1. Please tell me you’ve noticed the awesomeness that is the days getting longer! I’m not sure when it happened, but all of a sudden it went from being dark at 4pm to still being reasonably bright out at 5:30. Pretty soon I’ll be annoyed with the sun for still being out at 10pm when I’m trying to fall asleep. Can.not.wait.
2. So I’m pretty sure that Spoons is out of the danger zone as far as technical issues go… and as stressful as the whole experience was, it definitely taught me a lot about the behind-the-scenes of blogging and made me realize that I can actually do a lot more techie stuff than I originally gave myself credit for [with tech support and Google’s help]. Next up on my list of things to tackle is world domination updating my ‘About Me‘ page, which I’ve been putting off for far too long considering how important of a page it is. Oops.
3. I’d also like to go in and get some head shots taken by a professional photographer, but I keep putting it off because I always feel reaaaaaally awkward when I’m getting my picture taken. Still, it’s something that I’ll need to do [soon] because all I have on here are selfies and I’d like something that looks a little more polished… Anyone want to give me a “just get over it and go do it” pep talk? Thanks.
4. Remember that pizza craving I mentioned last week? I didn’t end up making one from scratch, but I did go out for the cutest Valentine’s-themed pizza this past weekend…
I know! I don’t think I’ve ever had a heart-shaped pizza before, but it’s definitely something that I wouldn’t mind repeating.
5. Another thing I did this past weekend? A little bit of shopping. You know how I mentioned that most of my wardrobe is made up of black clothes? I’ve been meaning to bust out of my “black legging comfort zone” and pick up something a little more fun, so I decided to take advantage of some rare shopping motivation and head out to the mall to see what caught my eye. I know, I know. Still mostly black, but… baby steps 😂
6. So I’m really loving the book I’m reading right now – Morning Star by Pierce Brown.
I was hoping to have it finished by now, buuuuuut this past week has been a little crazy and the only time I’ve really been able to read has been right before bed. Either way… it’s still managed to keep me up later than I’d normally stay up. So good. Fingers crossed that it ends well. I don’t want another repeat of what happened when I finished Allegiant (read: a book may or may not have been thrown against a wall).
7. Have you guys seen the trailer for The Jungle Book?! I seriously love Disney for giving me an excuse to watch so many of my childhood favourites as an adult. Disney? Can we do Aladdin next? K thx bai.

8. So today (Wednesday) was kind of a loopy day, and I’m 100% ready to veg out on my couch and do some reading. I hope you guys don’t mind me cutting it short, but at least I ended things on an even number 😉 Hope you’re having an awesome Thursday! Do something good today!

Yesssssss!! To #1 (send in the sunshine!! I’m SO over the winter blues!), #4 (I want a heart-shaped pizza!! especially if it comes with all of those toppings!), and #5 (I live in leggings 24/7… the joys of working from home and being your own boss!). Although I’ve tried to branch out and currently rotate between Forever 21 black, blue, and red leggings covered in reindeer instead of pure black. Just like you, baby steps! 🙈😜

It’s funny that you just bought patterned leggings because I did today for the first time ever too! I always play it safe with black but colors are so fun! and that pizza is so cute!

I can’t wait to see Jungle Book! It was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up. I still know all the songs- cough- the “bear” necessities-cough 😉
Oh my goodness Aladdin would be awesome! I’m going to wait until I hear some of the reviews about jungle book before I go see it – I just adore the animation version – it’s the songs! The best disneys are the musicals in my opinion!
Starting to do the opposite here now, the mornings are a little darker, which means we are heading to crossfit just as the sun rises – absolutely amazing to watch and the sky is alive with colour!
That pizza is awesome! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a heart shaped pizza now that I think about it too!
My wardrobe is also 90% black and my idea of adventurous shopping is venturing into different shades of grey, white, and black-ish ha ha! so I think those leggings are really cute

Loving that heart shaped Pizza 🙂 I too have put off adding, let alone updating, my About Me page! As a group, we have an about me page of sorts, but for me personally, I need to get on that!! So excited that it’s finally daylight as I drive into work now! My kids will undoubtedly be begging to stay out and up until almost 10pm before I know it, because it will still be light out and therefore impossible for them to sleep 🙂
Awwww, that heart-shaped pizza is the most adorable thing, ever! It’s almost too cute to eat! Almost, but not quite. =) I’m with you on the fear of getting headshots, too. My face is a little asymmetrical and I feel like it becomes very obvious in headshots. I know it’s weird. Love those black and white patterned leggings! They are very sharp and unique, and they still go with pretty much everything – so they are a win win!
I’m hoping that having a professional photographer will help since it’s kind of their job to make people look good 😆 It can’t be any worse than having my dad take my picture, anyway. Man has a gift for making people look bad.
I didn’t necessarily notice that the daylight was lasting longer, but I did notice my mood improving. Loving those leggings btw. I think they are a big departure from black actually.

In no way would I be able to give you a pep talk on getting those head shots taken without sounding like a completele hypocrite. When a camera is pointed at me I look in the other direction and I postpone passport photographs until thelast minute every time. Though I do have a few pictures of me taken by professional photgraphers that even I like looking at. Well now, I feel I just chnaged my ind while writing this comment so: go for it! I’m sure you’ll be amazed by the outcome. The key is finding a photographer you “click” with.
That’s what I keep hearing! I guess it’s the photographer’s job to make you look good, so it’s worlds better than just having someone random point a camera at you. Like I won’t let my dad take a picture of me. He has the uncanny habit of making everyone look horrible. It’s a gift 😯

New/late to this TOL party but I love it! I’m loving the extra daylight too…it gets so depressing in December/January. I feel your pain about having photos taken. I am so camera shy! When iOS started categorizing photos, I kid you not, it thought I was my cat. Yes, I’m a crazy cat lady who takes so many cat photos that iOS thought I was a cat.
Haha! Don’t feel bad… I once took a picture of a Minion teddy and my iPhone put it in my “selfies” folder 😆
Ok now I feel like I can blame Apple’s technology and not my obsession with cuddly cat snapshots / aversion to actual selfies. THANK YOU!

This is so weird!! We were *just* talking about how it was getting lighter outside, and I actually mentioned, “remember how it used to be dark at 5:30??” 😉 🎶Happy dance!🎶 I think that all us north people get the most excited about the returning light!
I watched the first Jungle Book trailer, but I haven’t seen that one you posted. I must say that, until I saw the first trailer, I was very skeptical. Like, how could you make a live action *Jungle Book*??!! The story is mostly animals, and in most cases, the animals from the cartoon version don’t even really look like real animals. I was sure it would be a violation of a classic kids’ movie filled with childhood nostalgia for me. Then I saw the trailer, and even though most of the animals look nothing like the cartoon, it looks charming in its own, different way, as well as breathtaking scenery! Plus, um, the kid who plays Mowgli?? A-dorable. 😉 And I agree…any excuse to watch kid movies as an adult…especially if it’s Disney. 😝
I was a little skeptical too, but now I’m totally a believer! And if they ever do Lion King, I might just die. So many feels!!

No Lulu surprisingly! I picked them up at Winners (basically TJ Maxx) and one is Fila, one is Spalding, and the last one isssss… I forget 😆
We ate a heart-shaped deep dish pizza for Valentine’s. It was delicious. I’ve also noticed the days getting longer and it makes me so happy!!
