1. It snowed. Like… legit stuck-to-the-ground snowed. All day. In May. That’s all I have to say about that…
2. Thankfully, I’ll be blowing this [literal] popsicle stand soon because there’s just one more week until I hop on a plane for Blend!
I had such a blast last year that I seriously can’t wait to do it again this year. The only thing is that I’ll be missing some of the faces that won’t be able make it again this year, especially this lady right here…

But at least I got to see her a handful of times over the past couple of months now that she no longer lives all the way on the other side of the country, and there’ll be some new faces at Blend that I’m looking forward to meeting, so I guess it balances out.
3. I don’t know what it is, but I probably take around 85% of my selfies in my car. Some people have a thing for sweaty gym selfies or bathroom mirror selfies, but me? Car selfies all the way…
4. Speaking of cars, have you ever thought about putting eyelashes on yours?
I came across this gem in my parking garage the other day, and I couldn’t help but wonder what might convince someone to put a set of falsies on their car. I’d consider putting them on my own eyes (I’ve never tried them before), but on my car? Not so much.
5. I also can’t help but wonder what would compel someone to abandon their shoes in the middle of a set of stairs in the river valley. And not only that, but to arrange them so artfully…
Add this to the list of strange things I find on the side of the [road], which includes but isn’t limited to: pants, underwear, bunny slippers, and a half-eaten box of Oreos.

7. And while you’re at it, head on over to Defonic and whip yourself up some background noise. Defonic is a free online noise generator that lets you choose from a variety of different ambient sounds to play in the background if you need something to kill some silence. You can choose from things like waves, rain, thunder, campfire, coffee shop, city street, and even white noise. Or you can layer a bunch of different sounds to create something totally unique. I’ve been finding it super helpful when I’m working from home and it gets way too quiet. The noise is just enough to fill the silence without being super distracting like music or the TV.

That shoes picture is hilarious! So crazy. I once found a few pairs of really nice men’s dressed shoes arranged neatly under a tree in Boston one night. No idea what that was all about!

The weather here is weird too! But snow in May is pretty bad! Blends looks like so much fun. Putting a face to a website is always a good idea.
The car is where I take my selfies too! And I always think it is so random to find pairs of shoes along hikes/trails. Who is taking off their shoes mid-walk/run??
Car selfies are the best because you don’t feel self-conscious trying to get your angle “just right” with people watching 🙂 I have a friend who lives in Alberta and was posting about the snow this morning … simply could not believe it! She’s drinking hot chocolate and I’m rejoicing in my iced coffee after a humid run. Glad you’re skipping town next week – can’t wait to see your fun updates from Blend!
Oh good grief – it SNOWED there??? So I guess I shouldn’t tell you it’s been in the 80’s here…no – I won’t tell ya!
I think I have big time issues as I so love reading recaps of blog conferences – so, of course I cannot wait to read yours of Blend! Other than a 1-day conference, I haven’t attended any – but hoping to…one of these days!

SNOW??? Oh my goodness that is ridiculous! And I have seen a lot of Volkswagon Bugs with those eyelashes…Cute, but definitely not my style! Those pancakes…yes and please!

I seriously hate the airfare in Canada…whhhhhhhhhhy must it be so expensive?!? I’ll be living vicariously through you next weekend (well…the following few days when all the recaps come up).
Considering that my background noise right now is the ‘Masters of Metal’ playlist on Songza, I don’t think rain or coffee shop noise would cut it for me right now….
Also: the snow for Friday has been changed to ‘mixed precipitation’ overnight. I can handle that better than snow.
So sad 😥 And so ridiculous. I don’t even want to think about the fact that I could probably fly to Europe for the price of a ticket to Denver…

Have so much fun at Blend! Judging by the picture, it seems to be a pretty huge event, and I never realized how many people attend! That must be an incredible experience. You & Sam have been two writers that I have followed for years now, and I am so giddy that you two are friends! You both are so amazing, so it completely makes sense.

It really is awesome how many people show up to Blend! The only downside is that it can be hard to spend enough time with everyone since there are always so many amazing people there to meet!

I just made a for real stink face when I saw your snow picture. I had heard it snowed somewhere in May. Boo for a May snow?! That’s crazy. I also am a car seat selfie taker. I took one just yesterday leaving work. 🙂
