Yeah, I give up.
I’ve been sitting here for about 15 minutes trying to come up with a fancy intro for this post and it’s just not happening. So instead I’m just going to say… Happy March! Here’s life as I Currently know if…
Current book: Nothing new 😥 I haven’t been to the bookstore in a while so I’ve just been re-reading bits and pieces of old books. If anyone has any good fantasy/adventure book recommendations, I’d love to hear them!
Current music: Shipwreck by USS.
[youtube=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM-BDSE6ZPk&w=640&h=427″]
Current guilty pleasure: Crazy car selfies. Because what else are you supposed to do when you’re stuck in traffic and there’s nothing new in your Instagram feed?
Current nail colour: Birthday suit! And no, that’s not the witty name of some nude nail polish. I’ve just been too lazy to paint my nails for the past couple of weeks.
Current drink: Coconut water. I don’t know if it’s the cold, dry air or the fact that I’ve been slacking on my water intake, but I’ve been feeling constantly parched. I’ve always found coconut water a lot more hydrating than regular water, so I’ve been downing that like it’s my job.
Current food: Coconut basmati rice… which is basically just a fancy way of saying white basmati rice cooked in coconut milk.
Current obsession: Makeup Forever HD foundation. My skin has been acting a little temperamental lately so I decided to switch out my foundations to see if it would make a difference. It did.
Current wish: That the ends of my hair would realize that it’s more beneficial to stick together rather than try to go their own separate ways (read: that my split ends would vanish).
Current need: A haircut, probably. And a tan wouldn’t hurt either.
Current triumph: Being freaking amazing at latte art 😆
Current bane of my existence: I was going to say studying anatomy since that’s what I’m currently learning in school and it’s not exactly my favourite subject in the world, but I don’t want to fall into that kind of negative mindset. It’s something I need to learn and there’s no changing it, so I may as well make the best of it. And yes… that’s very much me trying to give myself a pep talk 😆
Current indulgence: Hawaii! Remember that vacation I mentioned booking a little while back? I’ll be headed to Hawaii in a little less than two weeks (!!!). March is apparently my favourite time to head somewhere warm, with a trip to Oahu in 2013, Kauai in 2014, and now Maui this year. Can.not.WAIT.
Current procrastination: Getting aforementioned haircut…
Current blessing: Living without pain. Having my back seize up on me really made me realize how big of a blessing it is to be able to live without pain each day. There are people out there who have to deal with that as part of their everyday lives, and it’s unbelievable how much it takes out of you. My back is only about 90% better, but it feels freaking amazing compared to what it was — I can actually get dressed without feeling like my spine might snap.
Current excitement: T minus 11 days until I hop on a plane for Hawaii. You can say I’m a little excited about that one. And by “a little excited” I mean “Holy.SNAP I’m freaking going to Hawaii!” *happy dance*
Current mood: Silly. Excited. And kind of sleepy. Quickly approaching the realm of “punch drunk.”
Current link: Playsnake.org. Because sometimes you’ve just gotta indulge in some old school gaming.
Your turn! Give me your current:
1) … book.
2) … food.
3) … bane of existence.
4) … procrastination.
5) … mood.

Living without pain is such a blessing! I always remember that when I am really sore from work or have a bruise and it goes away. I feel so much better! It’s also the way I feel after getting a great nights sleep. You don’t appreciate it until it goes away 🙂
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
Hawaii sounds amazing. After my crazy, injured life this year I could use a vacation. Funny enough I hadn’t thought about planning one until I read this. You’re always inspirational like that! 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
😆 Glad I could help! 😉 Maybe you forget to plan vacations because you already live somewhere warm and don’t need to escape the cold. Me? Brrrrrr.
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I’ll be honest, your latte art is a little bit scary. Perhaps with a bit more work, you’ll be painting Picasso’s in no time.
Hawaii!! So excited for you. Send me some sun or at least a decent bronzer so I don’t melt in the snowy landscape.
Look at you playing video games again. I’m digging it.
Kim
Going to Hawaii in less than 2 weeks would make me super happy – it has been far too long since my last beach trip!
