Happy Sunday, friendly faces! π
I feel like it’s been forever since we’ve chatted — I’m going through withdrawals over here! I know, I know… I’m the one that didn’t show up, but I needed to take a breather on Friday… which is just a roundabout way of saying that I’ve been spending far too much time snowboarding and not enough time writing. I have been reading, though, and this week’s link love is full of some good stuff.
And speaking of this week’s link love… Remember how I mentioned that I was going to be adding a new feature to it? Well, that feature is to give you guys the ability to add your own favourite posts from the past week via a linkup at the end of this post. It doesn’t require you to link back to or mention Spoons, so you can share whichever post you feel is the most helpful or that you’re the most proud of. I’d really like to make this a weekly feature, so we’ll see how things go today.
Enjoy your Sunday π

Natalie Staeckeler
You always post the best links that help me control my mentality and emotions. It’s been such a hectic weak, and reading some of these articles really helped me. Thank you.
Also, I think people adding in their own links is genius. You always come up with the best stuff. Kudos to you. Kudos to you. π
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I can definitely relate to those weeks — I hope things calm down for you soon <3
Kim @ Hungry Healthy Girl
I love your new link-up feature! What a great idea! I also love Pinch of Yum’s helpful posts. I caught both of the ones in your link up. Heading over to check out that gum link. I know it’s not a good habit and I’ve decreased my gum chewing by quite a bit, but I still have a piece a day.
Tiffany
Thanks for sharing all of these great links! I’m def going to try those almond joy balls!
Kim
Yesterday : went to a high school play, went to bed at an embarrassing early hour, spent waaaay too much on skinny margaritas from Friday’s

This is a really good idea to link to other articles. I love reading other people’s posts and seeing what others are reading. I actually gave up gum over a year ago and it was the best thing I did for myself…I no longer feel like I crave it or need it. Plus most of those effects are true.

When my mom was going through radiation treatment for her breast cancer, she got really bad burns due to the chemicals. Teatree oil was one of the only things that soothed it!
Meg @ Meg Go Run
Amanda, I love your link love posts. I always find a couple that interest me and I click on them for either a laugh or to learn something. I am going to try the turkey chili from Iowa Girl Eats. It looks divine and would be an awesome post workout food!
Megan (The Lyons' Share)
Ugh … bummer! That article just made me spit out my gum. A habit I really want to break, and the lanolin explanation made me want to break it even more :). And my mom shared that article on the 94-year-old woman … amazing!! Thanks for sharing!
Nicole @ FruitnFitness
I always love your link love posts! I’m heading over to read some of them now. I always have a hard time with food posts. I want to make all the foods!! Too bad that I usually cook for one and can’t eat 30 tasty meals a day.
Davida @ The Healthy Maven
You’re a pro linker! <–is that a word?
Sorry for going MIA on you. This weekend has been crazy but today feels like a weight has been lifted. Deets to come π
Christine@ Apple of My Eye
Love the addition that you put in! I swear, you’re so tech savvy with all this blogging stuff ;).
GREAT links! I’m a huge follower of Lindsay and Bjork form Pinch of Yum (like, how cool are they?!) and really love to read their income reports and her post on artificial lighting is fantastic! I’m looking into pimping Apple of My Eye out and would love to get one soon. Just ordered a new blog design, though, so I should wait until I generate a bit more income to pay for it hahah!
Oh oh oh, and I also joined the SITS community and really love it :). Glad to see we have common interests haha!
And last thing, I promise, since I know we’re both big on working on and growing our food photography, I saw something last night that might interest you! I’m constantly in need of cool looking backgrounds (wood is my favorite) but don’t want to buy a table just to get the texture. I found these prints: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SwankyPrints and they are FANTASTIC and have rave reviews! I’m planning on ordering one or two today :). Just thought they might interest you!
And this end the longest comment in the history of comments haha! Hope you have a relaxing Sunday π
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Okay those prints are seriously the coolest thing ever. Thanks for sharing, girlie! I’m definitely considering snagging a couple of those…
meredith @ Cookie ChRUNicles
What a great link-up idea! Love it….As for the chewing gum article, I saw that. I have a serious gum thing going with Extra Watermelon that I would love to give up. It’s oh so addicting.
Cassie
Thanks so much for the additional link part of link-up! That’s so awesome of you! π
I wanted something to read while I ate breakfast so I stopped over to see what you had in store this week! Loved the almond joy energy balls!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
I love the link-up idea – smart, lady! And I just read Pinch of Yum’s post on artificial lighting like 15 minutes ago – some great ideas.
And of course, I have a million new tabs open now π
Yesterday: went to the Food and Wine show, did more research on hormone-related stuff, skipped the gym and post-writing
Today: going to TRX, having a friend come over for chocolate chip pancakes, play more Fallout.
Happy Sunday love!
Ang @ Nutty for Life
The natural remedies for hair loss is something I must check out immediately. My mom and grandma both lose hair like crazy, and I have noticed that my hair falls out on the reg in bigger clumps than most people. I don’t want to end up hairless because my hair is something I treasure, as silly as that sounds. I am always trying to do things to improve the quality of it! Also, I love that you have made this a kind of link up. I’ll have to stop back once I decide which post to share from my favorites of the week… there was a lot of good stuff out there, as usual.
Sarah
RE: the 17 ideas for improving health. I am definitely going to invest in some raw honey to make the mask. One of the tips is to swish either coconut or sesame oil in your mouth for 15 minutes. 15 minutes? (scratches head) I am hoping that’s a typo. I don’t think I could keep up the swishing for so long.
Thanks for the plethora of reading material. Enjoy the last bit of your weekend!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I use raw honey on my face all the time and it makes a -huge- difference in how my skin looks and feels. And re: the swishing… it’s not a typo, unfortunately. That’s actually what oil pulling involves π
Katie @ Daily Cup of Kate
I am making those almond joy energy balls today and can’t wait! Always love your Link Love posts- thanks for sharing!
Becky @ Olives n Wine
Great idea on the link up! π I loved Pinch of Yum’s artificial light post as well – smart, smart cookie that Lindsay is!
Parita @ myinnershakti
Tea tree oil has been one of my saviors in terms of acne. Love the stuff!
Hope you had an amazing weekend!
Amy @ Long Drive Journey
Thanks for the link love! I, too, LOVED both of the posts you linked from Pinch of Yum. Their income reports are fascinating, and I now want to go out and buy one of those lights so that I can stop waking up before dawn to take food pictures! I hope you’ve had a wonderful time snowboarding and enjoying yourself – blogging breaks (as any other life breaks) are definitely necessary from time to time!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Riiiiiight? I’m seriously considering going out to buy one of those lights -just- to save myself the stress of having to do everything in that tiny little time window.
Heather @fitncookies
What a fun feature! Thanks π I did laundry, took two naps, and went to game night yesterday. Today, couch, couch, and drink fluids to feel better? haha Sounds like a lazy day but I am sick of being sick! hahah
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Sending tonnes of healing vibes your way, lady! Hope you feel better soon <3
Ms.J
A friend of mine is addicted to Tea Tree oil..I knew about the acne but wasn’t aware that it is such an all rounder. Looking forward to spending the rest of my afternoon on these good reads π
