Hello, hello! Happy Sunday to ya 😀
I hope you guys are enjoying a wonderful weekend so far, and I hope you’d be willing to help me petition for an extra day between Saturday and Sunday — we could call it Sunterday.
This weekend has been non-stop go, go, go around these parts, and it doesn’t really look like things are planning on slowing down just because today is Sunday (read: a day meant for r&r). The cold front that we’ve been dealing with over the past couple of weeks seems to have taken its claws out of us, so I’ve been taking advantage of the warmer weather and spending a good chunk of my time here:
Oh, and if you’re wondering where I am, I’m the little black speck near the bottom left part of the hill… or so I’m told 😆 And what better way to follow a day on the slopes than by curling up on the couch to watch a good movie? How about braving insane crowds and cramming yourself into a packed theatre to watch a good movie? Okay, so it didn’t have quite as pleasant of an effect, but its was definitely worth it to watch Catching Fire — I liked it so much more than Hunger Games.
But that’s enough rambling from me. I’m due for another busy day, and I’ve got some great links to share with you guys. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sounds like a great weekend! I saw Catching Fire this weekend too and loved it! I’m excited to see what they do with the 3rd book…I’m not really sure how that will translate into a movie. Thanks for sharing all the great posts!
Dennis
Wonderful blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m
a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option?
There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
Any suggestions? Cheers!
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli
Aww, thanks for sharing my donuts, girlie! I’m actually just sitting here nibbling on one now with a mug of tea the size of my FACE! Lol As always, loving all the links…especially the one from Alysia in regards to body image! And I will definitely be trying out some of those energy boosting secrets for the days following a battle with my nemesis Insomnia!
Good to know Catching Fire was worth seeing…I wasn’t a fan of The Hunger Games either!
Ari @ Ari's Menu
Thanks for the love, and as always, for the great reading material!! xoxo
Eating 4 Balance
Well you are at least one step ahead of me by actually HAVING a facebook page. It took me forever to get an Instagram. Let’s see how long it is this time 8O.
Catching Fire > Hunger Games. No contest. I could just tell from the previews… and when I heard that there was going to be a new director I said to everyone within ear shot “yes! Catching Fire is going to be SO MUCH BETTER.” 😀 And it was. Still not my favorite movies, but they were okay as far as film adaptions go.
Lindsay @ Shiny Love Affair
I saw Catching Fire on Friday night in IMAX. It was AMAZING. I agree with you. It’s so much better than the first movie. I think they did a really good job at bringing the book to life and setting up for the next movie.
I’m also so jealous that you’ve been snowboarding. I’m hoping to get to Whistler over the next few months. I’m in Toronto so my options are very limited.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Whistler is amazing. I’m really hoping to make it out there myself this year, so fingers crossed for the both of us!
Amy @ Long Drive Journey
Planning on seeing Catching Fire TODAY (or tonight) and I’m so excited. Basically the only thing I did yesterday was take a plane, train, and automobile to get home. Now I am lying in bed, awake at 5:45 (my body thinks it’s almost 7 and time to go to work), and reading blogs. Doesn’t get much better than that! Happy Monday, girl!
Jan @ sprouts n squats
I’m seeing Catching Fire on Wednesday and I can’t friggin wait!!
Loving all the link love. I loved Davida’s post on Intuitive Exercise too it was so so good!!
Oh and loved Heathers donuts too, delicious!! 🙂
Yesterday I did a whole heap of cleaning, watching episodes of Hart of Dixie (just discovered it) and caught up on blogging. Today I worked, did a leg workout and had dinner with Nick.
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Ahhhhh the best post exam relaxation thing to do- go down the list and read (although I’ve read most of them already ;))
I haven’t even seen the first hunger games movie so maybe I should do that before hitting the second one?
Three things today- sleep, nap and meditate…lying down. Maybe a book burning ceremony for good measure.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Never seen it?! COnsider us even [on the HP thing] 😛
Christie @ http://Kissesandkale.blogspot.com
Sounds like a great weekend! I saw Catching Fire this weekend too and loved it! I’m excited to see what they do with the 3rd book…I’m not really sure how that will translate into a movie. Thanks for sharing all the great posts!
Sky @ The Blonde In Black
I went to the premiere on Thursday night and absolutely loved it! I think I liked it better than the first one too! It definitely left you with a cliff hanger ending. Yesterday: ate pumpkin pancakes, finally blogged, got some homework done! Thanks for all the link love. There are plenty I’m going to check out!
Kate @ Quarter Century Southern Living
I always look forward to these posts 🙂 And I am obviously hungry because the for my belly all look amazing!!

Peppermint mocha waffles?!? Sign me up! I’m glad to hear catching fire was better than hunger games. HG didn’t do it for me though I enjoyed the books.

So many awesome reads, hope I’ll find the time to get through a few of them during the next week. Creating a business plan for the blog? That makes my business and marketing-heart jump.
Have a beautiful Sunday!

