Hi, hello and welcome your friendly faces to another monthly favourites post!
I’ve got quite a few products that I’m excited to share with you this month, so we’re just going to hop right into it to keep this post from getting too epic in length…
Colombian Blend Single Serve Coffee Pods from OneCoffee.
What it is: A single-serve coffee pod that you can use in your Keurig brewer.
Why I love it: They have the convenience of a K-cup without really tasting like one. From the site… “Our soft pods provide more of a “French Press” experience. There’s more surface area to extract the aroma and flavour of the coffee. The coffee smells better and tastes better because more water is in contact with the coffee grinds.” And I love that the coffee is organic and that the pods are biodegradable.
. – . – . – .
Frosted Mighty Flakes from Love Grown Foods.
What it is: A light and crunchy gluten-free flake cereal made from a mix of navy beans, garbanzo beans, and lentils.
Why I love it: Simply put, because it’s delicious. And addicting — almost dangerously so. This cereal is light, crunchy, and perfectly sweet while being free of GMOs, HFCS, and artificial colours and flavours. You’d never be able to tell that it’s made from beans.
And when it comes to foods that came out of the Spoons’ kitchen, blog recipes this month included:
Banana Bread Pudding || Hot Chocolate Smoothie
Apple Gouda Frittata || Cinnamon Bun Breakfast Bake
Dairy-free Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer || S’mores Mug Cake
Pumpkin Oat Greek Yogurt Muffins || Flourless Chocolate Orange Cranberry Muffins
Eyes Are The Window (Soul) eyeshadow palette from Stila.
What it is: A collection of 12 warmer-toned shadows with shades that range from soft to sultry and both matte and shimmery finishes.
Why I love it: It’s a high quality, wearable, one-stop, do it all shadow palette. The shadows themselves are super pigmented and blendable, and they come in a great variety of shades and finishes that all work together to allow you to easily come up with a variety of different looks that work for both day and night. This palette has been my daily go-to for about a year now, and it’s the only one I take with me when I travel or need to touch up. The fact that it’s square makes it really easy to handle, and I love the huge mirror it comes with.
. – . – . – .
Stay All Day waterproof liquid eyeliner from Stila.
What it is: A liquid eyeliner that’s waterproof, smudge proof, and long lasting.
Why I love it: It does everything it says it’ll do. This liner literally will not move, smudge, crease, or fade for the entire day (12+ hours) — even in the humidity. The fine marker tip makes it really easy to apply, with great colour payoff that you don’t have to struggle to achieve. And the best part is that it’s still easy take off at night.
. – . – . – .
Dipbrow Pomade (medium brown) from Anastasia Beverly Hills.
What it is: A creamy long-lasting waterproof pomade used for lining, filling in, and defining brows.
Why I love it: Can we say eyebrows on FLEEK?!? I know I just recently got this stuff and said it would be too soon to include it in this month’s favourite, but, you guys… I’m in love. Not only does it go on smoothly and make it really easy to shape and define my brows, but it doesn’t fade or budge all day. And a little goes a long way, so I have a feeling this will last for a good long while.
. – . – . – .
Translucent Loose Setting Powder from Laura Mercier.
What it is: An finely milled, lightweight setting powder that leaves skin with a flawless silky finish.
Why I love it: Oh.my.word. If you’re looking for a lightweight powder that’ll set your makeup without making you look cakey or powdery, then you need this in your life. Not only does it give your skin a beautifully smooth and silky finish, but it helps control the oils that your skin produces, making your makeup last longer and keeping your face from looking greasy (even in the T-zone). It’s also great for setting your undereye concealer and keeps it from creasing throughout the day.
. – . – . – .
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ from Clinique.
What it is: A lightweight daily moisturizer for dry to combination skin types.
Why I love it: Because it actually penetrates and moisturizes my skin and doesn’t just sit on top of it and make me feel greasy. I used to get pretty bad dry patches around my face, which would make my skin look flakey, dull, and tired. I’ve been using this cream for a little over a year now, and it completely eradicated all my dryness and made my skin super supple and smooth.
. – . – . – .
Clarifying Lotion 2 from Clinique.
What it is: A gentle exfoliating toner for dry or combination skin.
Why I love it: Because it exfoliates and removes dead skin cells but is gentle enough to use everyday. I have really sensitive skin, and a lot of toners/exfoliators can actually wreak havoc on my face and dry me out. Totally not the case with this one. I love how it leaves my skin feeling super refreshed and clean, and that it removes any gunk that I might have missed when I was cleansing. Plus it makes moisturizers more effective by removing dead skin cells that might be preventing the cream from sinking in properly.
. – . – . – .
Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques.
What it is: An edgeless, non-disposable makeup sponge that can be used wet or dry to apply and blend creams and powders.
Why I love it: Because it’s just as good as, if not better, than my beloved Beautyblender at a fraction of the cost ($6 vs. $24). I’ve been using the Beautyblender religiously for years now, and I love the heck out of that thing but hate how pricey it is. This sponge does pretty much exactly the same thing, and I may even love it more because of its flat side. Amazing at applying and blending makeup.

