Hey guys! How’s your weekend looking so far?
Things have been pretty quiet around these parts. I’ve been feeling a bit off for the past couple of days so I’ve been taking it easy in hopes that whatever it is that’s trying to attack my system takes a hike. I haven’t been sick in roughly six years and I plan on continuing that streak for at least another six. Away, plague! Be gone! I think I’m in the clear, but I’m not counting my chickens just yet. Keep your fingers crossed for me? Thank ya 😀
And speaking of thanks, I really appreciate your guys’ input on my latest eating experiment. If you’re a chronic, insatiable snacker, I highly recommend you go check out the comments in that post- a lot of people shared their experiences with bulking up main meals in an effort to cut down the constant feelings of hunger and saw good results. It’s still a bit too early to tell how it’s going for me, but I’ll be sure to give you a progress report after I’ve been at it for a little while longer.
In the meantime, how about a survey? It feels like it’s been forever since my last one, and I’m kind of going through withdrawals. I saw this one over on Heather’s blog the other day and couldn’t help but ninja it. Hope you enjoy!
. – . – . – .
Current books: Right now I’m reading The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Three words – Ah.Maze.Ing. Easily going on my list of favorite books.
Current music: Laces Out by USS… as long as you can get past the first 10 seconds.
[youtube=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ4CqjnflLY&w=560&h=315″]
Current guilty pleasure: Playing far too much Warcraft. Spending all day in my PJ’s. Cheesy 80’s music…
Current nail color: Essie’s Fiji. It’s my go-to polish when I can’t decide on one.
Current drink: Hot Cinnamon Spice tea – my favorite tea and the first thing I make every.single.day.
Current food: I’m about halfway through a breakfast of: plain Greek yogurt mixed with a banana, blueberries, Kashi Cinnamon harvest, cinnamon, and roasted almond butter. I used up my last banana this morning which means it’s time to go shopping – an absence of bananas is a tragedy around these parts.
Current favorite show: I always feel a bit strange when this question pops up because I don’t really have one. I see everyone raving about the start of The Bachelor and The Biggest Loser, but I spend most of my free time either reading or playing WoW. My TV was getting such little use that I ended up cancelling my cable subscription a little while back and I can’t even say that I’ve noticed.
Current wish list: I’m pretty set after Christmas and my birthday, but I wouldn’t mind this puzzle finishing itself. Stupid white pieces that all look the same…
Current needs: Sleep. Always sleep.
Current triumphs: Doing the laundry. I’m one of those people that puts it off as long as possible, and it’s usually a lack of socks or underwear that forces me to finally do it.
Current bane of my existence: Winter. The cold. Snow. Clouds. Although I suppose it can be quite pretty to look at… as long as you can do so from inside.
Current celebrity crush: Johnny Depp. Always Johnny.
Current indulgence: Cookies. Especially when I use them to spoil my appetite; although let’s be real – that never actually happens. Mom, you were lying to me all those years!
Current blessing: Too many to count, which is a blessing in itself.
Current slang: Snarky: A word that should be googled to find the definition as per direction from Dane Cook. It means short tempered or irritable. “He was being very snarky with me. Yeah, snarky. It’s a word, google it.” – Dane Cook
Current excitement: Going to the mountains next weekend to do some snowboarding. Squee!
Current mood: It’s still too early in the day to tell. I’ll get back to you on that one!
Current link: Pinterest. Dratted time sink…

Have you gotten sick this winter or have you managed to avoid it so far?
At this very moment what are you…
1) … eating or craving?
2) … doing or supposed to be doing?
3) … listening to?
Irina @ Chocolatea Time
My two favorite quotes from this post:
“an absence of bananas is a tragedy around these parts” – amen to that! I seriously shed tears when there are no more bananas left, absolutely devastating!
Blessings: “Too many to count, which is a blessing in itself.” – perfectly said! Having things to be grateful for is one of the most important parts of life for me. Some days it feels like there’s nothing to be happy about, but then I change my perspective and realize that I will always always always be grateful for my family. It’s all about perspective!
I hope you’re feeling better and you managed to fight off whatever was attacking your body! Everyone is sick here, it’s the worst flu season in years!
