Happy Monday, friendly faces! π
Who’s pumped that it’s June?!? Apparently I am, seeing as I’ve been awake since the crack of dawn (read: somewhere after 4) and more productive than any human ought to be before the sun comes up. I’m sure it’ll come back to bite me in the butt later in the day, but for now I’m allllll yours.
So if you’ve been reading Spoons for at least a couple of months, you may have noticed that I’m a fan of filling out these currently posts at the beginning of every month, and since it just so happens to be the beginning of a new one… here’s life as I currently know it!
. – . – . – .
Current book: As we speak I’m making my way through Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. I was going to start it last month after finishing up Throne of Glass, buuuuuut then I got sucked into reading the sequel and prequels from that series so this one kind of got pushed back. Better late than never!
Current music: Red Lights by TiΓ«sto… on repeat.
[youtube=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFF0mV24WCY&w=560&h=315″]
Current guilty pleasure: See “obsession” below.
Current nail colour: Still loving the baby pinks on my nails (mostly because chips aren’t as noticeable), but I’ve been rocking OPI’sI Bright Lights Big Colour on my toes, which is a bright coral with subtle glitter.
Current drink: Still coffeeeeeeeee…. But more specifically, Americanos from Starbucks with a splash of cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I die. And yes, I still drink hot coffee in the warmer weather.
Current food: Ice cream and/or ice cream sandwiches. I’ve been enjoying it/them on a daily basis for a few weeks now, and it doesn’t look like that habit is going away any time soon.
Current obsession: Omigosh, you guys…. this is embarrassing, and I have no idea how it happened. I mean, I know how, but not why. I was a little bored the other day and browsing through apps on my iPad, when I came across Farmville. I honestly didn’t expect to like it, and wasn’t even crazy about it when I first started playing, but daaaaaaang… somewhere along the line, addiction happened, and I’ve pretty much become a lost cause. If you need me, I’ll be tending my crops…
Current wish: Uhmmmm… is it a good thing that I can’t really think of anything?
Current need: More hours in the day! I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew in terms of work, projects, and studies, so I’m feeling a little stretched thin at the moment. Just gotta remember to breathe.
[source]
Current triumph: Remembering to breathe π Even though sometimes I think I forget π―
Current bane of my existence: Scatterbrained-ness. Does anyone ever find that the more things they have on their to-do list, the more trouble they have figuring out where to start, and the more time they waste doing nothing? Maybe this. But no, that sounds important. Ack! What if this doesn’t get done!? Current story of my life. Clearly I need to work on prioritization.
Current indulgence: Still going with the naps for this one.
Current procrastination: Finding a dress for Blend! I have this habit of leaving things until the last minute and then freaking out that they’re not going to get done. It’s a bad habit, but one I can’t seem to shake — I guess I just work well under pressure.
Current blessing: I’m just going to go with life in general. I know I say this almost every time, but I’m a fan of life — the good and the bad. The good for obvious reasons, and the bad for the lessons they provide.
Current excitement: T minus 3 days until I get to see some of my favourite people at Blend. Just a tad bit excited about that one.
Current mood: Freaking GIDDY!
Current link: Bebe.com. I think I mentioned that Blend is coming up and I have yet to find a dress? I won’t be buying it online, but I’m trying to get a good idea of what I want before I head out to the mall… hopefully some time today!
Do you play any games on your iPad or phone?

Whenever I stumbled upon games with the similar model to farmville, I get hooked for 1-2 months straight and work my schedule out around it! It’s terrible haha especially if my boyfriend is playing it and we’re competing to see who’s leveling faster haha.
Cori @ olivetorun.com
I’m excited to follow along as you all have a great time at blend! π Enjoy!
Hillary | Nutrition Nut on the Run

Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I still haven’t reserved a place on the shuttle! Eeep! Don’t let them leave without me! Or get on my case to get on that!
Stacy
I am right here with you on your ‘current bane of existence’ with the whole scatterbrained and overwhelming feelings idea! I get o overwhelmed when I have a gazillion things coming up that I start to shut down and do nothing about it! So silly!
book…Emily Griffin: The One and Only
food…just ate some Bing Cherries
need…a few extra hours tonight so I can finish some meal prepping AND go to sleep early after I get home from a late night at work
excitement…5 days of school left (I’m a teacher)
mood…overwhelmed π
Cassie
Naps are THE BEST indulgence, love that you agree!!
book: reconstructing amelia – it’s about this daughter who allegedly commits suicide and her mom doesn’t believe she would do it so she tries to figure out what really happened!
food: just finished a yummy salad!
need: for the day to be over haha
excitement: i have a trip planned next week π
mood: melancholy (I blame it on the weather)
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
Loving that coral nail color! I’m pretty much loving everything coral these days. I currently have bright yellow on my toes and nothing on my nails. Ever since I got shellac on my nails, regular nail polish isn’t the same and I instantly get annoyed when I get a chip after only a couple days. Ohhh well. Guess I need to get over it and accept that regular nail polish will suffice for now. π
Can’t wait to see you at Blend! Wahooooo! xo
Alicia
Book: Sadly, nothing ATM. I need to get back into it.