As a LOVE Ambassador, I did receive the Mighty Flakes from Love Grown Foods, but I was not asked to post a review nor was I compensated for my time. I genuinely love all these products, and that’s why I’m sharing them with you.

I didn’t know biodegradable k cups existed, but I love that about those!
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Okay, I’m intrigued by that coffee- I need a new change up! Also my mum would be dancing at the Clinique love going on here!
Katerina
I have quite a few favorite books of the month that I have been reading! That aren’t school related – hallelujah! I think my favorite food this month would have to be overnight oats – I have been loving them so much! I want to try a bunch of different recipes and see which I like best – December goals!
XO

I should have taken you to my make up guy while you were here. Smacks face to palm (figuratively of course). You would have loved it. He MAKES all the make up on site and it’s wonderful stuff. He completely revamped my routine last Spring, for the better.
Next trip.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I remember you mentioning that! Next trip for sure 😉
Kezia @ Super Naturally Healthy
I am loving finally getting my festive ebook finished – what a beast! Also from that getting to eat lots of the off cuts of brownies and truffles – WIN:)
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner
I am loving trying new eye treatment products from Sephora. Lately I have been on this kick to make my eyes look better. I am absolutely loving some of the stuff I’ve tried.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Definitely a good kick to be on! The state of our eyes can make such a difference in how we look, and that area needs extra care since the skin is way more fragile than the rest of our face.

About 2 months ago, I finally bit the bullet and bought the complexion rescue from bare minerals. The little starter set came with a powder and concealer as well and I bought a blush from them as well. It has changed my life! Having makeup I like putting on, because of how it settles is amazing, and because it is the first makeup that hasn’t hated my skin. I wasn’t wearing it for the longest time because everything was making me breakout. Also…I finally splurge to get my brows done and learn how to apply brow powder – again, kind of life-changing!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I haven’t tried any products from Bare Minerals, but I’ve heard so many great things about them. And it’s amazing how big of a difference good brows can make, eh? Even if I’m not putting on much makeup, I always try to make sure my brows look good.
Heather@hungryforbalance
I love Clinique’s lotions! They’ve been my favorite since I was a teenager! Also, I need that peppermint mocha coffee creamer in my life, like now!!
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me
I finished my novel on November 30th! That was pretty amazing!! 🙂
Sarah @ MakingThyme for Health
There’s so much delicious food and fun stuff in this post! I want everything! 🙂
I love Anastasia’s brow products. I use this super fine pencil to fill in sparse areas and the clear gel to keep them in place but I’ve never seen that pomade. I might have to pick some up with my 20% off at Sephora.
And I have to find that cereal! It sounds like a dream come true!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I had a hard time trying to decide between the pomade and the pencil, but I decided on the pomade because I was used to filling in my brows with a brush. That and it has the gel sort of “built in,” so you don’t have to worry about an extra step.

Oooh – I’ve never tried Stila before but I love those natural colors. I guess I still have time to add it to my Christmas list. 😉

