Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!
1. Firstly and foremostly, a big ol’ Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers! I hope you guys have an amazing day filled with lots of family, friends, and good food… as every day should be, but you know what I mean ? Free to send any leftover side dishes my way.
2. On second thought, it might be better if I flew over to have dinner with you, because the post has NOT been good to me lately. Case in point: the Erin Condren Life Planner that I ordered over a month ago still hasn’t made it out to me, and tracking tells me that it’s just been hanging out in a facility in Memphis for the past 3 weeks…
I should probably make some calls, eh?
3. Second case in point: my Sephora order apparently came in on the 23rd, but I wasn’t home to receive it (typical), and the mailman didn’t leave me one of those delivery slips that tells you where your package can be picked up from. All I had was the tracking number and history from Sephora:
“Item available for pickup at ‘Post Office.'” Ooooookay. That’s helpful. So I hit up the place that my packages usually go to, only to have them tell me that they don’t have it and that I needed to go to an actual post office so they could properly track my number. Ooooookay. Do that and they tell me that my package is apparently waiting at some random place across the city ??? I’m FMLing big time at this point, especially because we just got a lovely amount of snow dumped on us and our roads aren’t all that pleasant to drive on at the moment. Remind me to not be lazy and just go shopping at the store next time.

4. But… makeup! ?
Tried and true favourites on top; stuff I never tried on the bottom. I don’t think I’ll have a chance to talk about any of the new stuff in this month’s favourites since I like to test things out for a decent amount of time before slapping a ‘favourite’ label on them, but I’ve heard good things so maybe we’ll see them in December. And the tried and true are all products that I love and repurchase pretty much as soon as I run out. Good stuff.
5. Also good stuff? Finally figuring out how to use emojis in WordPress…
? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Hopefully you guys can see those, because my socks = rocked. Go here if you want them in your life too.
6. Did I mention that we got snowed on??
Now maybe all that Christmas music that they’ve been playing for the past 3 weeks won’t feel so out of place anymore ?
7. And because I know that today is going to be a pretty slow day here in the blog world as everyone tries to enjoy their holiday, I’m going to end things here. Happy Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving. Happy day ?
No questionsβ¦ just tell me whatever comes to your mind! π

So I’m sure I’ve expressed my lack of love for snow, but you do make it look purdy with those photos!
Beverley @ sweaty&fit
Woww your dog looks like a fox mixed with a snow bunny i LOVE HER/HIM!
And sorry about your post office woes – i have seriously had it up to here with Canada Post. And since when did it cost $60 to send something with tracking?! AGH I could go on forever. But i won’t. Happy Friday!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
She may very well have some sort of fox in her π We got her from a shelter way up north, so we have no idea what she is…
Ange @ Cowgirl Runs
WordPress emojis?!
Life = changed.
AMAZING!!

I have a few leftover sweet potatoes which were a total hit, so I’ll probably share it on the blog November 2016 or maybe sometime in January or February. π Or I could just share them with you. Teleportation, here you come.
No snow here yet, although it’s supposed to rain all weekend, which means I need to try and sneak a run in fast before it starts. Yes, I said a run….exercise is officially back on the menu. Insert all the HAPPY emoji’s here.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I honestly have no idea how you manage to sit on a recipe for a whole year. I suck at being patient… which is why I post smoothies in the middle of winter π
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape
Oooh thanks for finding out about the emojis! Away to look into that now…
Yay for snow… I can’t deny I am really missing it at this time of year – the sun is lovely but nov/dec equals snow for me!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
It would definitely be a little strange to have Christmas in the middle of summer! But… Australia <3
Sandra Laflamme
So many fun goodies from Sephora. Oh and even though I’m not ready for snow it is just so pretty!
Cailee @http://hellohealthyeating.com
Such great makeup! I love Clinique!! …and thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes!! π Also, your pup is SO cute <3
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Kaiah says thank you π
Sarah
Um, hi. Speaking as someone that works in a company very close to the Logistics department (so I get to talk to the carriers looking for freight and what not), yeah you need to contact the company that shipped your planner. The company will need to talk to FedEx, as carriers typically prefer to talk to the actual shipper and not the consignee. Probably someone at the plant forgot a commercial invoice or something.
Ha, one time we had something ship from a sister company in Canada going to California. The consignee refused the pallet, the carrier ended up three weeks later returning it back to the consignee because they thought the CA meant California and not Canada. There’s your funny logistic story for the day.
Happy Thursday to you!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks for your advice, Sarah! I ended up contacting EC and they said that FedEx may have misplaced my package. They’re supposed to get back to them on Monday, so hopefully I’ll have some answers then π
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job
Is that your dog?? I want!!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Yep that’s Kaiah!:D