Food: AM snack. Strawberrys & Grapes
Need: not a thing. I have everything I need. Fiancee & 2 puppies
Excitment: I just got engaged. Wedddings plans on the brain π
Mood: anxious.. unfortunatly. Go Away!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Eee! congrats on your engagement! So exciting! Although I don’t even want to think about how overwhelmed I’d get with wedding planning π
Ang @ Nutty for Life
My current book is The Circle by Dave Eggers. He’s one of my favorite writers! So far it’s pretty good.
I’m sure you’re super excited for Blend! I would be π Hopefully the week flies by for ya so you can head to Utah! Oh and as for games.. not really. I tend to get really frustrated by tech games haha
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves
Thank you for reminding me why I never got into Farmvilleβ¦Although now I’m really craving an ice cream sandwich!!
And I totally feel ya on the overwhelming to-do list thing, which only results in further lack of productivity. Story of my life ALWAYS.
Current food: waffles and pancakes.
Current need: dresses for all the upcoming senior school events
Current excitement: the senior events!
Current mood: content π
Polly @ Tasty Food Project
I still drink hot coffee in warm weather too. There’s something about piping hot coffee that I really like but every now and then I’ll enjoy an iced coffee.
The current book that I’m reading is The Happiness Project. It’s a great book about appreciating the little things in life!
Khushboo
Clearly we are on the same wavelength today….I put up a Currently post today as well:-). I am such a fan of online window shopping- it gives me an idea whether certain shops are worth going to based on their online selection. I just found out that Oreos make ice cream sandwiches- definitely going to be trying one out ASAP! Aside from cereal, my current favorite food is sushi, specifically salmon avocado makis. Having 3 different sushi restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance from my building only fuels my love!
Jaclyn @ Bumpsweat
I have a giant to-do list for this week before we go on vacation, which is what I’m currently super-excited about, and I find myself procrastinating like crazy. I think it’s because there’s things is rather not do, so I hesitate starting those, but then never get anything else done. I just need to ‘eat the toad’ or whatever that expression is about doing the things you don’t want to in order to get them out of the way.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Ugh, girl, I know -exactly- what you mean! That’s what I’m currently going through as well.
Brittany
I so wish we lived near each other so we could have random “just after 4 am” coffee and blogging dates. Even just sitting there not speaking, but blogging and sipping together sounds magical. I can’t wait to see the dress you choose for Blend! π
Lauren
After my extensive Candy Crush addiction, I refuse to download any game on my Kindle. Lolz Especially since I loved the Sims and Roller Coaster Tycoon when I was younger, I think Farmville would take over my life fast.
1) β¦ book. Uhm… Still on a health magazine kick. I need to go to the bookstore ASAP.
2) β¦ food. GRILLED CORN. All the corn.
3) β¦ need. Money and a life? Lol
4) β¦ excitement. Uhm… I’m seeing A Million Ways to Die in the West on Tuesday. ANNND I MIGHT GO TO COMIC CON IN PHILLY!
5) β¦ mood. Meh would be a good way to describe it.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Omg DON’T download it — it’s all-consuming. And Comic Con?!?! Oooomg jealous! I’ve always secretly wanted to go to one of those!
GiselleR @ Diary of an ExSloth
That nail polish looks so pretty! Keeping an eye out next time I go nail polish shopping π
Also, I never got into farmville but I was a cityville addict for a couple months and I totally feel your pain lol
Jemma @ Celery and Cupcakes
I think I have that exact OPI nail polish or something very similar from the brand. It’s such gorgeous shade to wear in the sunshine. π
Amy @ Long Drive Journey
Is it bad that I now really, really, REALLY want an ice cream sandwich now? And it’s not even 10am here. I’m excited for all of you going to Blend! I’m sure it will be a blast and I will be reading recaps until kingdom come. Enjoy meeting everyone and say hello to them for me!!
Hollie
haha farmville. Don’t start playing Happy Aquarium. That used to be my favorite facebook game. I have been loving painting my nails as well. (Probably not as well as you do…but I love it).
Ms.J
Coral is thee perfect summery color! Oh good heavens girl, leaving a dress to the extreme last!? Nooo, I would.die. So on one trip you get yourself all sorted? No second thoughts or choices!?
Overflowing to do lists; tell me about it! The worst dillema: when ev-ve-ry task feels of high importance, I’ll start on one – only to decide as the day runs on to abandon it for another job that can not be left for the next day. Crazy, yes.
Farmville looks like my favorite game from awhile back; Harvest Moon. At least a literal green thumb isn’t taken into consideration right π ?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
No second guesses! π That’s actually what I did for HLS too, and it worked out pretty well. Hopefully I can pull it off this time too!
Bethany @ Accidental Intentions
I can TOTALLY relate to the scatterbrained thing. I like to be busy, but when I have a lot on my plate, it can sometimes feel so overwhelming that I opt for flight rather than fight (which may or may not account for most of the time I spend reading blogs…haha). Once I make a to-do list I’m all right, but before then — danger zone for sure.
