Happy Sunday, friends! π
How’s your weekend going so far? I’ve done almost nothing over the past couple days, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I had a bit of a meltdown towards the end of last week as a result of feeling completely overwhelmed and not getting nearly enough sleep, so I’ve been recovering from that… mostly by attacking my stack of books.
I’m planning on another quiet day with plenty of time spent in the kitchen testing out some new recipes before heading over to my parents’ for dinner. Food and family — the cures to almost anything, am.i.right?
I hope you guys are having an awesome Sunday, and I’ll see you tomorrow with my April favourites! π

Thanks for a list of helpful links there that I admire to read and to share with my friends, but you forget about finance part. Yeah, some of the article that you posted are talking about dollars and how you need to rule them, but something like this https://fitmymoney.com/emergency-money/ needed to be included to this list. People nowadays are looking for money on a regular purpose and if they would know where they can do it is will be better for all!

Well, I hate to hear you had a rough time last week, but it’s a little reassuring to know that I wasn’t the only one having a meltdown. Hope this weekend was good to you, love! Sometimes all we need is some quiet moments to ourselves to reflect and recharge! <3
Jessica
LOVED so many of these links! Thank you!
Amy@Long Drive Journey
I read this post yesterday while I was sitting in the car waiting to walk into church, but I HATE typing on my phone so I didn’t get to comment! Thank you for sharing my link! I spent this whole weekend watching a lot of House of Cards. I LOVE that show now. On a more serious note, I hope everything is okay! Sometimes meltdowns are necessary to get everything out and then regroup. I hope that will be the case for you and that regrouping will happen! I am trying to sell every piece of furniture in my apartment, so I feel like I am daily avoiding the mother of all meltdowns as well. Just remember, I’m only a text and a pile of ‘chocolate’ away. xo
Davida @ The Healthy Maven
I hope you’re feeling better lovey!!! I’m sorry I haven’t been around to be a better support to you! If anyone understands that feeling of being overwhelmed it’s me!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats
Not good about your meltdown but glad you had a good stack of books to help you through it! My stack of books is now in my Kindle, makes for a much smaller stack indeed!
Yesterday I cleaned, had a fast day and watched an episode of Awkward. Today I worked, failed at making veggie burgers and caught up on some blog reading.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve thought about getting a Kindle on so many occasions just for the convenience factor, but I have to admit that I kind of love my stacks of books… even though pretty soon I’m going to need an entire room devoted to them π
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
Ah buddy, I’m sorry to hear about the meltdown. The good news is it sounds like you handled it exactly right. Instead of inundating yourself with your overwhelming to do list, you stepped back and took some time for yourself, which will make the to do list all that much easier when the time comes to actually tackle it. Keep in mind, there’s probably no deadlines on that person to do list, either, except the ones you set yourself and usually you can change those. Once you realize that, the pressure tends to abate.
I loved the detox link. I used to do a quarterly detox for “toxins” all the time, back in the day (four years or so ago). It was all natural and involved a bunch of pills, water and an avoidance of processed foods, caffeine, dairy, etc.. I put the Hubby on the same detox plan until his doctor pretty much yelled at me. She explained detoxes were completely unnecessary since the body can take care of itself. It made good sense, so now if I want to detox, I just up my veggie content and drink more water.
Have a great week.
Brittany
Sleep and relaxation is always the name of the game for my weekends. I love it π

Yesterday I ran 7.5 miles for half marathon training, saw Captain America, and had my favorite beer (Sam Adams Cherry Wheat!). Today, I went to church, attended the Grand Opening event for the new Wegman’s near my house, and cooked a good dinner. Woohoo! Good list as always :).

I already ran 10 miles this morning and later I’m off to the Phx women’s expo today to see some amazing guest speakers and get a free mani and massage. I won free tix and one of my girlfriends wanted to go with me. I really just want to be home alone baking and cooking, but maybe it will do me good to be social. Thanks for your virtual hugs and support! See you soon at Blend! OMG….I’m excited and scared at the same time.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
ME TOO! Well, more so excited because I already broke the blogging conference ice with HLS, but it’s going to be awesomeeee π

Sounds like we’ve had very similar weekends! I’ve had what I like to call a ‘me-kend’… Was in meltdown mode myself last week so I’ve basically hermitted myself to get caught up on chores, and generally chilling – drawing in a coffee shop (haven’t done this in ages) and catching up on GOT. I think baking would be a good end to it!
Lauren
Love the one on a healthy relationship with food!
Elizabeth
Three things: Yesterday: grocery shopping, hanging out with my family, watched “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (excellent!)
Today: Going to church, writing a talk, fixing dinner for my fam!
Thanks for a great visit. I love the name of your site. Intriguing and fun. Hope you feel better soon!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi, Elizabeth!