Alexis @ Hummusapien
I don’t know which one I’m more jealous of…your latte art or that you’re GOING TO HAWAII!!! Is it just me or do you go on the best vacations ever?! Take me with you puh-lease!!
Ange @ Cowgirl Runs
For an easy YA read The Selection Trilogy was entertaining. It’s basically The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor.
I also just started The Raven Cycle and it’s great so far as well. I pretty much just read YA because I’m super lame-sauce.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I love YA! Tell me you’ve read the Under The Never Sky trilogy?! That’s one that I really love.
Kat
jealoussssss of your upcoming trip!! My sister and her husband might actually be moving there this year if my brother in law gets stationed there, so you’d better believe Ninja and I have some Hawaii trips planned!! Not quite sure what island [I assume Oahu] but to be honest I’ll take any island!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I think Oahu is a good guess considering that’s where Pearl is, but you really can’t go wrong with Hawaii 🙂
Riley
1) The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. It’s not fantasy, which I love as well, but it’s hilarious and wonderful.
2) Coconut chips. The brand is “bare.” And they are incredible.
3) Applying for teaching jobs. Just the whole process of moving to a new city, really.
4) An online test that’s due this weekend.
5) Content. Productive (this is rare). Happy to be taking a break from the productivity by typing this comment.
I always love these “currently” posts! xxx
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve heard amazing things about those coconut chips but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them here! I do love Bare’s apple chips, though.
Alison
Little Big Lies by Liane Moriarty is a wonderful, but light read that I highly recommend! I wrote a review on it if you want to check it out – https://sweetlypetite.wordpress.com/2015/01/13/book-review-big-little-lies-by-liane-moriarty/
Hawaii looks amaaazing.. ah, I want warm weather. Enjoy it 😉
Beth
oh, Hawaii sounds divine right about now!! Winter has beaten me up. I loved Anatomy….but it was so time consuming. What are you studying anatomy for? Curious. I need a haircut bad!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
It’s part of the curriculum for the holistic nutritionist degree I’m currently working towards.
Sarah @ Making Thyme for Health
YES! I knew you were going to Hawaii! 🙂
I’m so jealous but also incredibly happy for you. Just make sure you get a haircut before you go, k? 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
😆 It’s on the to-do list! And I’ve been creeping your blog because I know you went to Maui 😛
Jessica
Current book? Race Weight by Matt Fitzgerald. Absolutely awesome.
Hollie
My skin has also been really temperamental lately. I think it’s the sudden change in climate, ect. I always enjoy your makeup currently because I feel like I can learn so much.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Have you tried MAC’s cleanse off oil to remove your makeup? I found that helped a -tonne- in keeping my face from getting super dry and breaking out because of that.
Leslie @ Life Begins at 30?
Ahhhh!! Hawaii sounds so great right now! I would be procrastinating everything and just planning things to do in Hawaii if I were you.
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job
Hawaii look amazing right now. The sun actually came out here in Chicago and I felt like a vampire that needed to hide away. I can’t wait until summer here but I need to remember to bring my sunglasses!
I also need to get a haircut but I wear it up a lot and that never helps me remember that is is broken and awful haha.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I definitely hear that, girl! My hair is up 99.9% of the time I’m at home, which probably doesn’t help with the whole split ends things either 😕
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Yay for Hawaii!! I’ve never been! So exciting to look forward to trips. 🙂
Emma @ Em-powered Wellness
Ahh so jealous of your Hawaii trip, that will be amazing! Coconut rice sounds delicious.. Might add that one to my current foods. My current books are 29 Gifts and Eleanor and Park
Shashi at RunninSrilankan
That’s YOUR Latte Art? Girl – think we need a tutorial post – seriously – I’ve tried and never gotten further than the eyes – GAH!