Kailey (Caffeinated Runner)
Current Book: The Golden State! I can’t put it down. Such a good read π
Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat
My current mood is definitely happy!!! BUT, I am bummed that I won’t be coming to Blend, especially that the day is almost here! In fact, I would have much preferred to come to Blend then go to that wedding that’s keeping me from going! Well, maybe next year…
meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles
OK can we not discuss Blend? I am sad I won’t be there! Instead, let’s discuss where and when we are going to hold our own Blend trip. lol – I never play games on my phone. Ever. Never a Candy Crush. I maybe did one game that let you pretend to bake cakes once…I haven’t read a book in a while but it’s on my list to do. Current food obsession? Hmm, nothing new but I am all about cakes and goodies with my birthday approaching!
Karen @ Kama Fitness
Ahh…I currently need a nice tan for this warm weather we’re getting! π
Missy
I know EXACTLY what you mean about the scatterbraininess when it comes to having lots to do.
I have a secret that helps SOSO much.
You just have to start somewhere. Do it all. Start to finish.
I don’t worry about prioritizing if I am starting to get overwhelmed, because as soon as I do one thing I find that I get my jam on and start knocking stuff out in proper order.
This works at work and at home with chores, I swear by it!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
You’re definitely right, and that’s what I find ends up happening 95% of the time — it’s just trying to convince myself to start that’s the tricky thing!
Missy
FOR REAL THOUGH!
I unfortunately haven’t found the secret for that!
Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne
Ahahahaha Yes! I’m not the only one who has been sucked into Farmville!! It’s so addicting, and I’d rather not say how much time I spend playing….And of everything I miss, ice cream sandwichs will be the most missed. There is just something about the combination of ice cream and there delicious cookie-ness. Too good.
Kate @ Baking in Yoga Pants
I love that nail polish color – smokin’!! And yes to the ice cream sandwiches. I have 2 boxes in our freezer. I mean, it is summertime after all π
Livi
More hours in the day PLEASE haha. Need- to take the MCAT and be done with it!
Megan @ The Skinny-Life
I don’t know what to pack for Blend??? Does Everton wear dress pants Friday when they get in and then change to dresses or skirts? I can’t imagine wearing jeans right now it’s 1110 here. Big suitcase or little one? Help!!!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Awwr! Yeah just wear whatever you’re most comfortable in until the cocktail party in the evening, and then change into your dress. I’m packing mostly workout and casual clothes and taking a medium sized suitcase since there’ll be some awesome swag! Did you get the list they e-mailed us? That’s a pretty good idea of what we need!
Kim @ Racing Bananas
I can’t believe Blend is this week! Eek!
Caitlin
Book: throne of glass, food: cereal, eggs/toast, bagels, and froyo, need: my boy, my foot to stop being cranky, and more sleep, excitement: cake tasting on friday and then a weekend in NJ with my family, and mood: sleepily peaceful for another two minutes before I walk into the madness of Monday morning haha π
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Ack! I can’t wait to hear what you think of ToG! Crown of Midnight is even better, and if you read the prequels, everything starts to make even more sense!
Heather @fitncookies
I’m so so sad I won’t be going to Blend! I wish I could go and meet so many people I’ve connected with! Sadly, the airfare was a bit too much π I know you will be rocking whatever you find to wear π
Current book- a math book reading the lesson I have to teach today (ha, procrastination)
excitement- taught my first group fitness class this morning and was so excited!
mood- happy!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs For Food
Haha I had a run-in with Farmville a couple years ago and crop tending took over my life. That’s awesome you’re going to Blend. It sounds like it’ll be so much fun. I’ll live vicariously through all the recaps, I guess!
Shashi
I so love your “Currently” posts – this past weekend I caught a segment of a show on the Cooking Channel that featured some pretty unique ice cream sandwiches – gingerbread cookies with lemony ice cream sandwiched between – keylime ice cream sandwiched between chocolate cookies…so exotic, and so delectable sounding! Am so with you on the “Scatterbrained-ness” – specially when there’s so much to do! I fought this for as long as I could, but had to end up resorting to making to-do lists and checking them twice!
One of these days we are gonna be at the same blog conference…till then, am happy you get to attend Blend – looking forward to a recap post or 2 or 3 soon after!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Okay, those sandwiches seriously make my chocolate and vanilla ones sound so boring! Oh well — they’re still delicious π
Jessie
I feel like i’m going to sound boring, but I don’t have any games on my ipad! I just really don’t care to ever play any. I’m kind of a nerd and spend my free time looking @ the news. Haha!
Food: Jalapeno’s, eggs, bacon/veggie sandwiches
So jealous you get to attend Blend. So exciting π
Sarah
I want that nail color, so pretty!
I am ipad-less and my cell phone is just that, a phone so I have yet to play any games.

Favorite book now is called Chia Vitality by Janie Hoffman. I’m SO into it already, and just started it last night!!
Favorite food right now is anything in smoothie form. It’s the warm weather, I tell ya.
Happy Monday!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Awwr thanks girl! Life IS good, and I hope it’s treating you well too π And ditto on the smoothies! Except that I was eating them in the depths of winter so I can’t blame the weather π
