind me!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
😆 Seriously love you. This is definitely the kind of encouragement my shy butt needs 😉 But you do realize that asking me to remember something for a whole year is asking a whole heck of a lot, right? Nevertheless, I’ll make a Post-It…
Liz (formerly VeggieGirl)
As long as it’s from you, I like more than one post a day 😀
TJ
You always have such intense and wonderful makeup/hair products. I used to attempt to doll myself up, but ever since I “had to” for business (I’m in accounting so intervies, internships were all business casual/professional) and I know I’ll “have to” when I start working in the fall, I avoid it like the plague. It’s funny, when I was younger I ADORED makeup and feeling pretty…now I just want to be in my pajamas and go to school au naturale (I probably shouldn’t though…dark circles, bad skin…oh well).
I’d really like for you to get more personal (I’d love for you to update your story). But I feel weird asking/wanting that since I’m not a blogger so it’s not like you get to know me. As a daily reader, I feel like I know you and if I saw you I’d be like, “OMG! Amanda hey! Did you have a yogurt mess today?” and you would run in the other direction/call the police (I’m sure the fact that I wouldn’t be wearing makeup would not help my cause/presentability). It’s odd how as non-blogger readers we want you to “deepen” our relationship with you yet never really return the favor (in terms of getting to know us/us getting personal). It’s like a one-sided relationship where YOU constantly give and give but don’t get anything in return…you should really charge us in almond butter or something.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Getting paid in almond butter. Ha! Now there’s a good idea… I like your thinking 😉 And getting recognized in public would seriously be one of the most surreal experiences ever… I think I’d be too shocked to do much of anything at all.
Khushboo
Your blog is a favorite of mine so I would only welcome multiple posts per day with welcome arms :)! Same goes for personal posts! Although I don’t share as much as some other bloggers, it’s a lot more than when I started off and I quite like- I feel much more authentic when I’m writing and also connect better with my readers! I shall def hold you accountable ;)!
Going back to the cereal talk- I love Weetabix…especially with a banana sliced in! Do they sell Oatibix in Canada? If not, I might have to mail you some next time I’m back in London…as a fellow oat-lover I know you’d love it!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Oatibix! I think I came across those once, but that was back when I didn’t rememeber how much I loved Weetabix so I didn’t pick them up 🙁 I’m going to have to go looking for them again! Is there a huge difference in taste?
Khushboo
Not that I’m partial to oats or anything (;)) but Oatibix really does taste so much yummier!
Lauren
I always get shy when writing blog posts or I have SO much on my mind the main situation I wanted to talk about gets lost. My mind gets so jumbled I feel like I run out of room/reader’s attention to fully express what I want to say. Also, I have a problem with picturing everything which becomes an issue when you’re trying to SHOW readers your life.
I am all for more posts from you since you’re on my blog reader and one of the first ones I check on a daily basis. What can I say? I guess I just like the fact you love breakfast foods, you’re a closet nerd, you like hot pink nail polish – I love that color! -, and you enjoy reading blogs while drinking a cup of coffee. I can relate to you and I like it. I’m happy to read more about you, lady!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Awwr. Gush. Thanks, hun… I’m rather fond of you myself <3 <3
Lisa @ Lisa the Vegetarian
Oh I totally agree with you on just having to get through February. January is long and torturous enough for me!
Shira
I love Honey Trap from Lush. Started using it last winter, and it did such wonders.. that store is a dry skinned Canadian girls dream 🙂 I love to use it with their Sweet Lips lip scrub… like rubbing candy flavoured sugar on your lips and it keeps them soo soft. Which solid shampoos and/or conditioners do you use from there? Also, as a non-blogger blog reader (?) I totally love hearing more about the people behind the blog, through their writing! And would definitely enjoy reading more about ya. And more of your posts would be great, you have really interesting topics and viewpoints, and love your writing style too.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks for the encouragement, Shira 🙂 As for the Lush products, I use Godiva, Seanik, and New! solid shampoos interchangeably, depending on how my hair is feeling. And for conditioners, American Cream is my go-to, with Retread being what I reach for if I feel like my hair is in need of a little extra moisture.

