Happy Sunday, friendly faces! 🤓
How’s your weekend going?! Today’s my last day here in Vegas, and holy.snap… how has it already been 4 days?!?! We packed so much stuff into such a short time that there was barely any time to sit down and relax, but I’m oddly not feeling all that tired. Granted, I did somehow manage to sleep an average of 9-10 hours a night (!!!!), but still! It’s been tonnes of fun.
Home’s good too, though. Home with bed, and kitchen, and temperatures that aren’t 43ºC (109ºF). Phew. Yeah. It’s been hot around these parts, and I spent the first 2 days rocking a massive headache that I’m 99.9% sure was the result of dehydration. Apparently my little Canadian self isn’t so good in the desert.
But now I’m rambling, so what’s say we chat later and I let you guys enjoy these awesome links that I came across this week. I’m catching a red eye out tonight and getting in super early tomorrow morning, so I’ll see ya at home!

Hey girl hey! Thanks so much for adding me to your link love 🙂 I appreciate it!

Soooo glad you shared the link about the introvert hangover! As an extrovert I have never understand why a public place could make my daughter go into complete meltdown, in her younger years, and now as a teen she handles it better but the next day will be completely unsociable and isolate herself. I feel like I can respond better now and understand what she needs.

Hope you had a great time in Vegas! I’m going there in a few months and can’t wait!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
You’re going to love it! So much to do there.
Joyce @ The Hungry Caterpillar
Yesterday: Delivered cookies, went to a folk music concert, called my mom
Today: Delivered more cookies, went to a Nepali restaurant, and went to a sock shop!
heather @Lunging Through Life
Thank you so much for including mine! I’m jealous of your Vegas stay. I would love to get there! Seeing Celine Dion would be even more amazing than just visiting Vegas 😉 Hope you have a safe flight home!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
She puts on such a great show! I saw her a handful of years back and her concert made me tear up a few times. Lady can definitely sing.
Ali @ Hit the Ground Running
These “life stuff” links are just what I need right now. I’m changing positions at school, my usual passions seem to be waning…I think my 30s will be a time for major self discovery and life overhaul!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve totally been there, Ali. But from what I’ve experienced of them so far, 30’s have been pretty freaking epic. Sending good vibes!! xo
Rachel @ athleticavocado
Glad you had fun on Vegas, that’s somewhere that I’ve always wanted to visit! Thanks for the link up and have a great week 🙂
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I had a bad introvert hangover earlier this weekend. I think it was a result of having my family in town, which was great. My in laws wanted to come over later in the week and babysit and I was like No, I want to stay at home with my Hubby and my baby, alone please. 🙂
Yesterday: I weeded the garden, had lunch with my in laws (yes despite the above) and made ratatouille.
Today: I’m going to do more weeding, work on my WIR and do tons of laundry. Such fun. Snort.
Safe travels home!!
lindsay Cotter
ugh 109F is killer. I feel ya. Travel home safely and enjoy some cooler weather. <3
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
I’m going next week and am fairly certain I’m going to stay indoors as much as humanly possible! hahah! 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Have the best time!!! And it’s seriously hard to stay outside when it’s that hot. We spent a bit of time by the pool, but even then we were hiding out under the umbrellas and having to go in to the water to cool off every 10 minutes. That kind of heat is no joke!
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment
Weather change is so hard! We are dealing with rain storms in ATX right now. Have a wonderful Sunday!! Thanks for all the great reads.
Demeter | Beaming Baker
Fun in Vegas + 9-10 hours of sleep at night is exactly what the summer’s all about! Glad you had a good time in Vegas, but not so glad to hear that you were (99.9% possibly) dehydrated. It’s definitely time to come home! There’s nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed and knowing where everything goes. Haha. Thanks so much for including my one bowl double chocolate banana muffins. Btw, I LOVE that you linked up to a walking HIIT workout. HIIT has always kind of intimidated me, but I think walking could be a good way to get started. Walking, ftw. Happy homecoming, Amanda! 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks so much, Demeter! And I definitely know what you mean about HIIT being a little intimidating – I feel the same way! Hope your week is off to a great start <3
Laura
43 degrees?! Yikes! I’d melt. Still, pool and Tiesto S sounds ace!
Yesterday: visited family, bumped into a friend and had a nice chat while out for lunch, and in the evening watched A Fish Called Wanda. I love that film so much.
Today: making cups of tea for OH & his dad while they put up a fence in the garden, reading, and I’m about to make the banana bread recipe you posted recently. Although those chocolate banana muffins you linked to sound great as well, so maybe double the kitchen time! My colleagues will love me tomorrow – I always give away the majority of what I bake.

Well, the article about skin and hormone health is pretty much telling me that I should probably head to the ER after I finish my coffee. 😉
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
Yes! You need a ton of water in the dessert especially this time of year otherwise headaches happen. Glad you had fun!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I definitely learned that after day 2 when I started drowning myself with water 😆 Thankfully that seemed to do the trick.
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
Weather changes always give me headaches! Sounds like a fun time though and 9-10 hours of sleep is my dream 🙂
[email protected] A Dash of Cinnamon
OMG 9-10 hours a night! Sounds so wonderful. Totally jealous haha. Sounds like you had a good trip though!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I have no idea how I managed it either! I think it mostly came down to exhaustion from all the walking around, since at home I barely get 5 or 6.
meredith @ cookie chrunicles
glad you are having a great time!