WOA – I’m so sorry I missed a few of your food posts – am drooling looking at them! Oooh that smoothie!
rachel @ athletic avocado
Looks like you had an epic month filled with many great recipes, especially that peppermint mocha coffee creamer <3. I swear the all of love grown's cereals are like crack, i can't help myself when eating them, especially the chocolate flakes! They are so good on top of smoothies!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Right!? I seriously have no self control when it comes to their cereals. I tell myself that I’ll only eat a small handful, and then 1/3 of the box is gone 😆
Erin @ The Almond Eater
Beauty products are not my specialty, but I really, really want that Clinique moisturizer and toner. If you were looking to get me something for Christmas, that’s what I want 😀 Thanks girl.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Lolol! My pleasure 😉
Haley
Loved all your recipes this month! Also, that Stila eyeliner is a dream. It almost makes me think of using a Sharpie? But in the best way possible. So easy to apply an even line and it does. not. move.
Hannah @CleanEatingVeggieGirl
I use that loose setting powder too, and I love it!
Shawna
your recipes always look sooooo amazing! i’m generally an Urban Decay eyeshadow fan but i have one Stila palette and i really like that, too.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Urban Decay has such gorgeous shadow palettes. Have your seen their new colab with Gwen Stefani? I’m thinking about picking that one up!
Cassie @ Almost Getting it Together
November was an ‘eh’ month for me haha. I used to use those Clinique products and loved them! I don’t know if I have any crazy finds from this month… womp womp. OH! Maybe the So Delicious Coconut Whipped Cream 🙂
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Hi Amanda! Oh fun favorites, I like this post. I must say, after many years, I’m finally getting the hang of applying liquid liner heheh. And I also love all the Clinique lotions and products. I especially like when you get free gift-with-purchase with them! Good stuff!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
True story: the big free gift promotion was actually what got me back into their products last year. I fell off the bandwagon after using them a lot in my late teens, and they hooked me right back in 😆
Kate B
We don’t use a Keruig but I really like the bold coffee it gives.
I wish I was better with using beauty products… for some reason I hate putting lotion on 🙁 I’m guessing the brutal Canadian weather leaves you with no choice!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Pretty much! The air here is pretty dry, especially in the winter, so I’d have flakey alligator skin if I didn’t use a cream.
Shannon
That stila eyeshadow is so pretty! I’m gonna have to get some. I used to be obsessed with the urban decay palette!
Jen @ Pretty Little Grub
I love and hate the Anastasia pomade. It’s so great to work with but I found it dried out super quick so while there’s tons of product it’s unusable.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve actually read that you can use a tiny amount of melted coconut oil to get it back to good if that happens.
Kat
So many yummy recipes from you this month girl! Just drooling over all those pictures again. <3 And I really need to grab that Clinique moisturizer! I've been searching for a new day time moisturizer. I have the Dramatically Different Gel, but I've heard the lotion is the better option for when skin is really dry and what not. I think the Gel is best for summer/warm months!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Definitely! I’ve tried the gel as well, but I think it’s better for oilier skin. The lotion works way better for my skin and the drier air here.
Miss Polkadot
Current state after reading this post: hungry and wanting a well-paid job to get a little crazy shopping for make-up :). Though I could use some help on properly using it … I’m very basic still and usually fine with that but a few more skills certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m not even joking — almost all my makeup knowledge comes from watching years and years of YouTube videos on the subject 😆 There are tonnes of really great ones out there!
meredith @ Cookie ChRUNicles
I have the frosted mighty flakes but haven’t opened the box yet! I used to be such a stila girl. it was the only brand I wore. I spot the base color “kitten” in that palette. Yeah, I knew every eye shadow color name by heart! lol
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m impressed! 😛 But yup, Kitten is definitely in here. One of my favourites, and I’m not sure what I’ll do once I run out of it. Time to start wearing darker eye looks, I think…
Alyssa @ renaissancerunnergirl
I am going to check out those Love Grown flakes asap – they look like a perfect crunchy yogurt topping!
Jessica
The frosted Mighty Flakes have my heart. Seriously.
Margaret @ Youngandrungry
I love Love Grows Food! Actually I love everything on this list! You are such a well rounded lady in all things recipes, beauty, and running!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Well that’s just super nice of you to say! Thanks, Margaret 😀
Kelly @ Kelly Runs For Food
I always buy eyeshadow pallets then just end up using the same two shades and nothing else. I need to rethink my strategy haha.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Have you ever tried making your own custom palette? If you go somewhere like MAC, you can buy individual de-potted eyeshadows that they’ll put in a palette for you. You can go as small as 4, or as big as… I think 15? It’s a great way to get the colours that you want without any extras that you’ll never use.
Gretchen | Gretchruns
That palette is so gorgeous! I love neutral shades, so this is right up my alley. I’ve heard great things about Stila’s shadows! I also love that sponge as well, and all of Real Technique’s brushes!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The brushes are SO good! I have a few of their basic sets, and I’m always on the lookout for more because it’s such great quality for the price.
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
Love the colors in that eye shadow palette! For some reason I haven’t ever found the “perfect” one that has everything I want (is this even a real problem?) but this one looks as close as I’ve seen. And I agree with Lindsay that your food pics altogether right now is almost too much – must hide the screen from my kids!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The struggle is real! It’s been a challenge for me as well, but this one has been pretty perfect. It’s good a good selection of lights, mediums, and darks, as well as both shimmers and mattes. Have you looked into any of the Naked palettes? They have some really great ones too.
lindsay
you can’t do this to me. I havent had breakfast. sitting here wanting all your food. Gah..
and p.s i need your beauty tips and products like yesterday. I’m so horrible
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
But you’re so gorgeous that you don’t even need them! 😀
