1. I feel funky, and it’s not the good kind of funky. I don’t know if it’s the time of the year, the time of the month, or the fact that it’s been predominantly dark and dreary for the past couple of weeks, but I’ve just been feeling BLAH. And it’s not even a sad or tired kind of blah… it’s just this strange lack of motivation, direction, and/or creative energy. I’m trying to ride it out and not beat myself up for feeling this way since that only makes things worse, but I’d kind of like to know what’s causing it or what I can do to fix it, because this kind of stinks 😤
2. Honestly, though? I’m betting that at least 93% of it is just that time of the month judging by what I’ve had for lunch two days in a row…
It happens sometimes. Don’t judge me.
3. One place my creativity hasn’t been waning, though, is with my planner…
… and as weird as it may sound, writing stuff down and making it look all pretty really does help motivate me to get things done, which is probably why electronic planners have never worked for me.
4. Speaking of which, be sure to mark your calendars on November 4th because that’s when the Sephora VIB sale starts.
I mean, that’s when the Rouge part of it starts, so I’m assuming the regular VIB will start a handful of days later. Either way, keep an eye out because it’s a great time to stock up on some staples and save some money in the process.

6. And speaking of beauty stuff, please tell me I’m not the only one that’ll put a face mask on and leave it on for an hour or two instead of the 15-20 minutes in the instructions. I’ll just start doing things around my house, and before I know it, it’s been an hour and my mask is still on. I think subconsciously I feel like the longer it’s on, the better it’ll work 😂
7. Oh, and in the morning, I’m making waffles (name that movie!)…
… buuuuuut that’s mostly because I’m testing a recipe and the first batch came out kind of wonky, so fingers crossed for batch#2.

A friend’s dad used to make them with pieces of bacon in the batter. This just doesn’t work for me on so many levels, although I love bacon. I guess I always consider them a sweet breakfast (or dinner) food, and adding savory or salty flavor to anything that gets doused in syrup is worrisome. [wringing hands]

I had that last week where I just felt in such a funk. I couldn’t get motivated or get my thoughts in check – I was all over the place. Then I just stopped trying to fix it, I just let my mind go where it needed to go and let my body chill when it wanted. And this week has been so much better – more energy and very productive! 🙂 Fingers crossed your funk won’t stay for long!

I go through periods of feeling funky too. I think it’s the nature of being an entrepreneur. You have to be your own boss, creative thinker, motivator, etc. It gets exhausting sometimes. There are some days I just want to curl up under a blanket and not come out.
Hopefully your second batch of waffles came out better this morning! I know a successful recipe always gives me that little boost I need to keep going. <3

LOL! I referenced that exact line just the other day when my boyfriend and I were talking about waffles – I did the whole scene in the Donkey voice – he’s russian, so has only ever seen Shrek dubbed in Russian, and he just looked at me baffled like “what the F are you on about?!” haha!

You seriously have the prettiest planner in the world! And I relate to the blahs a bit lately. I’ve made some goals to help me get out the funk, though. I find that having a semi-concrete thing (or five) to work toward makes me feel grounded. It’s not a good thing for me to spend too much time in my own head.

That waffle looks so carbalicious! My beauty wants list grows daily. I’ve heard that the Loreal Pure Clay Mask in Charcoal Detox is a dupe for the Glam Glow one. I love it, but I’ve never tried the Glam Glow one. Can’t wait to see what you pick up!

Surprisingly this year I didn’t make rouge status. I’ve been cutting back on my makeup spending a lot. So yes the VIB people start later. The 11th I think.

I run in the mornings and the lack of sunrise makes me sad…hopefully that will change next week!! Daylight savings might help your sadness… I have surely felt like eating ice cream a lot lately 🙂 I need to find a couple options that are dairy-free so I don’t COMPLETELY regret that decision!! I’m not really blah right now, but the really dark mornings make is tough to get up and moving. I had to scrape myself out of bed one morning this week, and then yesterday I was moving quite slow through breakfast. I’m very happy to see the sun, but don’t see it right now driving to work :-/

Oh no I hope the next waffles come out! I was just messing with my planner last night and it does sort of help the motivation, or for me also the focus which is really what I need. Now I want a planner for next year already. I do think the funk will pass, and ice cream for lunch is not a bad way to handle it, I’ve been on an ice cream kick too!
