I don’t wash my makeup brushes nearly as much as I should.
I really don’t. I realized this yesterday when I went to wash them and couldn’t remember the last time I did it. It was definitely more than a week, though. Probably more than two. Possibly more than three. Oops? I know, I know – all those germs. I promise I’ll get better at it and try to do it weekly. You’ll see – next week I’ll tell you that I did it again.
One thing I am good at keeping up weekly, though? These Link Love posts. I like doing them and you like seeing them, so I hope you find some good stuff to read this week. Happy Sunday!

I never used makeup brushes for anything. I don’t know how to do makeup after all these years!

thought of you when I saw this posted on msn website! 😉 http://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/beauty/11-gross-things-that-can-happen-when-you-don%e2%80%99t-wash-your-makeup-tools/ss-BBwbNhc?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U305DHP#image=1

Yep, I’m totally the same with my makeup brushes. I wish there was some kind of machine that would just do it for me. Have you seen the Fifth Element? You know that eye makeup auto-applicator thing in the movie? They should have that for cleaning brushes! And they should totally have the eye makeup auto-applicator thing, but then we wouldn’t need the brush cleaner thingy… Oh, never mind! Overexercising: Yep, been there before. Totally diminishing returns once you overdo it. Anywho, thank you so much for including my brownies! 🙂 Don’t tell anyone, but I was planning on releasing them with normal, non-Halloween (i.e. boring) drizzle in a month. Our secret, right? 😉 P.S. Cauliflower: Lolololololol.

Can I ask how you wash your makeup brushes? I’m not going to say how long it’s been since I have washed mine… :-S but would love some tips on how to do it properly! Thanks lovely! X
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Sure thing! Right now I use baby shampoo to do the job, and what I’ll do is wet my brush, squeeze a small amount of shampoo into the palm of my hand, swirl the brush around in it, then run it over my palm to really get it in there. After that I’ll rinse it all off, and if the water is still coming out dirty, I’ll repeat it again (usually for face brushes). Then I just lay them flat to dry. I like baby shampoo because it’s gentle and inexpensive, but face cleanser works as well.

Love your link round-ups as always! Thank you for sharing and hope you have a wonderful Sunday : )
Yesterday I went apple picking with my sister, and we spent the afternoon cooking/baking apple things. In the evening we had family dinner with our parents.
Today has so far involved yoga with my mom & sister, a tasty lunch of soup we made yesterday, and some food prep before meeting someone for dinner later.

See I’m still totally slacking! I said I’d get it up this weekend but only managed to make a tiny bit of gain. Ugh. This week for sure.