Don’t you occasionally get the suspicion the delivery guys wait for exactly that -one- moment you leave the house to stop by? I felt that way last year when it happened to me several times in a row and the only possible day for pick-up was Saturday. When half the city crowded up in the post office and it took ages. Fun times. Only not.
It looks like your wait was well worth it, though. I think Sephora shouldn’t be on my list of shops to visit for when I travel to the US one day – dangerous!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
You might be on to something with the delivery guys — shenanigans. And YES. Sephora is definitely dangerous, which is why I try to only go in there a few times a year π
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me
HAPPY THANKSGIVING AMANDA! I am still wishing you a happy one because I am thankful for you!
Iβm SO adding emojis to my blog posts now. Thank you for introducing me to this loveliness!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Julia! And YES to emojis — everyone needs them π
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner
I keep forgetting you are not in the US, but happy thanksgiving anyways Amanda! Oh and if I were you I would definitely call someone about your EC calendar. I got mine in October because my schedule starts to fill up fast for work.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks, Daisy! Hope you had a wonderful holiday π
Kat
OMG that Ultra Repair Cream has been my saving grace this winter!! I slather it on each night, but I should probably look into some more of their products!! Im used to LA winters [ where it gets only like 56] and here its been freezing almost each and every night. My poor sensitive skin is dry, flaky and not so great looking right now!!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I definitely know how you feel — our winters are dry and cold, which is the -worst- for sensitive skin. Have you tried coconut oil? That helps a tonne! And dry brushing too.
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday
I was so exited when I learned how to use emoji in WordPress! I have a slight addiction to emojis… ? Have a lovely day!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More
Ugh, I hate the post office/getting deliveries sometimes! At my new place the delivery people will take your packages to the office if you aren’t home which is nice but with the office closing at 6pm and not usually getting home until 5:30pm (assuming I leave work at exactly 5), it means I can’t make any stops on my way home from work if I think there’s a chance my delivery came that day…it’s weird.
Jen @ Pretty Little Grub
Wow nice Sephora haul! Usually I go crazy at the 20% off time but I’ve been trying to save money lately. How boring π
Brie @ A Slice of Brie
Oh that’s brutal about your EC planner! I ordered one to have delivered to Florida while I’m here and I sure hope it’s not delayed like yours!!
Morgan @ Morgan Manages Mommyhood
Seriously, though, I have the worst luck with the post office. A package was supposed to arrive for me yesterday with clothes for my son including Santa PJ’s I really wanted him to wear today (because I’m crazy) and I got the email and everything that said it would be here today – then nothing. It’s now due Friday, since today is a holiday and I’m super bummed out!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Aww sorry lady π₯ But you’re definitely not alone. FedEx misplaced my package, and I won’t hear back from them until Monday as to what I’m supposed to do next…
Alaina @ thesimplepeach
I’m going on googly eyes over that sephora haul!
Kaitie
I love the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream! I haven’t tried any of their other products yet, but I want to.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The Ultra Repair Cream is definitely my favourite product of theirs! I just usually buy mine in kits since it turns out way cheaper that way — that’s why I end up accidentally trying so many of their things π
Kelly @ Kelly Runs for Food
That’s quite a haul you got there! I would have been annoyed by the wild goose chase as well, though. Luckily, it was all cool stuff waiting for you.
Your pup is so cute in the snow. Bella loves it when it’s snowy and freezing out. Of course, I hate it, but she gets so cute frolicking around it’s impossible not to take her out in it.
Kelsey
Still woke up at an early hour, so I figured it would be a nice treat to read some blogs this morning from home since I usually read them at work. =) I think finally, at the age of 23, I am finally getting interested in more beauty/make-up products. And I sort of love it! I’m super intrigued by the Fab First Aid Beauty products you buy.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
They have so many great things! And their stuff is perfect for super sensitive skin. I’ve been obsessed with makeup since I was in my late teens — it’s another creative outlet for me π
Kelli
Oh, that reminds me I was going to restock some Sephora stuff! I just love them. The dog looks great in the snow! Although I’m not ready for snow, yet.
Heather@hungryforbalance
I’m sorry about the post office wild goose chase, but yay for makeup! I seriously have to restrain myself every time I go into Sephora beacuse they have so many cool products! I know that I will regret saying this later this winter, but right now I am so jealous of your snowfall!
Leana
That is super frustrating about your packages. My Sephora F&F purchase was stollen off our front porch so the post hasn’t been my friend either lately! Here’s hoping your planner shows up soon. I’d definitely give FedEx a call.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I actually contacted EC and they said that there was a mixup in the FedEx facility π They’re supposed to get back to me on Monday…
Hollie
That is kind of crazy about the mailing. I seriously cannot believe that. I do like Erin Condren planners a lot as well.
meredith @ Cookie ChRUNicles
I need a new eye shadow palette because the two base current Dior palette ran out. remind me!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
This is me reminding you [a little late] to pick up a new eyeshadow palette π
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
I don’t think mail delays will ever convince me to actually go shopping at a store! I’m sort of wondering when our first snow will be since we’re still getting up to 60 here.
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
I need those emojis in my life. Thank you!!! I must be the most basic woman because the only products I buy are mascara, lip gloss and face cream and sometimes powdered foundation. Now that I work from home I don’t need a lot of products, but you’re making me like I do!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Heehee. I’ve actually been obsessed with makeup since I was in my late teens. It’s just another creative outlet for me.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy
Holiday or not, I never get to sleep late.
But with you snow & package woes, you win! I know you enjoy the snow, but I don’t & am very grateful I didn’t have to shovel a foot of it like last year.
Enjoy the snow & makeup!