“The Name of the Wind is a >bildungsroman<!, a coming of age story"
It is so much fun seeing German words in English sentences. "Wanderlust" was the most hilarious, until today – I never knew that "bildungsroman" is also used in English. And your little review made me want to read this book bad! I have to admit, that I am a happy kindle user – I've been converted 2 years back and I do enjoy the benefits: bringing as many books as you like wherever you go, while just carrying a small purse. But I miss to hold a nice good old book sometimes. So I might actually purchase this one the old-fashioned way – in a bookstore, when tomorrows exam is over, as a reward for myself.
And btw – I cannot wait for your new more personal kind of posts. Though, I totally can relate to your issues of being to shy/cautious of getting personal on my blog, that's really what I enjoy most about other peoples blogs. Contradictious, isn't it?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I would definitely recommend picking up this book! And you’ve been working so hard with your studies that you deserve a reward for sure 🙂
Jemma @ Celery and Cupcakes
I love your blog the way it is but it would be lovely to find out more about you.
Laura @ RunningJunkie123
I am the same way with my blog. I never post personal pictures and don’t really go outside my comfort zone. Maybe one day.
That being said, I definitely love blogs more when I get to know the writer. I love seeing pictures of people and various things (although your pictures are all great).
I just bought the Katy Kettle Korn popcorn chips. I only had one but I can tell I’m going to love them. I am also currently loving BareNaked Cereal. Crunchy and delicious.
Danielle @ Clean Food Creative Fitness
I am the worst at getting personal in my posts too so I can totally relate. I’m super shy and hate taking pictures of myself! I love your blog just as is but will definitely try to encourage to be more personal. You do the same for me please 🙂
Alex @ Raw Recovery
Oh and I completely agree with you about February! It’s my hardest month of the year because it’s that awkward time between kind of winter but not yet spring. We can make it a good month though!
Alex @ Raw Recovery
Weetabix is my favorite cereal ever!! But no one I know knows what it is. I first learned about it when I had an australian exchange student and I ate them all the time in Oz and eventually found them here in the US. I’m glad you posted about makeup because I am about to publish one about makeup too! I love products and I always enjoy seeing what other people recommend. I’m really interested in that MAC finishing spray. Here in Colorado it’s so dry and I could use that!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Makeup is one of my guilty pleasures, and it’s kind of embarrassing to admit how much I can spend on it. I wish that more HLB’s would share their beauty favorites, because you’re right… it’s always nice to see recommendations 🙂
Haley @ The Saucy Apple
I love personal posts! Hope that doesn’t make me creepy. 😛 I’ve just always been the kind of person to prefer fewer more intimate friendships to a plethora of surface-level friendships. I thrive off of getting to know people. As for more than one post a day, that is mind-boggling how people manage that. I have a hard enough time getting a post in every other day!
Ashley @ Life and Fitness
Love the Mac highlighter too, use it everyday.
Katie @ KatieEnPursuit
Girl, it’s tough to put our “real selves” out there! Kudo’s for gearing up to give it a whirl! I admire you. I’ve been chugging Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea with these freezing temps. I’m considering starting to add vodka to it as an evening cocktail 😉 Happy Friday!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Haha! Well, that would definitely give you a better ‘warming up’ effect 😉 Happy Friday, girlie!
Hollie
I’ve slipped a lot from taking tons of selfies (yes I had a period of doing that) to not adding a lot. Which I feel is somewhat weird…I don’t have much to say about my personal life and having social anxiety, I had a hard time talking about myself. Also thanks for that MAC recommendation-I’m curious about it and think I might try it. MAC is my favorite brand.
Jess
Yeah…there’s no way of replying to this without sounding like a stalker, so here goes 😛
Even though I’ve read your blog(s) for…I think three or more years, I still find you quite enigmatic and mysterious. So if you feel comfortable with more personal posts, I think they’d be great. I quite like posting once a day because otherwise I find it hard to keep up but that’s because I follow so many blogs!
