Happy Sunday, friendly faces!
How’s the weekend been treatin’ ya? I spent so much time working in the kitchen yesterday that my oven gave out on me 😂 It started smoking, did a bit of hissing and spitting, and then straight up died. Luckily it was just some minor little part that took all of 10 minutes to replace, but I still got a pretty good kick out of it. And it was well worth the trouble because not only did I manage to knock out a few recipes for Spoons, but I finally nailed a recipe that I’ve been obsessing over for a handful of weeks now, and I seriously can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on with you guys 😁
In the meantime, I’ve got some awesome links to share! This week is a little heavy on the blogging links, but they’re some of my favourite to read so I hope you find them useful as well. Other than that, I’ll see you… tomorrow (?)… with something that I haven’t quite decided on yet. Bye!

The cardio article hit so close to home. It’s important to listen to our body, even if it goes against what we feel like doing.

Haha those sandwich hacks are awesome! Now if only I had bread…
Glad your oven didn’t break too badly too! Excited for that recipe:)
Elaine @ FoodParsed
I love the blogging links. My blog is fairly new, and I’m always looking for tips. I’ve been following Running with Spoons with a while, and I’m impressed by how you post so regularly, and I love your recipes.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thanks so much, Elaine! It definitely takes a bit of time to fall into a groove, but eventually you find a posting schedule that works for you and it makes blogging a little bit easier. Hope your week is off to a great start!
Katie Jenkins
Hi there, Amanda! I’ve only linked up here once before, but I have definitely been loving all your posts since subscribing to your blog a couple months ago! Your blueberry banana bread mug cake??? I cannot WAIT to try that bad boy.
Thanks for mentioning all the helpful blog links! I don’t even know where to start half the time when it comes to my blog to do list:-)
Also, thank you very much for hosting this link party. I have never held one, but I’m sure it takes some work.
Have a terrific week, Amanda!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Thank you so much for your sweet words, Katie! I hope you’re week is off to an awesome start!
Sarah @ Making Thyme for Health
Oh no! I would have been freaking out of my oven died!! I’m glad to hear it was an easy fix and that you had success with a few recipes. Sometimes all you want to do is give up on a recipe but when you stick with it and nail it, it makes the success that much sweeter. I can’t wait to see what it is!
Thanks for the love, lady! xoxo
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me
I’m so sorry to hear about your oven! I hope that gets fixed ASAP! It seems there has been an issue going on with you every week. Life needs to give you a break!!! I hope you have a relaxing Sunday. <3
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Haha! I never thought about it, but you’re totally right. Never a dull moment in the Spoons household 😆

That sucks about your oven! At least it ended up being ok.
3 things I did yesterday: watched almost all of Fuller House, took care of a sick baby, and ate tortilla chips + guac for dinner (perks of being an adult, haha).
3 things I’m doing today: grocery shopping, editing blog posts & enjoying a family walk I this gorgeous weather!

The sandwich hacks are the best! I am forever being stumped by kids’ school lunches. They’re my nemesis.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Right!?! I used to hate packing lunches when I was at school or worked away from home. I’m seriously tempted to try that iron one. Except I don’t own an iron 😯
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Good work on the recipe creation, Amanda! 🙂 Glad your oven is back up and running. Happy Sunday! Thanks for all of the links.

I love all the blogging links – thanks for sharing them!
Yesterday: Went on a Target shopping trip with my mom, ate a killer burger with fries and mac & cheese, and took a three hour (!) nap.
Today: Going on a quick trip to the grocery store, eating lunch with my family, and probably some combo of blog work/reading/napping this afternoon 🙂

You have had a load going on this weekend. Yesterday, I finished and published a post, worked on some social media and blogger love, went out to dinner with my husband, and watched a few movies. Today, I’m taking one of the dogs to the groomer (thank goodness!), taking advantage of the beautiful (albeit, windy) weather and getting some photos taken, and doing laundry. Fun, fun, fun. LOL! Have a great week! Thank you for sharing the Link Love!

I can’t believe your oven starting smoking. That’s crazy.
So doing one thing at a time is tough for me, but I’ve been working on it, especially because my mind is so scattered lately. Pregnancy brain; it’s a thing.
I had a sandwich for dinner last night (cheese, avocado, hummus and spinach), along with a side of yogurt and fistfuls of Cheez Its. It turned out fantastic although I could definitely utilize some of those tips.
Yesterday: I changed knobs (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), ran errands and fed myself. #winning.
Today: I’ve done a little blogging, rotated and folded laundry and I’m getting ready to make another round of pancakes.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Focusing on one thing is tough for me too. Like right now I’m replying to your comment while talking to you via text. Stop distracting me 😛 Either that or teach me your focusing ways.

Thanks for sharing!!! I love these link love posts!!

Can’t wait for your new recipes and I’m happy your oven is okay! Yesterday I went shopping, slept away the head cold I’ve had all week, and we had a ton of friends over for a shrimp broil and today I’m about to go on a run, church, and pick my boy friend up from the airport this afternoon!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Hisssssss to head colds! Hope you’re feeling better, Margaret!
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
I have a ton of work to catch on today. Had no internet for a few days this week so I’m playing catch up. Glad you got your oven back up and running so quickly!
Strength and Sunshine
I said I wouldn’t be cooking much this weekend…well now I will be since there is NO heat in the house which means I need to go bake something so I can turn the oven on….and huddle in front of it!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Haha! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve done that. The feeling when you open the oven and all the warm air comes gushing out is the best.
Michele @ PaleoRunningMomma
I am REALLY glad your oven is okay! 3 things yesterday – long run, Emily’s birthday party, having family over and today – blogging, girls’ dance performance, and probably paying bills. Thanks for linking 🙂

I thought of you when my oven started acting up – I remember you had issues of your own a while back!

Thanks for sharing so many blogging posts. I always find them super helpful.

3 today- made pancakes, meal prepped, teaching BODYPUMP.

That article of “are you doing too much cardio” is important I think. I think it’s important to realize there are so many different ways to workout. If you run, you don’t need to do ellipiticals, spinning, etc on top of that. Maybe in substitute.
The post about the things to do in 20 minutes for your blog was really good too. I thought it was super helpful.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I really liked that one as well… especially since I feel like there’s literally a never-ending to-do list when it comes to blogging, which makes me feel like I never have enough time. Nice to know some things take almost no time at all.
