Hello, hello friendly faces!
I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve talked to you guys — I guess taking a few days off from blogging and all forms of social media will do that to a girl. I’m just popping in quickly to share some link love today, but I promise we’ll catch up soon. Have yourselves an awesome Sunday!

How often do you check your e-mail?
Three things you did yesterday; three things youโre going to do today. Go:
ย ย ย ย ย Yesterday: farmers’ market, coffee with a friend, shopping for snowboarding gear.
Today: eat my burnt oatmeal (sad face!!!!), work on a new recipe, have dinner with my family.
Eating 4 Balance
I love these posts. It’s like condensing 100 awesome things into one. The dumb blogging mistakes were very enlightening! I admit to still being a little confused by SEO though…
I don’t know how I feel about deleting comments. What’s your take on it? Thankfully I haven’t come across a situation where I didn’t feel satisfied with just responding, but I imagine that someday I’ll have the urge to delete a comment. I bet the bloggers who receive a lot more traffic (like you ๐ ) get negative comments more often?
I check my school e-mail a few times a day. My teachers always decide things last minute or the night before with assignments, and it’s bit me in the behind before if I don’t check often. My personal e-mail is just sent to my phone so I don’t need to check it. It just lets me know when I have a new one.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Unless a comment is blatantly spam, I never delete my comments. Blogging is a public platform that should open things up for discussion — what good is it if you only favour people who agree with you?
Eating 4 Balance
I agree. The dumb blogging mistakes article mentioned deleting comments as an option under feedback but I can’t see myself ever doing that.
Corinne
1. Way too often – it’s open all day at work. But on the weekends – closed!
2. Exams, make earrings, start a new book
3. Repeat today. ๐
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli
Omg, that one on the time of the month is priceless! I was giggling all the way through it! And I couldn’t agree with you more on the organic vs non-organic produce. I used to feel SO guilty buying non-organic, but sometimes it’s just ridiculous the prices you have to pay…and in the end all that matters if that you’re eating carrots instead of drug-laced Doritos (another very interesting article…I think I heard about that for the first time when I was watching a food documentary of some kind…Forks over Knives maybe? It’s crazy to think what levels they will go to to get a product to sale! CRAZY!!)
3 things I did yesterday: mowed the grass, roasted two big sheet pans of veggies for the week, and made a salad for dinner (my first in months!)
3 things I plan to do today: SLEEP!!, catch up on blogs, and hopefully go for a little walk if the weather is nice! ๐
Chelsea @ Chelsea's Healthy Kitchen
Hahaha that Buzzfeed article about being a girl is so true! So true.
On Saturday I did a chest and triceps workout, worked on an internship assignment, and made chili. Yesterday I worked at a gluten free expo, ate dinner, and went to bed haha. Being on my feet and talking to people all day is exhausting!
Jan @ sprouts n squats
I check my email WAY too often, I am trying to ban social media, email and blogging after 9pm just so I switch off better but that ban is not going so well!
3 Things I did yesterday, did the market shopping, went for a run and went to a blogging event.
Today I worked, did a workout and made meatloaf for dinner.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I need to ban social media before 6 AM — I’m pretty sure one of the reasons I wake up so ridiculously early is because the first thing I do is check my phone and then I can’t fall back asleep ๐ก
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope
I love these posts! The 10 Risks of Happy People was such a great one. Thanks for posting these!
Alex @ Kenzie Life
Love that 17 worst things about being a girl. So. F-ing. True. Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables
I loved reading those blog posts from BloggingPro! Those were some good tips ๐
Arman @ thebigmansworld
I love your Sunday link love posts- its the Monday morning breakfast reading material before faceplanting in some study!
I’m usually abit slow with emails regarding checking and responding, but during exam time, its the perfect form of procrastination- not good! And the notifications aren’t doing me favours… oops.
Three things I did yesterday was study, food prep and a coffee with a mate. Today- study, eat pancakes and maybe clean the kitchen when I get home. Hope the burnt oatmeal was palatable post topping!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
The weird thing is that I’m good at CHECKING e-mail, but horrible at actually responding (I know, I know… I still owe you one). As for the oatmeal… let’s just say that almond butter makes everything edible ๐
lindsay
i;m afraid to look at the blogging mistakes.. eek!
and thanks for sharing the sticky bread. Still saving a piece for you!