I used to love Weetabix – my breakfast as a kid for two solid years was two Weetabix with soy milk (always hated milk milk) and raisins (LOTS). Shame they shred my stomach to pieces now 🙁
More book reviews please! We seem to have the same taste in literature (horror and fantasy all the way – George R R Martin = genius) This is really embarrassing but that book actually sounds an awful lot like one of the fantasy novels I wrote several years ago (only a Hell of a lot better obviously – it’s just that the structure of the plot is so similar to mine it’s Uncanny). Obviously the skeleton plot isn’t what ‘makes’ a novel though – the execution is crucial as well and I just didn’t have the talent for that.
xxx
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Ugh. I still feel like a mysterious enigma after 3-ish years of blogging, and it’s kind of starting to get to me – it’s just hard when sometimes I don’t even realize that I’m doing it. I tend to be a pretty private person over all, so breaking out of that shell is going to take some more conscious effort.
Devon @ Health in Equilibrium
Wait, you like almond butter?? Get right out of town! 🙂 I’ve never actually tried weetabix, but I love cereal, so I think I would like it. I just added that sleigh ride tea to my shopping list. I have seen it on every blog for months, but have never actually bought it! That is about to change…
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m not sure if they sell it in Canada 🙁 I haven’t been able to find any in any of the stores around here. And I’m pretty sure it’s only available during the holidays… but you can always look online!
lisa fine @ vermont vittles
I feel that way about March. By then, I feel like it should be warmer, but it usually still feels a lot like winter. At least February is short. Oh well. That’s what we get for living in these northern parts.
Definitely go for more personal writing and posts, if you want to. I like sharing my life through blogging, and I think readers like to feel that they’re part of a story.
lucie
My blog is very personal and as you see I am still alive 🙂 Seriously, I would love to read more about you and you can still decide to step back if you feel uncomfortable with it right? But I am sure you will only get positive feedback anyway. More than one post, well I don’t know how blogger do this, cause I just don’t have the time. I also think that if you have a brilliant post, it’s great to have it on the front page for 1-2 days so it can actually get more attention and kind of ‘sit in’. But that’s just me, and since I love reading your posts, go ahead and write as many as you can! 🙂
I am in LOVE with Mac. And thank you for that tip with the Baby Shampoo, totally going to try that!!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do it every day, but there are some days where I feel like pumping out a post in the afternoon too… especially because I feel like doing that would let me connect with people more. We’ll see how it goes.
Sara @my less serious life
can’t wait to read more about you. my blog tends to be pretty impersonal – but every now and then there is something more in depth that i just have to share. and of course i, personally, would LOVE if you ever posted more than once a day. you are one of my very favorite bloggers, after all. do what you need girl – we all support you. PS weetabix i need to try – i wonder if i can get them around here???
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I hope that you can find ’em! They’re pretty incredible in a “I’m craving dry toast” kind of way 😆

I fully support you getting more personal! I love reading more personal details about bloggers and their lives. Maybe I’m a little nosey, but I’m fine with that. And I would love to know more about you…because I know that when I get the opportunity to meet you in person, I’m probably going to give you a running-tackle sort of hug. Which is always better with people you feel like you know extremely well 😀

I think we’re all a little nosy… which is probably why we read blogs 😉 Are you going to be going to Blend or HLS?
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
Assuming it’s not outrageously expensive, I should be at HLS this year! What about you?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m thinking HLS too 😀

Yay! 😀

So many loves! I’m definitely feeling the cereal love, and the cookie love, obviously!
I have slipped on posting pictures of myself too and I agree that it definitely makes you seem more relatable if there’s a face behind the words. But I still feel like the way you write connects you with your readers! Happy Friday, girl 🙂
