Attention all food bloggers, foodies, and anyone who eats! So, basically, all of you ?
I’m super jazzed to be introducing you guys to the brand spanking new series that’ll be gracing the pages of Spoons every Saturday, staringgggg…. now. Well, technically starting next Saturday (the 16th), since today’s mostly a what’s what introductory class… but… you get the idea 😉
So without further ado… allow me to introduce your friendly faces to:
? ? ?
Who?
In theory? Sweet & Savory Saturdays is the love child of Arman and Spoons (hi!!). But in execution? It’s for everyone and anyone who loves good food! And linkups.
What?
Sweet and Savory Saturdays is a weekly recipe roundup that focuses on a specific ingredient or theme (i.e. chocolate, vegan, creative uses of nut butter, etc.), with a linkup where YOU can share your relevant recipes and drive more traffic to your blog.
Every Saturday, one of us will be posting a new recipe based on that week’s theme, while the other will be hosting the actual roundup/linkup. We want to create an awesome go-to resource for those searching for recipes with a specific ingredient or dietary style, as well as help spread the foodie love — which is why we’ll be sharing the recipes that link up across our social media platforms.
When?
Every Saturday starting at 6am EST.
Where?
You’ll find the linkup either here on Spoons or over on The Big Man’s World. Arman and I will be alternating hosting duties, so one week he’ll have the linkup and I’ll post the recipe; and the next week, I’ll have the linkup, and he’ll post the recipe. You’ll always know ahead of time where the linkup will be.
How?
It’s super easy to participate! All you need is a blog and a recipe (or two) that matches that week’s theme. We’ll be announcing the upcoming theme the week before, so you can either create a new recipe with that theme in mind (if you need ideas/inspiration), or go through your archives for relevant recipes that you’ve already made — you don’t need to link back or anything. Then, when the linkup goes live, just add your links and you’re good to go! Every week, we’ll be sharing the recipes across our social media platforms, as well as highlighting the 3 most popular recipes from the week before, so you can get an idea of what’s doing well, and what readers want to see.
Next week’s theme will be creative ways to use oats, and the linkup will be over on Arman’s blog. Hope to see you there!

Would love to have you, Shashi! 😀 And just look at it this way — the earlier you wake up, the more weekend there is to enjoy 😉
Love this! Such a creative idea and a fun way to support the foodie community <3
Yay! Two of my favorites together in a linkup. Wonderful idea Loves!
What an awesome idea! I’m so excited to j0in in next week!
Sounds like a lot of fun! I’m not always on the computer Saturday morning, but this sounds fun enough to try harder! Looking forward to it!
Now this is a beautiful love child!
So looking forward to this!
This is great Amanda! I can’t wait to see other people’s recipes. Maybe I’ll join in on one or two 🙂
Would love to have you, Daisy! I’m looking forward to seeing what people come up with as well 😀
Fun! I can’t wait to see what everyone shares, and this is a great incentive for me to get back in the kitchen. 🙂
Alright! I can’t wait for this!
Alright! I can’t wait for this! 🙂
This is such a fun idea! And I just happen to have an oatmeal post going live on Monday. I’ll be coming back next Saturday! 🙂
Woohoo! I might be a -tad- biased, but oats are the perfect ingredient to kick the week off with 😉
This is a fantastic idea! I am so looking forward to participating and seeing all the delicious recipes from everyone. ☺
I’m excited to see what people come up with 😀 And I love that we’ll be seeing you there too, because you have such fantastic recipes!
What a fun linking idea! Can’t wait to join!
Such a fun idea!! So excited 🙂
I’m not a recipe poster but I enjoy reading and discovering new recipes to cook at home (as long as they are simple enough that I can do them LOL). Both you and Arman make great recipes so I’m excited to see what you come up with!
I’m super excited for it too! And I hear ya on the simple recipes… I see more than a handful of ingredients and I’m out 😆
Love this idea! Woohoo!
What a great idea!! Love it!!
I’m excited for it! 😀 Hope to see you there, Kim!
Brilliant idea. You two are awesome.
Right back at ya, boo <3
so excited for this!
Us too! 😀
Love this idea! You guys are awesome!
Right back at ya, lady!
I love this! Having a recipe round up at the tip of my fingers for a specific ingredient! I’m excited to see what everyone bring to the table. Oats are a great place to start.
You should make a Pinterest board for this so all of them will be easily accessible.
Thats a great idea, Kate! Definitely something we’ll have to think about doing.
I love this idea! Can’t wait for next week to participate!
Woohoo! Looking forward to seeing you, Shannon!
Finally, this sounds like a food link up I can really participate in. I have sort of lost my foodie edge so giving a theme is a terrific idea to get people creating and sharing more! 🙂
Sometimes we all need a little direction when there are just TOO many ideas floating around in our heads!
That’s such a fabulous idea! Maybe just the inspiration for me to get back into the kitchen to create new recipes as I’ve been slacking on that front for quite a while. Or simply another great resource for delicious meals.
Happy Saturday!
It’s nice to have a little bit of direction when you’re feeling kind of lost on the recipe front — totally been there.
Love this idea! (and could you have picked a better theme for week 1?! Oats in the blogging world = so many great recipes here next week.)
Right?!?! I adore oats, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what people come up with!
