Happy Sunday, friendly faces!
I hope your weekend’s been fabulous so far š¤ I spent most of Saturday in the kitchen and behind the camera, working on recipes and shots for the cover of the book *insert excited squeal here* I wish I could show you guys some of the ones I took, but I have to keep everything pretty hush-hush until closer to the publication date when everything gets revealed, so here’s a picture of someĀ chocolate instead…
And because it’s Sunday, here’s a bunch of the links I loved this week. If you need a good laugh, PLEASE check out the first link in the “Life” section. I was literally laughing so hard that I started crying. And if you’re looking for something to bake on your Sunday afternoon that you can snack on for the rest of the week, you should check out the banana oat bread I posted yesterday š
See you tomorrow!

Thank you so much for including my article on HA, Amanda. I really appreciate it and I had no idea that you went through HA as well. <3
PS — I'm so excited to check out your book!

Yesterday I:
ā¢ went to my favourite garden centre for the first time since Christmas
ā¢ went in a dozen clothes shops looking for some tops and trousers I can wear to work, but walked out of every one because the clothes were either SO ugly or didn’t fit me
ā¢ started watching Stranger Things on Netflix
Today I:
ā¢ am supposed to be taking my car to the garage, but don’t feel up to driving
ā¢ need to plan meals for the week
ā¢ will chill out this afternoon and watch some Star Trek: TNG, since I’ve discovered it’s on Netflix

Sometimes I think my stomach problems are in my head too…but I’ve learned the hard way that they’re not. In fact, I’ve had several doctors telling me my IBS is in my head, and I got pretty po’d. That said, it’s distinctly possible that all the things I’ve done to try to deal with the IBS have just had a placebo effect.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
That’s such a frustrating thing to hear š I’m betting that my issues have some legit physical grounding, but that I also make them worse whenever I start stressing out too much. It might explain why I never seem to have stomach issues when I’m on vacation š

Yesterday – baked and failed at baking (grrr!) migrated my site (success!) and did “make your own sundaes” with my kids. Today will be baking redemption hopefully, cleaning, and avoiding the 95 degree heat!

I actually loved the article on stress management. I’m trying to run less and do more of the other things to help me manage my anxiety issues. I was running my body into the ground, literally. The celebrity instagram photo link was HILAR.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’m glad you found it helpful <3 Stress is no joke, and I have a super hard time dealing with it as well. I used to have a big problem with using exercise as a crutch, until it really hit home that the added stress it was putting on my body was just doing more harm than good. Sending you all the best vibes <3

I was a little concerned about the “summer slump” until I realized it was happening to me as a reader too! Having so much unstructured time makes it difficult to make a time for blog reading, though you think it would be the opposite. I think we are just wanting to soak up the sunshine!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
It’s definitely the same way for me, Kate. I’ve been feeling so lax when it comes to anything on the computer, but you’re totally right – gotta soak up the sunshine while we can!
