1. Happy Thanksgiving to all my wonderful American readers! I really wish that Canadian and American Thanksgiving lined up so that I didn’t have to get jealous when I see all of the delicious food littering the blog world. I almost thought about celebrating along with you guys, but roasting an entire turkey by myself is still a bit daunting – that’s what mom’s are for.
2. Speaking of cooking birds, you know what I miss the most about being a vegetarian? Not having to work with raw meat. I’ll spare you the gory pictures, but let’s just say that cooking chicken doesn’t exactly top my list of favorite activities. Aside from being paranoid about poisoning myself, the whole process just skeeves me out.
3. Why, oh why is Canada so behind on the times when it comes to stocking fun food? I see so many things around the blog world that I’ll never find up here, and one thing in particular has been driving me kind of crazy lately. Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea. I’ve found most of the other Celestial Seasonings holiday teas, but that one continues to evade me. If anyone wants to send me some, I would love you forever.
4. At least we have apples. I’ve been going through a ridiculous number of apples lately, mostly in the form of homemade applesauce. I made some on Sunday night using 10 apples, and I already need to make some more…
5. The fact that Hostess recently decided to close its doors is causing me a bit of grief. Why? Because I’ve never had a Twinkie. I know that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but hear me out. Twinkies seem like one of iconic foods that everyone has to have at least once in their life, and now that they’re going extinct, I may remain a Twinkie virgin for the rest of my life if I don’t act soon. Talk about pressure.
6. I was sitting in Starbucks the other day and there were 3 people at the table next to me who were all tinkering with their phones. They weren’t talking to each other, just sitting and clicking away. It actually made me a little sad to see. At this rate, face-to-face human interaction is soon going to become a thing of the past…
7. I don’t like warm food. Even on the rare occasion that I actually make something that requires cooking (as opposed to cereal, sandwiches, wraps, and waffles), I always wait for it to cool to room temperature before eating it. For some reason, things just taste better that way. I can still handle warm, but hot? Nasty.
8. Another thing I don’t enjoy? Washing my hair – it’s a time consuming ordeal. I mean, washing it is no big deal, but drying, styling, babying, pampering, etc.? Too much like work. Thank goodness for dry shampoo is all I can say… And I know this girl and my favorite sherpa can relate 😉
9. Big news! I baked made something in the kitchen!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Balls
10. Okay, so that doesn’t really count… but I’m working on it! It’s been almost a month since my last baking endeavor, and I’ve really been craving some homemade goodies so I’ll probably spend a good portion of tonight browsing recipes or trying to come up with one of my own. Any requests or suggestions are welcome!

Do you prefer eating your food hot or cold?
Have you ever had a Twinkie?
How often do you wash your hair?

Time to catch up on reading blogs! I almost choked to death when I saw the number of 300+ unread posts in my reader… and the same lack of time that caused this disaster is the reason why most of the time I eat cold food. It’s not really a choice, just a consequence and sometimes I really crave my mum’s hot meals coming straight out of the oven :'(
Never had a Twinkie (for obvious reasons) but, believe it or not, you can find the full variety of Christmas Celestial Seasonings teas in the import shops in Japan. Too bad it never crossed my mind to try them. Go figure… You can probably receive a truckload of tea from your readers. I’d send you some too but chances are it won’t arrive before Christmas 😀
Hair wash? Twice a week. And it’s still annoying to deal with all the knots and the frizz…

I love that tea. Last year I was brewing it in my coffee to add flavor. I stocked up so much that I still have a few boxes from last year.

I so need to get that tea in time for xmas!!!

Oh, I have many boxes of the sugar cookie tea. It’s delicious and I would be happy to send you some. Any chance you could send some of that dry shampoo? That looks like a really good one and I haven’t found one here that is decent at all. Ps. I’m recovered from my ED as well. It’s nice to read about how many times you just don’t count calories anymore. Although I’m a good 2-3 years into recovery (finally!!), I still count and obsess too much for my liking. Let me know about the tea!

I love combos of hot with cold with soft with crunchy foods!! HAHAH Twinkies are not good and I (BEING A GUY) wash my hair about everyday:)

I actually live 40 minutes away from the Celestial Seasonings factory in Colorado and I love going on tours there. The best thing about it is the gift shop–they sell chapsticks that use the scents of their most popular teas! I have a Mandarin Orange Spice, Lemon Zinger, and Peppermint sitting on my desk at the moment. I may have a problem 🙂

I’ve never had a Twinkie or used dry shampoo. I used to work with a girl who swore by dry shampoo! Her hair always looked great. Those cookie balls look amazing!
Mila
I remember feeling that way about missing food whenever I was abroad. I’d love to send you some tea if you can give me an address! Is this creepy? I’m just feeling benevolent and holiday-ey 🙂

I do wonder why the US always seems to get everything so fast! I guess that just shows how much we consume, consume, consume! haha. And it’s really weird but I loooooooooooove touching raw meat! I really get into it and start squeezing it and all, so yes. I’m really weird like that…:P And i’m not picky with hot/cold, but if a food is supposed to be hot, I love it torturously hot. Have a beautiful day Amanda!

No warm food? That’s so interesting. haha Though I’m no vegetarian, I have to agree with you – dealing with raw meat is no fun!