Looks like my bedtime reading for tonight is sorted, girl…thank you very much :)! Hope your Sunday leaves you recharged and reinvigorated for the week ahead. My day involved a lot of nothing today and it was very much needed. Three things I did today include:
1) Baked (which I accidentally put too much baking powder so I had to toss the goods…such a shame as the texture was fab)
2) Watched movies (When Harry Met Sally & Mrs. Doubtfire….winning)
3) Caught up with friends over dinner
Have a great one :)!
Jessie
Those twenty acts of kindness brightened my whole day. I always love hearing stories of people doing good for others – even when it doesn’t benefit the in the least. Just goes to show that there truly are so many wonderful people in this world.
Checked out the chicken recipes, and wow the Chicken with Tomato Herb Pan Sauce sounds divine!

I feel you Hunnie! HUGS!! xxx
Jo @ Living Mint Green
Hi!
I’ve been so lazy this weekend. I spent all day yesterday reading and cleaning. Today will be more exciting though. I’m going for a long run, meeting a friend for breakfast and hopefully spending some time outside in the sunshine! Did you see the weather forecast for next week? SPRING? Please God.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I knowwwww. We -might- hit 19 on Wednesday, and while the warm weather is awesome, I can’t wait to start seeing some colour. Everything is brown and grimy around here!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
I”m glad that you’re able to relax this weekend lady – it was really sounding like you needed it! I told you to tackle that stack of books :-p
Yesterday: presented at a conference…watched presentations at a conference….came home and walked the dog at 9 pm because he was insanely hyper after being on his own all afternoon.
Today: heading to the bank to sort out student loan stuff, going to Costco, taking the dog to the park.
Happy Sunday love!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
And P.S. – thanks for the link love! <3
Julie @ Girl on the Move
Thanks for sharing my link girl!

I hope your day brightens your spirits, Amanda!! π
meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles
Um, how did I miss the meltdown? Was it while I was busy throwing my computer across Starbucks? Hmm….Three things yesterday – long run, red mango and out for my fave sushi for dinner…three things today – short run, playing around in the kitchen and hopefully some window shopping to relax rather than write. Although something tells me I will be playing catch up on work. Bleh.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
π I think it happened while you might have been sleeping — and when I should have been! Crazy what a little sleep dep can do to ya.
Danica @ It's Progression
I really loved that post about embracing weight gain – it’s so rare to see that sort of attitude in the media.
I hope your day is relaxing!!

Yesterday I went for a morning run and lift session, got the yummy Whole Foods hot bar for lunch with my mom and moved a good majority of my dorm things back home! Oh I had to share one more too I went to the Other Women! It was fantastic!
Becky @ Olives n Wine
Mmm…. so many banana link-ups! (okay, just two but that’s good in my book π ) Thanks for sharing mine, Ms. Amanda! And get your booty back to bed for some sleep. I didn’t sleep AT ALL 2 weeks ago and now I’m sick. You never realize how important sleep is until you go without it. #endmomrant xoxo
Megan @ Meg Go Run
I am glad you can relax today and hopefully unwind a bit. Feeling overwhelmed is the worst. I’m a teacher, and May is the month where the shit hits the fan for me… I am going to try very hard to not get too stressed and to just say NO to things. Even today… I was supposed to volunteer for something but my legs are still sore and I’m exhausted and I just need some down time and some me time. I feel guilty about it but I am trying not to.
3 things I did yesterday: run (ouch!), play cards with my hubby, caught up on sleep
3 things I’m doing today: studying (I hope!), lifting upper body, making some food for the week (if I can motivate myself.)
Nichole
I am so sorry to hear about your meltdown:( Sometimes they can be a good thing because they help you to get everything out but it’s not a great thing when your going through it. I hope you’re doing a little better now<3 You definietly deserve to do nothing!! – I cannot wait for graduation to finally have time to get back to reading some books I choose! – Always love going through the links you suggest. – Have a good Sunday Amanda!
Nichole
Also thank you for sharing my link!! :)) I’m not sure how I missed it the first time reading through but I was going back through to bookmark some and saw it then. I smiled so so big! Thank you again girly<3 I appreciate it!
