Hey hey!
Before I start rambling away, I just wanted to thank you guys for opening up and sharing all of your stories on my last post. My favourite part of blogging is being able to connect with so many others who’ve gone through similar experiences to my own, as well as to inspire and help those who many still be struggling — so thank you for letting me do that.
Erm… that’s actually all I wanted to say. There are a tonne of great links in this week’s link love, so I won’t waste your time on fancy intros. If you need me, I’ll be hanging out on the couch in my pink PJ’s, sipping on some hot tea and watching the snow fall. Happy reading!

Hello, I enjoy reading all of your article post. I wanted
to write a little comment to support you.
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli
Ok, so this has GOT to be one of my favorite Link Love posts that you’ve done…I just spent over an HOUR reading most of those articles! I never even made it to the food! Haha!
The one on the 6 pack abs really struck a chord with me…how he feels now that the #absperiment is over? That’s totally how I feel since I saw myself lose all that weight last year only to now be back where I started. It is somewhat comforting to know that it’s been about the same amount of time for him and he’s still having trouble…helps me feel less abnormal for still having problems, but wow, that REALLY puts things into perspective for me too! And the perfectionism one? Omg, all of those!! ALL! Face…palm!
Sidenote: Squirrel photo bombs are the BEST photo bombs! 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Right!??! It’s kind of scary to think how big of a lasting impact seemingly harmless things can have on us. Have you heard of the Minnesota Starvation experiment? It took those men up to 3 YEARS to recover from the negative psychological effects of being on a 1500 calorie a day diet and walking approximated 22 miles a week. Really makes some of the things you see in the diet/fitness industry a little terrifying…
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli
Omg, no, I hadn’t heard of that, but it reminds me about a study that was brought up in the IE book where soldiers during WW2 volunteered for an experiment to study the psychological changes of prisoners of war…it was NOT pretty. 🙁
Jessica @Myhealthypassion
There is nothing wrong with a little rest day! We all need one here and there! : )
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
Congratulations on the protein bar shout out. That’s awesome and well deserved. Great links as always and of course far too many because I hate to miss any, although I did bypass one or two. Fighting my OCD tendencies one blog post at a time. 😉
I really need to get on the frozen grape trend. I keep hearing great things.
Ashley {Whole Foods New Body}
I LOVE your “Link Love!!” Perfect reading material while I drink my LARGE cup of coffee!! 🙂
Jan @ sprouts n squats
I need to go back and spend some quality time going through all these links…but time when I can really focus on them, like tomorrow when I’m at work 😉
Yesterday I did the market shopping, went to brunch and caught up with my dad. Today I worked, went to the gym and did a leg workout and watched a documentary tonight.
Jill @ Fitness, Health and Happiness
The perfectionist link caught my eye immediately! Along with several others. I’m going to be here a while 🙂
Thanks for the link love!
Kim @ Hungry Healthy Girl
Great links as always! I want to head over and check out those blender muffins…. sounds really easy. Hope you had a great dinner tonight with the fam!
Melissa
No snow here, yet, but I hear we just might get some scattered snow showers Tuesday morning, but then again, it could just be a rumor. Three things I did yesterday: Bought new black pants for interviews, did some grocery shopping with my mom, watched some TV shows on my DVR. Since I’ve already done everything I need to do for today, I’ll also share what I already did today: Exchanged the black pants I bought yesterday for a different size, bought two bracelets from a craft store, and had a yummy coffee from a local grocery store!
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves
Such great links! Uhh, wow. That article about perfectionism? Yikes—that is so me. But also, I loved the 21 Things You Should Force Yourself to Do Everyday one. 🙂
Alysia @ Slim Sanity
Lots of great links!!
Definitely NO SNOW! We’re barely getting into the 50s during the day down here 🙂
Chelsea @ Chelsea's Healthy Kitchen
It rained here today, but no snow yet thank goodness. I don’t think I can handle it yet!
Mmm I love that best pumpkin recipes link. I seriously just want to make all of them!
Yesterday I shopped, made cabbage rolls with my dad, and went out for sushi. Today I went to yoga, went out for lunch, and went out for coffee. It was a very social weekend lol.
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Nothing like starting the Monday morning with some good reads- I LOVED that 6 pack experiment and reading all about it and how as the weeks progressed, the more mental struggles became more evident. The scary part is how even 1 year on, a 6 week experiment changed him still. It reminded me of the Minnesota Starvation studies and the detrimental aftermath it left.
jealous of your afternoon/evening…feel free to come do my Industrial relations study.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The aftermath is definitely scary. We never really stop to think about the long-term implications of something as seemingly simple as dieting or exercise, but they change us in some pretty serious ways 😕
Jo @ Living Mint Green
Your link love posts are one of my favourite Sunday activities!! 🙂
Omg, snow yes. It was randomly snowing in certain parts of the city last night, and I woke up to a couple inches on the ground. I am not ready for this BS. Oh well though, what can ya do? No sense complaining, right?
Sarah
Great links! I appreciate the variety of topics. Two thumbs up for all things pumpkin.
I recently moved to Southern California so there is definitely no snow. In fact, it is still shorts and T-shirt weather (or my favorite, sundresses) with temperatures in the low 80’s. No complaints here. I grew up in the Seattle area and do not miss the gray gloominess one bit!
Yesterday: did volunteer work at a local theatre, went for a walk in the sun, started a new book.
Today: laundry, grocery shopping, spend time reading the Bible and praying.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m still enjoying the snow now, but give it a couple of months and I’m sure I’ll be wanting to escape to somewhere warmer. Happy Sunday!
Carla
What a great list! I hope to visit some of the posts that you mentioned.
Thank you for the mention!
lindsay
snow?? what’s that? haha. .I’m in shorts. ANd yay for no more trans fat!
Hollie
No snow in Southern VA today. Ha thank goodness, thank you for all these articles. I actually learned a ton from the flour post. Not a lot of stuff I knew! I must say I like the overly powerful taste of buckwheat though. 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve only ever used buckwheat flour once, and I think I made a mistake when I decided to use it in pancakes because they didn’t come out that well 😕
Khushboo
Thank you for sharing, girlie! Looking forward to going through these links. Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday! Mine has involved scrapbooking for my cousin, attending a bridal shower & dance practice 🙂
Heather @TheSoulfulSpoon
This was so helpful Amanda! Thanks for sharing love!:)
Heather Murphy
Thanks for the link love, lady! These are some great resources and I seriously loved Cori’s post about setting alarms for herself, such a great idea. I am looking forward to reading the post about switching over to self hosting own your own. Just thinking about it gives me anxiety, so any pointers are helpful! 🙂
meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles
It is so not snowing here yet and I hope it stays that way for a while lol. Although it is certainly pretty to watch…I pinned that tomato soup recipe the other day and I plan to make it asap. 3 things I did yesterday? Well, you know I made your donuts (so excited about it still!), I ran 13.13 miles (weird number to finish at) and had a awesome sushi dinner date late last night…As for today, I slept in (which means I still woke up early but lounged around), meeting a friend at Whole Foods for lunch and grocery shopping…
Cori @ olivetorun
Well fancy me that, this made my day. Thanks for featuring my post! I’m looking forward to checking out some of the great reads I missed this week!
xox
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Your alarm idea was fabulous. I’ve been using and loving it <3 <3
Tina Muir
Thanks for the links! More reading to do as I try to distract myself from this taper! Thanks for sharing, you have given me some sanity for the afternoon!! Hopefully one day I can make it onto your super list 🙂

Laura
