Happy Saturday, friendly faces!
Or should I say… happy [Sweet & Savory] Saturday? ? In case you missed the last couple of weekends around these parts, Arman and I started up a new weekly linkup series that’s all about FOOD. Each week we pick a certain theme or ingredient to focus on (announced the week before), and then one of us makes a new recipe based on that theme while the other hosts a roundup and linkup where you can contribute relevant recipes of your own. So.much.deliciousness.
Before we take a look at this week’s theme, let’s take a look at the the top three recipes from last week’s oat linkup (from left to right):
White Chocolate Macadamia Granola via 1000 Lovely Things.
Overnight Slow Cooker Steel Cut Oats In A Jar via Making Thyme for Health.
Rawnola via Snackie Bird.
Thank you so much to everyone who participated and added their links! We really want to turn this into an awesome place to share healthy food ideas and inspiration, and we definitely can’t do it without you guys!
For those looking to take part next week, the theme will be: Healthy Super Bowl Snacks.
But enough with the formalities – let’s get to the food! This week’s theme is BANANAS, and I’m basically dying over all the deliciousness here…

MISLEADING. How is this healthy when all recipes are high in sugar. When has cake for breakfast been good for your health?

These look so delicious! I love snack bananas!
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job
Hahaha I read next week’s and I was like, ooh I can make a super bowl! I just posted about my new smoothie bowl obsession. Then I read it again like a normal person. That would have been funny.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Confession: I’d totally snack on a smoothie bowl at a party. Just saying 😉
Chelsea's Healthy Kitchen
Mmm love this week’s theme! I love bananas in pretty much any way, shape, or form. But especially with almond butter and/or chocolate!
Angela @ Happy Fit Mama
If only I had more brown bananas in my life. I think I need to buy specific brown bananas for baking so I can make all of these recipes!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I always try to do that, but then the one store that stocked spotty bananas switched over to green ones as well. It needs to warm up so they ripen faster.
Brittany
YUSSSS! Bananas are life, these all look so good.
Lindsay Cotter
Probably do without the glorious banana? It’s so versatile. Loving all these yummy recipes. I don’t know whether I should bake first or make a smoothie. Or both? Yes I like that answer
Lindsay Cotter
, That was supposed to say… What would we do without the glorious banana ? Haha
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I have no idea what we’d do! Whenever I hear someone tell me that bananas are slowly going extinct, I die a little inside.

You already know how I feel about bananas. I bought another two bunches yesterday and I think it’s high time to inhale my first one for today. #lickslips
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I used up my last ripe banana this afternoon 🙁 I’m already plotting ways to get them to ripen faster. Including going out to actually buy paper bags…
Brie
These all look so good! I want to try the Banana Cream Pie Overnight Oatmeal Smoothie!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I might be a little biased, but I think it’s a good one 😉
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday
Loving all the banana-y goodness! Thanks for the link-up 😀
rachel @ athletic avocado
I LOVE this theme this week, actually I love them all so far but I have a special place in my heart for ripe bananas! Thanks for this weekly link up 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I may or may not have a soft spot for bananas as well 😉
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More
YUM! Though I should totally admit that the stock of over ripe bananas I had sitting on my counter are now in my belly. 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Jealous! I just used up my last ripe banana this afternoon 😥
Marina @ Snackie Bird
Wow! I can`t believe that my little recipe was chosen as one of the best! THANK YOU. Great motivation to improve my food blogger`s skills 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Congrats, lady! Very well deserved 🙂
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner
I love baking with bananas but it takes so long for them to ripen. It also doesn’t help that my husband doesn’t even let them get to this point because he eats them all! Grrr…
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Right?!? I swear that I”m always struggling to find good bananas. Especially in the winter when the cold weather makes them ripen super slow.
Mildred
It’s best freeze the over ripes ones they stays fresh
Kate
Lucky me I have two VERY ripe bananas in fridge at the moment. I use one last night to make Arman’s banana bread mug.
I love these round ups! So many great ideas.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Very lucky! I just used up the last of my super ripe bananas this afternoon 😥
Gwen@NuttyGFitness
This was the perfect read this morning! I am hunkered down in a blizzard with about 10 ripe bananas. Some major baking is about to go down 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Hope you found something awesome to bake, Gwen!
michele @ paleorunningmomma
Banana recipes have been a big thing around here lately so I love this topic! Inspired to bake something else with bananas now 🙂
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Never a bad idea! I swear that almost ALL of my recipes lately have involved bananas. I’m on some kind of a kick 😆
