No matter how many times I’ve told myself that I’m going to do it, I somehow always manage to miss apple picking season. And I mean miss… to the point where I’m like “Oh, I’ll head out to the orchards this weekend to go pick some fresh apples,” only to be told “Uhm… yeah… we don’t have any apples left on our trees.” Okay then!
Thank goodness for the gigantic boxes of local, unwaxed apples that pop up in grocery stores every fall. I mean, how else would I stock up so that I could make ALL the recipes?! I’d probably have to get better at remembering to go pick apples when there are actually apples on the trees to pick. Maybe pencil it in to my planner. But even then… no guarantees.
Speaking of recipes, I’ve got some for you! 15 easy & healthy apple recipes, to be exact. You know… because Apple Week came to a close and I didn’t want to leave you high and dry for the rest of the season. Not that I won’t be posting more apple recipes, but because it’s only fitting to send it off with one last hurrah. Think of it as a fall-time baking bucket list. And when you get through these, switch to pumpkin. Or interchange the two so you don’t get sick of one.
Oh… and make sure to pick up some apples! If not from the orchards, then at least from the store 😉

There really is nothing finer than a freshly plucked apple from the tree, in my experience, though I’ve only visited once.

I love apples and all things apple. Best time for apples ever. Organic honeycrips are my all time fav. Great recipes.

I feel like I’m in an apple food porn coma right now. Damn, everything looks so good!
And is apple picking season over already? It’s not even fall yet. What the heck?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I actually think that it goes ’till October, but there are still no guarantees that I’ll make it out 😆 It would probably be easier to go if I had kids.

SO MUCH DELICIOUSNESS here; Apples are one of the most accessible fruits, and I love making apple goodies throughout the year. However, for some reason, they taste the best in the fall time. 🙂 Thank you dear Amanda for sharing all of these.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I used to feel a little indifferent towards apples just because they seemed to be around every year, but they really are great in the fall 🙂
Katie @ Katrina's Clean Cooking
Apple is one of my favourite flavours, so I’m sure I’ll have no problem working my way through this list – they all look SO delicious!! Thanks for collecting them all together, Amanda!😄

I don’t think I’ve gone apple picking since I was a kid. I need to get on that! Also, I was definitely eating an apple at my desk while scrolling through these. I want all of them!!
Katie
Hey there, Amanda, I’ve been following your blog for months, but I just officially subscribed. I wanted to let you know how much your blog has helped me, especially lately. I’ve recently come to grips with a reality I’ve been worrying about for some time. I’m undereating. To be clear, I don’t have an eating disorder. It was just ignorance on my part concerning how much food I need to fuel my 19-year-old body! I really didn’t know there was such a thing as undereating, except for extreme cases. And since I was eating so clean and healthy, I thought I was fine! But now I’ve done some damage to my metabolism and sabotaged my fitness goals, so I’m looking to get back on track. Your amazing, healthy and delicious recipes have given me the jumpstart I need to start eating better, not less!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
That’s so great to hear, Katie! I feel like it’s really easy to fall into the undereating trap without even realizing it since our society has a nasty habit of promoting low-calorie diets. Good for you for realizing your mistake and taking steps to fix it!
Marina @ A Dancer's Live-It
What an amazing roundup! I wish I could go apple picking! I’ve only been once, but there really is nothing better than a freshly picked apple from the tree. 🙂

I love apple anything. All of these recipes look great and I can’t wait to get fall weather so I’ll be excited to try them!
michele @ paleorunningmomma
We actually just squeezed in apple picking yesterday since it’s almost the end of the season already! I didn’t make anything fancy last night – just cinnamon apples as a side dish with dinner but it’s always special after apple picking 🙂

Amanda… apple HEAVEN HERE! where to start? Oh my! YUM!

Cinnamon apples sounds perfect to me. Warm apple are just SO good.
