Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!
Hello, hello, friendly faces! I hope you guys don’t mind me throwing another Currently + ToL combo at you, but my brain is literally farting as far as random thoughts go, so I figured a little structure would help things along 😊
Current book: 10 – 15 pages of A Court of Mist and Fury before I pass out for the night 🙂 Don’t judge me!
Current music: New month, new music! Here’s my latest additions to Spotify…
Current [non]-guilty pleasure: Late nights. I went to sleep a little earlier the other night (maybe like 11:30?) and ended up waking up at around 5… which just made the day feel so crazy long. If I go to bed around 1, I wake up at 7ish… and that seems to make time go by a lot quicker.
Current drink: Water x1,000,000. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been feeling especially parched lately no matter how much I drink. Actually, it almost seems like the more I drink, the thirstier I am… Is that a thing? I don’t eat too much salt or too little salt, so… I’m confused.
Current food: Po.tay.toes. I’ve been making baked fries a lot for dinner and I’m kind of obsessed with them. But that almost might be because they make a perfect vehicle for ketchup, which I also may have a slight obsession with…
Current obsession: So I got a new 100mm lens for my DSLR a few months ago and I probably should have mentioned this a little earlier because I seriously adore this thing. I was using the 50mm before, which I still love, but I feel like the 100 just fits my photography style a lot better since it lets me take more detailed shots a lot closer up. The only downside is that you literally have to be standing pretty far from whatever you’re trying to shoot…
Current craving: Sleep… I think. See “current non-guilty pleasure.”
Current need: Allergy medication. I love the warmer weather and longer days that come with spring, but I’m not so much a fan of the itchy eyes, runny nose, and scratchy throat that seem to tag along as well. I legit thought I was coming down with some kind of cold the other day, but it turned out to just be allergies. I think. Hopefully.
Current beauty product: I’m straight up obsessed with the Shade + Light eye contour palette from Kat Von D. This and her face contour palette are my holy grails right now. But then I feel like I say that about a lot of things… Either way! This is beautiful stuff.
Current procrastination: I just realized I never shared my March Ispy bag with you guys… and it’s already the middle of April. Womp, womp. So remember how I said I was super disappointed with the one I got in February? They definitely made up for it in March. I love the baggie, and the that brush and lip paint are kind of to.die.for.
Current confession: I also love sweet little touches like this. I’m almost tempted to make stuff like this and pass it along to people.
Current excitement: Soooo… hockey. Because my boys (Oilers) finally made it to the playoffs for the first time in 11 years and they’re kicking all sorts of ass. I love playoff time. Our city goes crazy.
Current mood: Peachy keen, jelly bean!
Let’s chat!

I’m a bit behind (read: weeks) but I hope the Oilers are still in it. I love playoff season when your team is involved. It brings the city to life and then some.
Also I have potato wedges/fries cooking in the oven right now. Ave is just as obsessed with them as me. Alright maybe I’m projecting.
Sarah @ Making Thyme for Health
Yay for getting the 100mm!! That lens is my baby. It’s funny because I thought you had been using that all along because your photos are always so beautiful!

That contour palette looks like something I’d like to try!
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday
So excited for playoff hockey! I’d rather we weren’t playing the Penguins, but… it’s the Blue Jackets’ best season ever, so I guess I can’t complain :p
Verna Bloom
I loved your article, great post.

I can’t get enough of roasted potatoes right now. Sprinkled with sea salt? The best!
Emily Swanson
I’m craving more sleep too; I totally need about 7-8.5 hours, but sometimes I don’t go to sleep till really late and then I get up at the same time every morning so going to sleep earlier is always better.
And potato anything is SO SO GOOD. :o) Fries or mashed or baked are all delicious.
Rebecca Jo
I have an 85mm lens & have the same issue with always needing to scoot back 🙂 Have fun playing with your new baby!
Kat
Ugh, my Kings missed the playoffs AGAIN. Sad Face. Stoked for you and your Oilers though! I love when new teams start to improve. It keeps the sport exciting!
And I need a new camera lens like craaaazy. It’s the first thing I’m looking forward to buy with me new job 🙂

French fries sound awesome right now (even though it’s 7:20 AM).
That 100 mm lens sounds great! I bought the 50 mm because everybody talks about how great it is for food photography and portraits, but now I wish I’d done some more research! Oh well, regardless I need to practice, practice, practice to get my photography skills where I’d like them. 🙂
Jess @ Keeping It Real Food
Allergy season is no joke. My contact lenses have been acting up like crazy!
Julie @ Running in a Skirt
I never make it till 11:30 either!

Dietitian Jess
Love playoff hockey (my team is the Pens and they won last year so I’m hoping we can just as far this year). One of my friends is obsessed with Kat Von D makeup… I’m in need of some new stuff so I’ll have to check it out.
Nicole
Allergy medicine is the name of the game right now! And I’m totally craving French fries…
Melissa
Oh, I’m definitely with you on the allergy medication! With this weather now, my allergies seem to have returned with a vengeance!
Jamie@TheMomGene
Current book: Before I Go To Sleep…it’s creepy good! Also, I don’t know how you go to bed so late. I’m an early-to-bed devotee. : )
Hollie
I’ve never tried making baked fries before but that sounds good. Staying up late for me is a nice 9:15 pm so…haha.
Susie @ Suzlyfe
OBSESSED with french fries right now. And the restaurant that I just started working at has AMAZING ones. #problem
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy
I’ve had a scratchy throat for weeks which I finally concluded was from allergies — and I don’t normally suffer with allergies!
I’m with Lisa, though. I really need 8 hours sleep, I can get by on 7, I can function (barely) on 6 and with 5 I’m exhausted.
Of course 7 or so is my norm. 🙁
meredith (The Cookie ChRUNicles)
you know, we really need to catch up! I was thinking so yesterday! sometimes I’m thirstier when I am not eating enough salt. it doesn’t make sense but it happens to me. I will keep drinking and drinking and it doesn’t work until I get my electrolytes back to balanced and then I’m not thirsty. try eating more salt and see if it helps. just a pinch of sea salt in your oatmeal should do it. it works for me after a run. and I saw the oilers lost last night! ugh, they are expected to go far this year!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile
I have no idea how you can stay up so late! 6 hours would never be enough sleep for me. Sometimes I feel thirsty no matter how much water I drink, and like you said it seems like the more I drink the more thirsty I feel!