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli
Be careful girlie…I thought I was in the clear too and then BAM! I got hit HARD this weekend! Luckily it was only a 24 hour thing, but I’m still feeling the toil it took on my tummy…ginger tea, ginger candy, ginger…cookies? Hmm, now THERE’S a thought! 😉
Love the winter view! I’m not a fan either…but I will admit it’s nice to look at if you’re warm and cozy on the inside!
Currently…I’m craving breakfast! It’s almost quitting time and I’ve got my heart set on some ricotta mixed with peanut flour and topped with…something! Hmm, I’ll figure it out on the drive home in a minute! I’m waiting for my relief to show up to work (yeah, I guess I’m SUPPOSED to be working…or at least pretending to work instead of reading blogs…eh, whatevs! And I’m listening to the hum of the CT machines…it’s about to lure me off to sleep!
Oh there’s the morning shift tech! Gotta eat! Um, I mean run! Lol
Catherine
Ugh. Yes. I got sick…at CHRISTMAS. Looking back, I think it was the flu, which I haven’t had since I was in grammar school. Like you, I hardly ever get sick so it was incredibly strange to feel that badly. Hope you feel better!
1) Just finished a giant spinach salad with beets, goat cheese, and walnuts. Craving something sweet now!
2) Being lazy, which is what I do best on Mondays.
3) No music, just the show American Pickers in the background. Quality stuff, haha.
Gina @ Health, Love, and Chocolate
I am currently craving popcorn. Like badly. Preferably topped with cinnamon or nutritional yeast.
Tessa @ Amazing Asset
Ooo I am loving this survey… likely to be stealing it from yeee soon Amanda 😉 That puzzle is so intense… those white pieces would likely be the bane of my existence after while. Good for you for getting as far as you have though! Snarky is a fantastic word, thank you for reminding me of its existence
At this very moment I should be foam rolling/stretching because I know how necessary and helpful it is, especially because my legs have been feeling less than fine lately! But instead I am here sitting at my desk, hunched over my computer… hrmm time to move!
Haley @ The Saucy Apple
I love your “Current Slang.” I’ve been using Snarky lately, too. Boondoggle is my all-time favorite. Look it up! 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Haha! I think that’s a word I’m going to have to start slipping into my daily conversations 😀
Kailey
Spending all day in my PJs pretty much recaps my whole winter vacation 🙂 No shame at all!
Current food craving = shredded beef tamales 😀
Tiff @ Love Sweat and Beers
I like “snarky.” It’s usually giggle worthy. 🙂 Of course, I like cookies too!
Devon @ Health in Equilibrium
I also wanted to let you know, I nominated you for a Super Sweet Blogger Award!

Eek, feel better ASAP girl! There are tons of things going around that I seem to be victim to… Ever since I was diagnosed with an auto-immune, I’ve become a walking magnet for illness *thumbs down* 😛 That’s awesome about your upcoming trip- you’ll be in the snow and I’ll be in the sand! I’ll send ya some 😉 Current cravings: nut butter and avocado. Same cravings as last week… Fats. Oh and I tried almond butter for the first time yesterday and it tasted like… almonds! How surprising? I’m not sure what I was expecting but it was okay, nothing spectacular. I think my heart still belongs with PB. Currently doing: planning out our cruise dinners/ expeditions. Listening to: the printer [I’m at work].
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Can you send me some sunshine along with that sand? We’re seriously lacking it around these parts lately. And I’m super picky when it comes to my AB’s… there are certain brands/types that I’m not crazy about, but when it comes to Maisie Jane’s roasted almond butter? I could eat that stuff until the cows come home.
Rachel
I’m in LOVE with that nail color! I must find it 😀 Been slightly obsessed with painting my nails lately :p I’m so with you on the winter thing haha not a fan of the cold, much rather enjoy it from my warm house and slippers :p
Hmm… what am I supposed to be doing now? Working hahaha scanning payments to be exact 😉 but let’s not and say we did hahaha
Jemma @ Celery and Cupcakes
There seems to be a bug going around as my husband has been ill too. I hope you feel better soon!