I am not an opening weekend kind of girl.. I like to give the movie some time to chill first, then I go see it:) thanks for including my link!
SuperCutePetContest
A day of skiing requires a day of rest! It’s exhausting!
I’m seeing Catching Fire later this week and I can’t wait. I don’t usually go to the theater, but for Hunger Games, I won’t miss it!
Carly @ Snack Therapy
This past week, I read all three books for the first time and watched the first movie, then saw Catching Fire. I liked Catching Fire much more than The Hunger Games, but neither lived up to the books. They never do, huh? I was moaning over the sexy man candy in the movie though. Everyone in the theatre loved me.
Thanks for sharing my post, and for sharing all of the other amazing links! I can’t wait to procrastinate by reading all of them.
Oh, and I’m so ready to sign the Sunterday petition.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
That’s a whole lot of Hunger Games for one week! And I agree — second movie was so much better than the first. And are you team Peeta or team Gale?
Olivia
I’m team Peeta! What are you Amanda? Sorry for butting in but I’m interested lol 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m team “you can’t really go wrong with either one” 😆
HilJo
Catching Fire was so so so good. I felt like I was in a bit of a haze the rest of the day, though. I get a little overly emotionally involved in movies (and I totally screamed very loudly during the monkey scene…). It was WAYYY better than the first movie.
Amy @ The Little Honey Bee
Thanks for including me 🙂 I also saw Catching Fire… LOVE! I may or may not be re-reading Mockingjay… hehe
Yoojin
i whole-heartedly support SUNTERDAY! yes!
Cassi
I’m going to see Catching Fire today! I’m excited that you liked it more than the first one – I really liked the first one and devoured the books!
Jo @ Living Mint Green
I’m waiting until the crowds decrease before seeing Catching Fire. I’m so glad to hear it’s wonderful – I was worried it would suck. YAY!!! 😀
Yesterday: went for a run outside (it was so beautiful out!), watched Dexter, went to bed super early
Today: hitting the gym for some weights, putting up some winter decorations, family dinner
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Do you guys even have snow down there? It warmed up a lot here, but we’re still buried in the white stuff.
Davida @ The Healthy Maven
I that pinged back to me on these and I was like wtf is a ping back? haha My weekend was spent trying to figure out how to use wordpress and avoid having a panic attacked over the state of my blog. Breathe deeply gahhhh
Ashley @ Kick Ash Mom
I love your link love posts. I’m looking them up right now!
Kelsey @ Ramblings of Change
Need to see Catching Fire sooon! I’m hoping to get to it this week!
Yesterday: rocked it with my ladies at my Olympic lifting class, had a Noodles & Co. date with my love, and ate an entire pint of caramel cookie crunch Talenti gelato.
Today: getting a good chunk of homework done, getting a coffee to boost productivity, and hopefully baking some banana bread/muffins!
Heather @fitncookies
Looks like so much fun on the slopes! I am glad to hear Catching Fire is better than Hunger Games. I was protesting it but if it’s actually like the book, maybe I’ll see it. i was really disappointed in the first one. I am all about a 3 day weekend. That’d be awesome 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’d definitely recommend giving it another shot — I was really disappointed in Hunger Games as well (took me 3 sittings to get through), but I thought this one was so much better.
Heather Murphy
I can’t wait to go see Catching Fire- I’ve heard it is awesome! We will be doing an early Thanksgiving lunch today because my brother is in town and has to fly home on Thanksgiving!
Erin @ The Almond Eater
Thanks for the links as always and YESSSSS to Sunterday. Seriously, where do I sign?
Hollie
I think the 10 ways you are sabotaging your workouts is a huge deal and great article. Unless you are training for a marathon or ultra marathon, there is no reason to spend hours on hours at the gym. Why? Eating enough is going to ruin your workouts with lack of energy as well as not building muscle in critical places.
I like the changing your mood article too. Often times we get into a big rut and we feel worse and worse. If you can change your mood in the first couple of minutes-you’ll feel so much better about yourself!
Kelly @ Femme Fitale
Always love your link round up! Such good reads.
Happy snowboarding weekend! Good snow??
shashi @ http://runninsrilankan.com
I so needed to read “4 signs you are not eating enough”; during the work week, I m so go go go…I very often don’t get hungry and just snack during the day – thanks for posting that post Amanda – I definitely think I need to up my food intake! I should start by making a batch of Davida’s peppermint mocha waffles 😉
Yesterday – cleaning, baking, serving at church in the evening; today – catching fire, filling and dropping off box for “operation Christmas child” and dinner with my parents and taking my mom to her church in the evening.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I hope you enjoyed Catching Fire! I’ll be filling up my boxes for Christmas kids as well 😀
Becky @ Olives n Wine
I loved Catching Fire so much more than the first one too!! Gahhh don’t think I can wait for the next one to come out 😉 Yesterday: froze on a run outside, WF with wine (of course) and movie time 🙂 Today: bagel + lox for brunch, gym time and blogging!
Lexi
Thanks for sharing, Amanda! I love all of these links!