Alysia @ Slim Sanity
I’ve actually been debating unsyncing my blog email or disabling push notifications. I get distracted by email way too much! Thanks for the share! ๐
meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles
Is it weird that I barely remember yesterday? lol….Oh yes, I did the long run thing, the Red Mango thing, went to an Islanders game and capped off the night with my favorite dessert at The Cheesecake Factory…today consisted of a short run, errands, minimal food prep and relaxing…As for email, I check it when I see it on my phone but on the weekends I tend to lag behind a bit.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
If it makes you feel any better, I’m currently trying to write a recap of some of what happened over the past couple days and I’m not really having the easiest time remembering either ๐
Hollie
I agree about the blogging articles. Often times it’s hard when you create a quality post and then it doesn’t receive much attention. I think overloading too many of those types of posts can make a blog seem overwhelming at the same time. I like blogs that have quality posts as well as real life and interesting life posts.
Also ugh for the snow. I cannot even think of that right now.
Katherine
Healthy and pumpkin in the same sentence had me sold! I try to check my email everyday, but it just doesn’t happen. I like to blame it on the fact that I”m 17 and email is something that’s totally not vital to my life, but I always tell myself I need to check it more often! Today I went for a walk, ate a smoothie whilst reading a book, and am now planning on baking something almond buttery. Hope you are having a marvelous day!
Heather @TheSoulfulSpoon
Great links! These were really helpful to me, especially all the blogging ones. Congrats on the Greatist recipe attribution! That’s awesome girl!:) Three things I did: walked, yoga, ate breakfast! That was just until lunchtime:)
Ksenija @ With An Open Mind
Thank you so much for linking up the “A Simple Plan” article, girl! I loved it a lot. It really brings healthy eating to a point. No wonder it’s based on Michael Pollan. This guy really managed to find food recommendations which hold true throughout all of the hypes.
Cassie
Yesterday: Brunch with a friend, nails done with a friend, Halloween party
Today: 10 mile run, grocery store, yoga
Laura Agar Wilson (@lauraagarwilson)
I used to check my email all the time but it is a time killer! Now I try and spend about 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening then keep it turned off the rest of the time! three things for today, fry some bacon to eat with squash and sprouts, do ironing, cuddle with James!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Gah! I wish I could do that with my inbox, but I get so curious throughout the day!
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I did it! I didn’t read every single link (although I did a lot of them), and the world didn’t end and I’m not covered in hives. OCD success right there.
That said, the staying focused tips was great. I actually close out email when I’m trying to work. I need to do the same with all those pesky distracting windows I have open too. The period post had me roaring. I want to murder someone and I want soft pretzels too. Yup, that’s me.
Good tips for eating healthy and working out as well. Thanks for sharing.
Kelsey @ Ramblings of Change
Yesterday:
Olympic lifting class – hung out with my niece + sister – drank coffee to finish my homework last night instead of doing some of it today.
Today:
Coffee date with my man – watched PLL + Biggest Loser – tried a new smoothie combo!
Lauren
If you looked at my e-mail account, you would probably cry. So much clutter. So much mess. So much organization gone wrong.
3 Things yesterday: Bought lottery tickets, watched football, and lost on said lottery tickets (whomp, whomp)
3 Things Today: Watch football (obsessed, maybe?), get pumpkin coffee, and enjoy Sunday family time.
Btw, sometimes I love burnt oatmeal because it gives it a thick texture (even if it’s chewy)… Or maybe after trying to salvage it so many times I’ve just tried to convince myself I like the added chew some days. Ha!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
๐ But the taste! You can get the same chewy texture if you just let the oats cool off before you eat them — they end up getting a lot thicker.
Anita
Happy Sunday! I usually check my email 2 or 3 times a day, a lot less now that I am not working. Three things I did yesterday: slept in; moved blogs over to new host; turkey dinner at one of the local churches. Three things I did or I’m doing today: slept in; take the Little to a Halloween party in the afternoon and have dinner with the family.
Liz @ Carpe Diem and Run
I love your links – one of my favorite posts of the week ๐
Khushboo
I know fall is usually associated with pumpkin but apples still reign as #1 when it comes to my favorite fall produce- definitely checking out that link with 20 apple recipes. Hope your Sunday is off to a great start (minus the burnt oatmeal). Mine involved lunch with the family, lots of reading and a massage!
Jessie
I.adore.you. I’m not sick of pumpkin by any meals, but my love for apples is a bit greater. Oh & the 17 worst things about being a girl had me rolling!! Okay I lie, I wasn’t rolling but I was laughing out loud … to myself =)
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
Hope you’re having a good Sunday love! As per usual, you’re providing my Sunday morning reading ๐ Three things I did yesterday: grocery shopped, got my ass kicked in a circuit class at the gym, and celebrated my birthday with family. Today I’m going to go to a yoga class, go spend my birthday giftcards, and take Atti to the dog park, because we finally have a nice, sunny day.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Mind sharing your nice weather? We got hit with snow this morning!