I would be delirious if I had an upcoming trip to Hawaii if I lived the rest of the time in the temperatures you live in! Yay for you – cannot wait to hear all about it!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The crazy thing is that our winter hasn’t even been -that- bad this year so I’m not feeling that big of a need to escape. Obviously can’t say no to Hawaii, though
Emma @ Life's A Runner
Nobody can blame you for wanting to get away in March! February in E-town is always so dreadful that it makes perfect sense. 🙂
I actually have no procrastination / bane of my existence right now. I feel like that should be illegal for a university student to say?? It won’t last for long, though, so I’m just revelling in it while I can. Have a great Monday!
Kerry
No matter how much I try I cannot like coconut water! >.<
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape
1) book – the newspaper – addicted to news!
2) food – spinach, kale and all the greens!
3) bane of existence – dark, dingy, cold weather.
4) procrastination – instagram and facebook… Especially instagram!
5) mood – happy in general, tired right now… It’s 5pm here right now… Looking forward to sleepy time!
Ps – so jealous of your Hawaii trip! But you certainly deserve an awesome break away!
Nikki@will run for pizza
I LOVE rice cooked in coconut milk! I need a new book or series to get into too…Current bane of my existence: cars. we are a 1 car family right now and the transmission just went on our ONE car. 🙂 yay. I HATE spending money on cars! And now going 2 weeks with NO car! I’m trying to find a positive here, but I might not see it until this ordeal is OVER! haha
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Ugh, I feel ya, girl. Car trouble is the -worst.- Ranked right up there with computer trouble…
Ang @ Nutty for Life
Current food… banana chocolate chip bread.
Current book… Big Little Lies.
Current bane of existence… my bank because they suck at customer service.
Current procrastination… doing my taxes.
Current mood… hopeful.
Now I realize I need to start cooking rice in coconut milk! Haha jealous that you’re going to the islands. Yay sun!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Ack! Don’t even remind me that taxes are due soon! Don’t want to think about it!
Christine {dreamBIGrunner}
Hawaii!!?? Oh I’m so jealous! Have fun!
1) … book: Running on Empty by Marshall Ulrich
2) … food: Nutella tortillas rolled up mmhhhh
3) … bane of existence: freezing temperatures. Is it spring yet?
4) … procrastination: cleaning windows
5) … mood: excited for my daughter;s 1st birthday next week
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Almost spring! Just a little over two weeks left 😀
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner
Current mood: stressed and excited. Moving back home so lots of emotions going on depending on the time of day. Procrastinating: getting more stuff done with my move
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out
haircut and a tan are definitely on my ‘need’ list!!
Pip {Cherries & Chisme}
Oh I’m definitely procrastinating getting my hair cut too! But what to do to it when I do? I want a big change but I don’t want to cut much off it or dye it… Kinda making it hard for myself there aren’t I?
I shall stick with your positivity and say that my current assignments (and stress…) are not the bane of my existence either!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I know that problem all too well! I keep telling myself I’ll do something drastic and different, but then I always chicken out and go for the same old thing. One of these days!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs For Food
Oh my gosh, you’re gonna have so much fun in Hawaii! I’m totally jealous cause I’ve never been. BUT it’s ok cause I found out I now have two vacations on the books for May, so it’ll be my turn soon.
I need a tan big time. I’m suuuuper pale these days. I figure I’ll start up the bottle tan mid-April once it gets warmer. Real tans don’t actually happen for me, sadly.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
They -rarely- ever happen for me either, mostly because my skin isn’t the biggest fan of the sun and I break out in heat rashes 😕 I’ve already started using fake tanner to build up a base so that I don’t burn to a crisp when I go!
Suzy
I am so excited for you that you’re going to Hawaii! BEST PLACE ON EARTH. I love love love your latte art. You completely rule. Ha! Love it.
Cassie @ Almost Getting it Together
so jealous about Maui!! I really hope I get there this year, especially since it’s a pretty easy flight for me. Can’t wait to hear all about it so it can inspire my trip 🙂 🙂
1) … book: the circle by Dave Eggers
2) … food: i’ve been all about eggs lately!
3) … bane of existence: not having enough hours in the day
4) … procrastination: packing, writing blog posts
5) … mood: happy
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, & Beers
I’d be excited about Hawaii too! I’ve never been there but would love to go some time.
Irina
I need a haircut so badly but my last haircut in August traumatized me – I was too ambitious and allowed the woman to cut waaay too many inches off (at least it felt that way). It felt so short! I’m really sensitive when it comes to my hair clearly. Now it’s crazy long but I love it.
HAWAII!! I say that with both excitement and envy as I sit staring out my window at al the snow outside. Spring, you there? Nope? Nope didn’t think so…
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
My last haircut ended in hair that was waaaay shorter than I would have liked as well, which was interesting to experience, but I definitely prefer my hair longer. And if it makes you feel any better, I feel like we’ve just gotten hit by a blizzard up here. It’s not that cold, but it’s snowing and blowing so bad that sometimes it’s impossible to see anything 😯
Erin @ The Almond Eater
Ha! You crack me up. That latte art…. 😉 SO TALENTED. Ahhh so jealous of your Hawaii trip–this time of the year is the perfect time to get away. OH oh oh and YES pale skin twins. Forever and always.
Emily @ Sweet Summer Smiles
I SOOOOOO need a haircut too! I’ve been putting that one off for way too long! haha Love Vita Coco too! AND… you are going to Hawaii??! You are going to have a blast!! I’m still trying to convince my husband to let us go 🙂
Amy @ Mama Running for God
Currently I am actually in between books. I finished Four, the series spin off from the Divergent series. I am reading the book, Born to Run, but only here and there. I need to actually finish it. Then I also have a small short book I am reading for a blog review that someone sent me.
Currently I am obsessed with granola mixed with yogurt with chia seeds on top. Who knows. lol
I don’t know if I have a Bane of Existence…hmm…probably the fact that I cannot run without peeing, it’s a major issue. I never knew incontinance could be so bad 🙁
Procrastination has been horrible for me at the end of 2014. I stall to get clients checks cashed, and order prints? Horrible. I still have a blog post to type up for a client. The business is suffering because of my procrastination!
Right now my mood is pretty good. I am waiting for the coffee to brew & I just woke up.
So jealous of you going to Maui!!!! Have a blast!!
Bridget
I, too have been rocking the “birthday suit” nail color. Normally I’m pretty good at getting my nails done (I don’t have the ability to do it myself), but with the icky weather, I gave up for the last month.
I’m actually happy I did, because my nails needed a chance to heal from having polish on them for so long.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I think that’s why I gave up on mine as well… With the cold dry air, they just chip waaaay too quickly. But at least spring is on the way!
Sarah
Hawaii? So exciting! Hooray for sunshine.
I am a children’s bookseller so I pretty much an endless supply of ARCs (advanced reader copies) come my way. I am generally not a fantasy fan. However, I was invited to dinner with a new author and her publisher a few weeks ago. In preparation I read her novel (which was released last Tuesday) It is called “Dove Arising” and is the first installment in what will be a trilogy. It is a young adult novel and even i enjoyed it. Plus the author is a really cool junior at Columbia and very intelligent. This is her first novel and she was very excited and humble.
I haven’t commented in forever because I have been uber-busy but I read every post and LOVE your blog. Happy March!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks for the recommendation, Sarah! I’ll definitely look into it the next time I’m in the store!
Taca @ A Side Of Dessert
Maui?!? I’m sooooo soooo soooo jealous!! You’re going to have such a fabulous time! Your latte art is point on as well! We should get a lesson! Have a fabulous week 🙂
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
The latte art is awesome 🙂 I’m also dying over the crazy car selfies. With all the carlines I wait in I think I need to start doing that!
Khushboo
I feel you on the temperamental skin, mine has been acting up lately which is so unlike it! One thing that has really been helping me is aloe vera gel- definitely something to try! SO jealous about your upcoming Hawaii trip – you will have a blast! As for my current food, that would have to be ryvita cracker bread with peanut butter & fruit preserves- tucking into a few as I type :)!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
You may have just convinced me to attack my unsuspecting aloe plant 😛 And you can never go wrong with the nut butter and jam combo! I’ve actually been eating mine on cereal lately 😆
